I thought Brazil 86 was as good as the 82 team I remember when Zico who I believe was the greatest player of his generation stepped up to take the penalty and missed ,he had only come on and it was his last WC. I thought this WC was one of the best especially the Argentina vs England game and Maradona's classic goal.

Après l'arbitrage du RFA - France de 82, on a bien failli se faire niquer encore une fois. La faute du goal brésilien sur Bellone en dehors de sa surface et rien du tout….
This was the most exciting match ive ever seen in the world cup and very tense even though they only scored 2 goals after 120 min. Penalty was exciting too i always thought that it should have been the final by my 2 favourite teams very dramatic with zicos missed penalty and the brazilian goal keeper trying to prevent the french player from scoring by trying to grab a hold on him outside the line he wasn't even given a yellow card maybe he deserved the red card but this match
just had everything you loved about football and the world cup

French penalty that hit the post then went in off the keepers back should not have counted.The ball should have been classed as dead when it came back of the post.
In the following year Law 14 was clarified to support the referee's decision. A goal is given if the ball rebounds off the post, crossbar or keeper in any combination and "through the momentum imparted by the original penalty kick travels between the posts under the crossbar and completely over the goal line". Probably wouldn't count in 2024!

Brazil’s weak. They lost to Argentina in the round of the last 16 and thus eliminated again four years later. After 2002, Brazil has never proceeded to the finals.

In the semi finals Brazil 5 France 2.Those days are long over.France beat Brazil 3 nil in 1998 and 1 nil in 2006.Only Argentina beat France 4:2 in penalties to win world in Qatar.Italy beat France 5:3 on penalties to win the World Cup in 2006
Both dodgy wins by Argentina and Italy, especially with penalties.
