Making a 1 kilo Gold Cuban Link Chain - You Won't Believe This Process!

- Check out the amazing process it takes to make one of my 1 kilo 14k Gold Handmade Miami Cuban Link chains!
The process is more like a labor of love mixed with art. It is a pure example of art and craft to make 24k gold bars transform into a thing of beauty.
Here is the main steps to make a Cuban Link:
00:00 24k gold is mixed with alloys to make 14k gold.
00:48 Gold is melted using a torch and poured as bar.
01:33 Metal elements analyzer ensures gold purity.
01:52 The stretching from bar to wire process begins.
03:11 Gold wire is coiled to form a spring.
04:05 Spring is cut into links and then polished.
05:11 Links are now joined and welded to form a chain.
06:11 Giving the signature Cuban Link look by twisting the chain.
07:26 Filing the chain down for the final transformation.
09:10 The signature Box Lock is made.
11:03 Final polish and final weigh in.
12:08 The Finished Chain!!

Making chains when i was a jeweller was interesting.Gold is such a lovely metal i enjoyed working with 18ct/750.When you work with gold you understand why you came this way.One ounce or 33 grams of pure gold/99.99% will reach a length of 50 miles.This is a FACT.So ductile and beautiful.

I came away with the opp feeling, everything was machined and he shaved off half a kilo of gold! Didn't display economy of material. There was not much skill involved in this piece , that's not to say the guy isn't skilled.

The few grams of shavings he reused? He started with 1.5kilos of gold and ended with 1.05 kilo chain Not including the 50 gm diamond thing. That was my point. Now Gold is an expensive commodity , so he likely collected and melted down the gold dust for another piece, but that is about a third of the amount he began with.

That's what I was thinking, alot of gold flew off to thin air.
I'm pretty sure they also have their own system of workplace cleaning, so they can still get back some valuable metals after melting the dust.
But even so, I guess that when you work with those it is inevitable to lose some grams every time.
It is like when you're polishing a precious stone. You have to cut it and make it smaller.
Thirteen minutes long but I wonder how long it takes to master this craft. Once again, incredible Eric.

Pure perfection, I have a Cuban of my own but not that big ofc lol but I didn't realize how difficult the labor is into making the chain so now I'm happy about mines and hope I could afford one like this in the future
