Thanks for using my song, "Out, Athena!". this is so interesting to me... and that yarn looks fantastic!
Thanks Dan! Thank you for the song access via Thematic. I am sure hand spinning yarn was not an expected use, but I just love the music.
@@UrbanGypZ Haha, it was definitely unexpected, but appreciated :) Thank you!
It’s awesome to hear you thinking out loud. Grateful! I’m learning a lot.❤
I am glad it helps!
It's really helpful to seeing the rolag being made before being spun because we get more of an idea of what those fibres originally looked like when they appear again. It was great watching them spun up into such an interesting yarn.
Awesome! I was hoping that would help. I am determined to improve the camera angle to seen prices better.
Howdy, lovelovelove this mix. I really outta get a drop spindle to start. For me these are great to include in my mini weaving ... Thanks for sharing fun to watch.
My pleasure
Amazing. Glad to catch up with you again. Love the beach area where you are. I’m hoping to do a really wild batt to spin at the next agricultural show. Thanks for the auto wrap instruction, I will have a go.
So glad I found you again!!! Your an inspiration and your explanations are so good. I started spinning a few years ago and found your posts when you were still in Asheville-you gave me the confidence to jump in. I now find spinning very relaxing!! I too have a kromski 24” and small 4 harness loom. Such a feeling of satisfaction to weave with hand spun!!
That is fantastic! I am so glad you are back now that I am back(hiatus to get my Real estate license). Thank you!
love seeing what you are doing as you verbally walk us thru! awesome video! love this kind helps with problems I have had an see now how to handle it : )
Fantastic!! Sometime just watching someone do the thing is enough.
Really enjoyed this so much !
So glad!
How beautiful. Thank you!
Love these new videos thanks for making them.
So glad! I love making them. Thanks for watching
Hi, thankyou so much for sharing this video podcast. Love your video podcasts you're so interesting and inspirational.
Can you use Crochet Cotton as wrap in both Auto Wrapping and Core Spinning??
Your yarn is both beautiful and amazing .
Thanks again.
Happy Spinning
Take care and stay safe
Love Jen xxxx 💖 ❤❣🐑🐑❤
You can use crochet cotton for both autowrap and core spinning. However it is a little thick for autowrap but that might be a look that works for the yarn you are spinning. Try a few yards to see what you think. I have used regular sewing thread I have had on hand for autowrap, and the mill end I am using in the video is more akin to seeing thread if not thinner. As for core spinning I think crochet cotton is the perfect corespun weight. It will not grab the fiber as easily as a wool would but it will totally work.
Спасибо!
My pleasure. Thank you for watching
Thank you for this video. I find my Auto wrap yarn is always so loose and sits away from my spun area, if that makes any sense? I am not sure how to make it sit against the middle. Thanks for any help. Love your creativity and generosity. ❤
Mine is super loose as well, but I like it to look like a bit of a tangle. If I wanted it to be positioned more intentionally I would hold it with your drafting triangle.
Thank you I love your videos 💓 I do have a ? Could you please tell me how you set your art yarns do you wash or steam them ? Cheers 😊
Hi Susan. I usually set my art yarns with a quick soak in hot water. If the fiber feels like it could use an extra wash, I may add a little fiber soak to the water. If it is something like a hand spun silk (and no wool, I rqrely spin withour wool) Then I might steam block the yarn on the skeinwinder before removing. But if the art yarn seems especially fragile(and a yarn that will be used in a non wearable) then I would skip setting it altogether.
@@UrbanGypZ thank you for that do you set any of your yarn you use for weaving? 😊
Yes. I do the above for all weaving yarn too.
@@UrbanGypZ thank you 😊
This is wonderful. I’d like to try auto wrapped yarn. Could you pls share the name and brand of the thin yarn you are using? Many thanks indeed.
The thin yarn is actually a mill end that I found at the thrift store. The looks are wool
And the fiber grab a it well. You could substitute a thin mohair yarn to get a similar result, it just would not have the loops
This is lovely! I've auto wrapped a couple of times but I find the thread doesn't wrap closely and can be quite loose and loopy...any suggestions why or is that what I should expect?!
Mine is loose, but that is the look I am going for. You would need to tension it or work it more like a ply if you want it to wrap more tightly around the yarn
@@UrbanGypZ thank you, that answers my question! I really enjoy your videos and your approach..its very relaxing 😌
Wonderful!! Thank you so much for watching. More demos to come.
Spinning counterclockwise ?
Yes. Counter clockwise. I find working the locks and other fibers easier to do as it spins over the top of the yarn (I am right handed)
Miss my louet
Oh no! Did you down size or trade up?
