Woe, is me - super heavy, Issues - less heavy but still within the vicinity of metal music. Guy asks band which album influenced you guys, Tyler's answer - Brandy from 2011, what in the actual fuck? I guess thats the gay in him.
Michael was your brother though. Tyler, he was with you since Woe, Is Me. I just wish we knew more of what everyone was feeling with that whole break up. Seems like he can't stand any of you anymore.
Plot twist, Ever since hearing Michael’s snippets to his songs on his IG story, I’m convinced that he wanted to go more pop & issues was like Nahh. This interview proves it even more when Tyler & the whole band says not everyone was agreeing with the sound & they had to dumb it down for “Certain People” to fit, either way I can’t wait to see what they come up with
There's a lot of throwing shade at Michael, both subtlety and not so, and I understand that they're in agreement in the direction they want to go to become "big league," but Michael was a huge part of this band's success, stage presence (clearly in the latest performances) and also was Tyler's friend and co-frontman for many years. I think it's apparent now that he relied on him more so than he likes to give credit, and I honestly just don't like the way they treated the whole situation. It does come off as the "Tyler Carter show" and that it, in fact, isn't very impressive. Im not taking away anything from Josh, Sky, or AJ, musically, but from a vocal and an overall performance standpoint. I'm going to give their new music a listen and perhaps I'll change my mind, but I honestly think Issues needs to pump the brakes a bit before they ditch everything that got them to where they are now
Ya know.. It's weird.. Like.. Michael has his own vibe with his screams and cleans but aj and Skye do a decent job at filling that void but when u hear it it's like something is still missing and I hate that. Michael and Tyler had a band together before woe is me and then they formed woe is me and issues. They've been together for such a long time and it's just hurts ya know? I'm excited to see where they go next though. I just don't want them to go too soft lol. I need, I require those heavy moments in their songs.
JarlWallin I didn't say anything about who started issues, and I'm fully aware Tyler isn't the person to lean on for heavy music but Skye could have some say in that fortunately.
Honestly glad they are going this direction. I never felt like Michael brought much to the band but that’s okay. Moving in a direction with Tyler’s clean vocals and the amazing musicianship of the other 3 is sure to bring some amazing music. Not worried about the “bubble gum pop” everyone is so anxious to see. AJs riffs, Josh’s chops, and Skye’s slaps are going to bring amazing instrumentals.
Watched Josh stream on twitch and he was saying that this next album that comes out is going to be heavier than anything that they've written. I'm worried though because watching their performances in Brisbane and Download the energy on stage is lacking...
Wyatt Jaudon Asking Alexandria Said Their new Record was the heaviest they were ever going to make, look what it turned into. I wouldn’t get my hopes up
Wolf the first EP was all over the place to be fair, and the self-titled wasn’t anything that was super different than a lot of other bands, it had something different in terms of this sort of music
I think kicking Michael was the best decision they ever made. I remember listening to their last album and just being like "man this would be way more creative if they didn't have the generic screams on here", but i didnt think they'd have the balls to do it. Michael's "singing" wasn't that great either. If they keep the heavy Djent riffing with Tyler's great vocals. the next album will be amazing. We don't need generic screaming anymore. I want all cleans with heavy riffing.
This is true... however.. spencer doesnt sing r&b influenced like tyler though... i personally like tylers singing more then spencers. like i literally want issues new music to have 0 screaming. just only singing lol. Periphery is great though. in the top 10 modern metal bands for sure.
Normally bands that actually do work for the music and try to keep it genuine, don't have to keep saying it. We get it, you guys have a bunch of big heads lol..
Who is watching this after listening to “Beautiful Oblivion”???
Damn, shots fired at 6:30
This is fucking litttttttt

Just make another groovy song like Flojo and i'll be happy.
GoshDarnBarnOwls blue wall
I just can't wait to hear the new shit and Michaels

Deion Mitchell Michael was working with Tyler well before Woe, Is Me
Deion Mitchell Since a path less traveled * Why the hell would Tyler ditch Michael like that?
Wait so now we gotta wait a year for an issues record?
“That’s a metaphor y’all” 😂😂😂

Nic Hollier no michael no issues
Good interview, but I'd like to hear some better volume balancing / compression in editing. The host is so loud in comparison in a lot of the parts.
Amen.

JarlWallin yeah I mean.. Realistically it's bound to happen sometime. Who knows, maybe he'll be back in the future. Bands do this all the time.
Logan not MCR. Emo shit band that
Wolf .. No clue what you're trying to get across. Why you put MCR I'm not sure, nor do I really care.
Great questions man :)
No Michael change the fucking name of the bad mike was such an influence I’ll give the new shit a try but no mike no issues
I really enjoyed Headspace

Did u not listen to their debut EP and self titled album?!
Wolf the first EP was all over the place to be fair, and the self-titled wasn’t anything that was super different than a lot of other bands, it had something different in terms of this sort of music
Jesse I like the turntables mixed with metal in the EP

NLYF during their set sounded rubbish
