    My 12 mini is still undamaged and going strong. Battery is 86% now, but it charges so quickly that doesn’t bother me. I also have an 18 watt power bank with me everywhere. Take a lot of photos, record sound (with Shure MV88) and video.

    • @sammyt3514
      @sammyt3514 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting that you found the low light shots to be much better on the iPhone 13 since I have tried both the 12 and 13 and found the difference negligeable in the average indoor lighting scenario. Unless by low light you mean near dark situation, where the 13 might have a more distinct advantage, though I would think it would be a question of which is less crappy at that point (i.e. the 13 would be bad and the 12 would be even worse), so neither would be particularly useful.

    Got my iPhone 12 Pro Max on launch day and it still holds up absolutely amazing. Performance is plenty good and as you said Brandon extremely similar to the latest iPhones. Only two things I don't like about this phone is the zooming in and battery life. The iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max with that 48MP sensor looks just as crisp when you zoom in compared to when you don't but unfortunately the iPhone 12 series lacks that feature. As for battery life, my battery health is at 86% which explains the shorter battery life but that's an easy enough fix. The display is great, the notch goes unnoticed 99% of the time, and there's no reason to overspend on a new iPhone if you are on a budget.

    I’ve had an iPhone 12 mini for two years and I have no complaints. I like the camera a lot, and the screen and performance are great. I disagree, the best value in the line up is clearly the iPhone 13 , the added ram, longevity ( thanks to it sharing the same processor as the 14s) , much better battery life , extra camera features portrait , cinematic , sensor shift stabilization and double the storage at 128gb. The 12 is great if it’s only what can fit in your budget but the 13 is the sweet spot. Also , most used iPhone aren’t going to have warranty or the ability to add AppleCare, if you crack the display you are going to spend 300 to fix it , not a good suggestion imo

    • @cool10234

      I understand this is mostly due to the iPhone 12 going for 400 or less on the used market. I just am wary of the used market because you never know what can happen. More importantly repairs are so expensive even battery replacements just got more expensive as of March 1st. So it’s better to do a carrier deal imo, though I see your perspective cause as long as nothing is damaged your saving a bunch of money . It’s just a risk

    • @9852323
      @9852323 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I agree it’s just not worth it. If you want a cheap iPhone just get the iPhone 11 or the SE2. The 12 isn’t worth it even used because if you spent a little bit more you could just get the 13. I especially disagree when he said to sell your iPhone 11 and upgrade to the 12. You have to skip at least three generations of iPhones to get a significant upgrade these days.

    I get why people need more storage on their iPhone’s today. But what’s with Brandon always mentioning that people shouldn’t get the 64gb version? I’ve always been on the base version and I haven’t used beyond 35gigs of my storage and I always have about 50-100gb of iCloud space so I don’t get the fuss of not buying 64gb. I bet his iPhone doesn’t even have more than 64 gigs worth of apps and data. Again, I get why people need the extra bit of storage, but it’s not like the 64gb variants aren’t viable today- a lot of users really don’t care for a ton of storage.

    I have an I Phone 12. I bought it new when the purple came out. I like it. I plan on keeping it. No need to get a new phone for quite some time. My battery life is at 96. I have 256 GB not 128. Mine was expensive when I purchased it. I want to get my money's worth out of it. This is my first I Phone. I bought it new from Apple. I even had it delivered personally because I was afraid someone would steal it if shipped. COVID was still raging, so I did not go to the Apple store. I prefer the leather cases. I like the feel better when I'm holding the phone. I had to get the phone for MFA. IT insisted on the push notification option, so I moved to I Phone. With limited time available, I only researched the I Phone and decided on it. I looked at Android after the fact. I still have a Windows laptop, but I may move to Mac the next time I get a new computer.

    I have an iPhone 12 that I bought new when it was released. It was my first iPhone ever, had been using android ever since the first Galaxy S, but I instantly liked the 12 when I started using it. Honestly my only complaint is that there's no macro mode on the camera. The close up focus is just non existent and I think it's weird because my old Galaxy S3 had amazing macro focus and that was like... 2012? Something like that.

    • @vivek_v
      @vivek_v ปีที่แล้ว

      Bigger sensors tend to have worse minimum focus distances. That said, even the S23 Ultra can have a quite good minimum focus with its main camera. It's just that as usual, Apple is too bone-headed to give any manual control (including focus) in the native camera app.
      Though, I always use the 10X lens on my S23 Ultra for macro shots. Ultrawide/main camera lenses on phones are far too wide which leads to an uncanny perspective. "Tele-macros" have much more pleasing perspective and background blur, which is why macros have always traditionally been done with a telephoto lens.

    My take on it is that if you have the 12 mini don't upgrade to the 13 unless you feel you have to. I'm driving the 13 mini now and plan on keeping it unless/until they come out with another mini. If not then it's back to the smallest Andoid I can find.

    Wasn’t the iPhone 12 the last iPhone to still have noise and wind canceling microphones? I read that somewhere. Not sure if it true, article said 13 and 14 don’t have it. Apple dropped the feature due to most people using bluetooth per the article.
