I love the museums in towns like this. The exhibits aren't splashy, but they do a great job of presenting more of every day life and give a sense of time and history. Looks like a fun town to visit.

What a fabulous walk around a wonderful old town. I real enjoy these vids mate as they're well paced and educational with a few quirks and smiles thrown in for good measure. Many thanks to you and Oana for a great way to spend an hour.

This was absolutely amazing! Wouldn't you love to know what the entire grounds looked like and how long it would have taken to build it? Those modern houses built into the walls of the original Abby are so impressive! It would be a magnificent place to live. I love the streets of all your towns. I love the way they are set up, and there always seem to be lots of shops and people around. I would love to wander around. Thank you, Chris and Oana for another beautiful tour!

Thanks, Lorraine. Bury St Edmunds and its ancient and historic sites are places to behold. The old Abbey site is huge.
Those houses are really impressive and quite unique built into the ruins. I`d love to see inside. It`s a lovely town and with much to explore. Thank you for your kind comments!

Okay with this tour you have made it extremely hard to decide which is my favorite. But oh the ruins, the gatehouse and those houses built into the ruins?!!?!! I would LOVE to be there. Oana, thank you so much for making sure Chris stays healthy. Take of each other and Miss Poppy.

Wonderful tour! Dave spent a lot of time in Bury when he was stationed at Lakenheath. We didn't get a chance to walk around when we were over a few years ago with you. Must go back! Love to you and Oana

Eddie would have been the one to show you around Bury, he used to have one or two of his metal detecting finds
on display in the museum. Bury is one of my favourite towns. The Saturday market being very good, and a walk
around the Abbey gardens. A tour around the brewery is worthwhile. A shame you didn't have time to go into
St Mary's Church, and seen the tomb of Mary Tudor, Henry VIII's Sister

    • @HauntedEarth
      @HauntedEarth  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Sadly we were limited by the time available on the one charge camera. There is still so much to see there, and Eddie would have loved it, I`m sure.

Dear Oana, Chris and Poppy, I know Poppy is at home but she’s Family! I can’t express to you how much I enjoy your tours! You both are splendid tour guides! Some of my ancestry are from there and what I feel sometimes, is it genetic memory or reincarnation? The Gate House and the things in the museum are like a reunion and it seems of late I’ve had other experiences like these. Of course this is a time of great change and energy and it feels very positive to me. Heartfelt Thanks Oana and Chris. I’m often mesmerized by the beautiful architecture, the land and trees and the frequencies that seem to fill me with nostalgia and a yearning to return. Though I’ve not been there YET! Many Blessings with Love, Light, Peace and Joy of Being and Adventures in your travels! I’m so grateful that you share them! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

A great video that bought back happy childhood memories. I lived in Bury until the age of seventeen, and attended school there. It has changed a lot in places, but is still full of the old charm and historic sites, like the wonderful market and Abbey Gardens etc. Thank you.

Please come back sooon! When I first came to live here, few years back, I found the graves of the early abbots, with the Latin inscriptions, who they were, I know they were exposed around 1930, maybe by Mr. James? But seem to have been removed...Also on one of the pillars are the plaques showing the names of the barons who pledged at the altar in 1214 to force King John to sign the Magna Carta..I'd love to see and hear more to add to my history obsession!

The sign you refer to as the lighthouse is called the "pillar of salt", it was the first lit road sign in Britain.

I live here and always watch peoples videos of how they love our town.
If you had walked on the other side of the river wall you would have found an outside jail which you can’t go in but it’s still a prison cell on the side of the Abbey

Hi Chris, caught some EVP at 0.5x video speed when doing a respectful spirit analysis:
7:06 a woman's voice says 'Völven er kommet' ('The Asatru shaman has come'). Now a male speaks, at first it sounds like pure English, but listen carefully, there's also Danish language:
7:09 'Hej' ('Hi'), 'Det er straffen' ('This is the punishment'), 7:11 'I thank you, Völven..', 7:12 'They're going through, the messages', 'Jeg bli'r sindssyg' ('I am going insane'), click on 12 to hear this. Now listen at 0.25x video speed, we're dealing with WW2 material, here.
7:15 'Der var Marshallplanen' ('There was the Marshall Plan'), 7:18 'Vi måtte ofre integriteten' ('We had to sacrifice our integrity'), 7:19 'The enemy is not Völven', 7:25 'Völven er en shaman, som kommer fra Danmark' ('The Völve is a shaman who comes from Denmark'), 7:28 'Jeg plejer at høre på Völven' ('I usually listen to The Völve'), 7:29 'Han forklarer aldrig helt, hvad det er, han er ude på' ('He never fully explains what it is he's up to'), 7:31 'Han er en hemmelighedsfuld stodder' ('He's a secretive sod'), 7:34 'In the thought process..'. 7:36 'Der er snart formandsvalg' ('There is an election for chairman soon'), 7:37 'Not unfair', 7:38 'Back in the 90s..', 7:39 'Thank you for the fairness..', 7:47 'Han satte Boeing op' ('He set up Boeing'), 7:48 'Naah..', 7:50 'What was the thought?', 7:55 'Africa', 7:58 'Apology', 8:03 'Vi havde Obama' / 'Vi hadede Obama' ('We had Obama' / 'We hated Obama'), 8:09 'Likud', 'Arabisk brutalitet' ('Arab brutality'), 8:10 'Arabisk anarki' ('Arab anarchy'), 8:12 'Danmark har en virkelig dygtig shaman' ('Denmark has got a really competent shaman'), 8:30 'Og kvinder kender han også' ('He also knows women'), 'Hjælpeånder' ('Spirit helpers'), 8:31 'Han har også forandret Völvens rolle' ('He's also changed the role of The Völve'), 'Hvorfor har man stadig en shaman?' ('Why is there still a shaman there?'), 8:33 'Hvorfor Danmark?' ('Why Denmark?'), 'Avocado, nej tak' ('Avocado, no thanks?'), 8:34 'Konsekvensberegningerne' ('The impact calculations'), 'Og Völven bestemmer' ('And the Völve decides'). Now a female lamentation:
8:48 'Vi arme sjæle' ('We poor souls'), 8:51 'Hold din kæft!' ('You shut up!'), 8:52 'Spirit benzin' ('Spirit petrol'),
