  • Hey guys, thanks for watching. This is just a general video on how to replace a wood splitting maul handle. If you have any questions, shoot them in the comments! I plan to do more videos like this.
    Thanks for watching again!

12:55 The glue job had me rolling. 😂 Always happens to me, but with more, "I just bought this @$?!" 😂
And seriously, great job!!! Your attention to detail makes me wonder if you ever break the ones you restore.

@@seniorsmith8015 Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I have a few double bit axes that I’m going to film and restore soon.
I am really going to focus on creating content and capturing the moment in 2025.

That was 10 times fancier than the handle replacement I'm about to do on mine. Yours looks great! Thanks for the info.

Don't you have a angle iron grinder? I could grind those burs off in no time. and flat the head. Can even polish it to a mirror finish

Honestly I’m sorry I don’t quite remember, but probably from some hardware store.
      Thx for watching!

Definitely should have oiled up your wedge before inserting. . . . .for many reasons.

I’ve wondered what is best for the wedge. Would soaking it in boiled linseed oil promote swelling, give a tighter fit for the bit? Does the swelling last thru a season? Hot, humid weather, rainy, freezing weather?
