I finished the game once again yesterday... One of the best pc games that were ever made. I can't think of one game produced in the last decade that can compare to the incredible atmosphere of bioforge. I think I should start making a walkthrough for this game
So did I. I was 7 when I saw my cousin play this game (on a 486, so it was lagging). He made it to Dr. Mastaba's lab and he (not counting his lab with the blood-stained operation table) scared the hell out of me.
we got this game waaay back in 1995, it came with our first family pc, of course it broke down every minutes into gameplay because there was insufficient RAM, broke my heart lol
The music of Cybermage: Dark Light Awakening is a lot better, you can notice that just at the intro. It's another game from Origin, released in 1995 as well. Origin studio has got fantastic titles with serious, pleasant deep plots and real characters, comparing to the regular 1-man-army run-n'-gun games. I think it's most significant in their FPS Cybermage, because FPS was a plain plot-less genre in its time. Sadly, the few games that I know from Origin are overlooked.
This is one of my all time favorite games ever. So much to learn from this game as far as game development. Alien Odyssey is pretty interesting but does not compare to the fact that it's a lot like an old game called Cyberia (Which is great!) This one was very plot filled, and there are times you have choices which outcome the ending of whom you are, but at other times it is very linear, there are times you must do everything a certain way or lose. Overall, way ahead of its time, and i'd love to see a modern game based off of this story line with more fulfillment.... I read a Bioforge 2 was in the works, perhaps rumors, or was in the works and got cancelled... so many years ago, hard to tell with the net sometimes, but this game was fantastic and ahead of its time.... :( Glad it existed though.
The sequel was going to be called Bioforge Plus. I believe Jeff Morris uploaded the introduction cinematic for it, and a small bit of game-play. It was never released, and only a beta was created.
Thank you so much.... late response, but I'm a 3d-modeler/texture artist... and art directed 2 HBO films about the internet. It would be nice to connect with artists of the oldschool games I fell in love with.... even if they arn't bothering with it anymore. I also love practical effect artists which is a skill i have no ability in but appreciate.
jayson murphy You're welcome. You might be able to find some; you just have to do a little research. Years back, I found the work email account of one of the makers of Bioforge. I wish I had asked him about Bioforge Plus, but I didn't. But I didn't want to waste his time either.
jayson murphy I would love t know if they are making a sequel. I supplied the voice for Dr. Mastaba for the game and would love to get involved in Bioforge 2 if is development. Would it still be made by Origin or is it a different company now?
i search for the german version from Bioforge and log books in german where you every found ingame.Dark Atmosphere like Blade Runner PC Adventure. Music Part 1 and 2 is soooo nice.DuM Dum dumdudmdum XD .Midi Files where i found not so good. Bioforge OST can anyone upload to youtube?

This game remindes me Dark Earth. It's very different worlds but very similar heroes. Great Game.
I wonder what 3d software they used for this...
A remake or accurate sequel, perhaps on modern consoles would be awesome for us fans, but I don't think it would generally sell very well...
HELL YEAH!!
near the end where he escapes with escher on the dropship was just BEGGING sequel
shame. Awesome game
@Grenadeinmouth86 same here m8, i still play Bio after all those years :). I'd so like get a plot of Bioforge Plus..
Bioforge was about as old as GTA V is now when this video was uploaded.

@jackal3311

Maybe a Reboot is in Order to give (In general) this and other Games a chance to tell their story with better Tech...
Wish they would make a sequel. This game was bad ass. The intro is laughable now. But it was bad ass!
I think that the voices, e.g. of Dr. Mastaba, are much better in the german version.
tolles spiel
so very happy.
lol
@sm0kie420 me too :p
fucked EA :(
i love bioforge, every single bit of it.
Just released on GOG.com for 6 bucks! :)

Well, I use DosBox on XP.
