Your creativity and skill will determine an audience enthusiasm and applause. I doubt if more than 5% of them can hear the difference between a Tone Master and Tube amp. Whether playing or in the audience for over 50yrs, never once did I hear someone say,"I really like the sound of that amp!" This is strictly a musicians opinion and ear sensitivity.

Cool you guys are still in business in Webster Groves! i used to visit you a lot when I worked about 3 miles away! You guys set me up with a great Ibanez guitar I still own and play! It is a great SA260FM guitar that can sound like a Gibson and a Fender when needed. I took some group lessons there too! Will have to visit again sometime!

Nothing beats a real tube amp. You just can’t replicate it, you can get really close, but it will never be IT. I bought a Deluxe Reverb Tone Master, and was disappointed, especially for the price I paid.

Tube amps have their cons. But if you're focused purely on sound, then tubes win.

I think for what it's worth the difference is apparent in a live gig setting.
SS amps don't cut through as efficiently it seems to me. But my back thanks me!
I also felt the TMs are overpriced given the components are so cheap compared to valve amp circuits.
Single coil guitare need to be quite goosed to respond like through a valve amp.
But judge for yourself. They look nice for sure.

These amps will separate more and more in favor of the Princeton as you turn the volume up or put pedals in front of

I have a real Princeton ( I guess you may disagree to call it real ) but it has a 12 not a 10. It’s that 65 reissue tweed one. And I have a Tonemaster. Well 2 I have the Deluxe Reverb and Princeton.
I also have the tube Deluxe but it’s a 68 RI. I guess my point is although I have the TM and Tube of both it’s hard to compare but I love literally all 4. God I love amps and guitars!
    Subbed btw.

I have that same exact Princeton with the cannabis Rex…amazing amp.. they will get close with time master and kemper stuff but never the real deal especially in person. On recording I’ll have to argue you don’t “need” a real tube amp. But for live performers or real players you need that thump and pushing air and response from a real tube amp.

Also in the amps, from all comparisons that I have heard, it's almost like the tube sag is the only thing in the software they missed. And on top of it they could always software update it. I have been dying to get my hands on one of these, and been debating on whether to buy the actual tube model or not. The biggest issue that I have with the digital one, while it is less maintenance, 20 years from now, I maintenance a tube Amp, but if an IC got bad, or the entire SOC, then what?

You are correct, there are pros and cons with owning both styles of amps. Feel free to stop by anytime and try both amps for yourself!

@@DavidsGuitarLoftStLouis Thanks I probably will very soon to get a chance to to A/B and make my decision. The light weight, and cheaper price is really tempting honestly. I know ever Pearl Jam are touring with these rather than the tube amps now because of the lighter weight and consistency. But I will have to come in and see for myself.

It’s the natural crunch and chime of real tubes. Maybe with the tone master pedal you can add chime in

It would be interesting to have a blind performance so the player can't see which is which. Also, critics dislike the Jensen speaker and prefer the Celestial in the Deluxe Tone Master.

If the differences were not so obvious, I would say play these damn things and stop speaking every 5 seconds. But even here, I don't get the hype for these TM. Do people hear something? WTF??
