President Muse Bihi Abdi of Somaliland has accepted the results of the recent election, which saw Abdirahman Abdi Cirro of the Waddani Party elected as the new president. Bihi congratulated Cirro on his victory and affirmed a smooth and peaceful transition of power. He called on all citizens to rally behind the new leadership for the continued progress and stability of Somaliland. This peaceful transfer of power marks an important milestone in Somaliland's democratic journey, showcasing the nation’s dedication to democratic principles and governance, even as it continues to seek broader international recognition.

The Republic of Somaliland has reached where it is today on its own. Without the help of NGOs that fund and keep the government of the failed state of Somalia alive. It’s time the world stop babysitting the failed state of Somalia and recognize the Republic of Somaliland.

It's the time that United Nations member state and global organisation recognises Somaliland’s independence officially.
Each case is unique and deserves consideration based on historical and legal arguments, as well as current conditions.
Somaliland is not a clan based secessionist state far from it,Somaliland was established as
    a nation state on 26th June 1960,
    when it gained its independence
from Great Britain and then recognized by 35 countries including USA and China.
    Proofs on the net:
-The three UK Gazettes public official record Somaliland independant 26 june 1960.
-Uk-Somaliland agreement atteinment of independence traity N°44(1960)
    -Uk-Somaliland constitutionnal conference traity 4-12 may 1960.
-UN Treaty and international agreement registred 1960 Somaliland independant volume :N°374.
In 2001,in a national referendum the people of Somaliland overwhelmingly approved the decision to re-establish their sovereignty 97%For the republic of Somaliland.
Bye bye Banana republic of Somalia-italiana.

I believe it’s Somaliland that was the Independent Somali country. It was recognised by 34 countries and it is the Main country but Africa wants to use the Regime in Africa and foreigners in Mogadishu to give to Mogadishu our status whilst defrauding Somaliland for its legal UN seat gained by Somaliland not Thr Italians trust territories.

Thanks for this program. If Somaliland is not recognized internationally, why were there international observers for the recent elections? Who were those observers?

Somaliland has proven to the international community that it is here as democratic country and have a direct relationship with many countries as far as Ethiopia MOu will be signed and for the failed country of Somalia should get rid off its corrupt, extremism so Mogadishu should be pay attention to the suffering of its citizens.
Somaliland has chosen the path of peace, prosperity and democracy.
    Somaliland forever

Why is everyone keep talking about the MOU now all of a sudden Africa is pushing for interest of Ethiopia willed the African Union has ignored Republic of Somaliland for 33 years despite knowing the history of Somaliland from 1884 to 1960 ,the MOU and the recognition of Somaliland should not be connected together and my advice to Somaliland is if Ethiopia wants to use the ports in East Africa let them use it but there is no free Ocean in East Africa, Ethiopia lost its ocean to Eritrea but they should not be trying to take advantage of the weakness of Somaliland and Somalia i see this as an aggression add to that 30% of what's considered Ethiopia by the international community belongs to Somalis.
