Juliette Samuel the Bible declares that people should rend their hearts and not their garments.
Manlooks at the outward appearance but God looked at the heart.

I am not here to judge anyone, but we need to ask ourselves, what is the difference between the church and the world?... Yes Almighty God looks at the heart which is spiritually.... Humans see with physical eyes... Whatever we see in the naturals, the mind implements in the physical... The body of Christ (we) lost our moral compass... The world 🌎 is still looking at the churches to be their role model... And that's the reason why so many can't make up their minds. They have one foot in and one foot out, because (we)all look the same, we are God ambassador, and we represent the Father wherever we go. And that's including our dress code ❤❤ be blessed every one who read this, we are living in the last days... please don't be fooled
My sister that is not what the text meant, sorry. Joel 2:12 - 13
The word for “rend” in the original Hebrew means “to split, tear to pieces, rip, bust, separate abruptly or with violence.” To rend one’s garment was an ancient custom that signaled intense grief, repentance, or holy zeal.
Rending garments
In Bible times, people would tear their clothes to express grief or anger. This was a public display of sorrow that others could see.
Repentance
The verse calls for a sincere change of heart, not just an outward display of sorrow. It encourages people to see their sins as God sees them and to confess and repent.
Return to God
The verse encourages people to return to God with all their hearts, through fasting, weeping, and mourning.
The idiom rend your heart expresses internal spiritual brokenness, which is vastly more important than any empty, hypocritical act of ripping apart one’s clothing. Rituals of repentance mean nothing if the heart is unchanged. External performances are not enough.
For this reason, Jesus taught in the Beatitudes, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). Being poor in spirit means recognizing one’s broken spiritual state. We rend our hearts when we admit that we are utterly bankrupt and destitute before God. Without His forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration, we are undone.
I hope this helps as intended to.
Hallelujah Hallelujah glory to God Bless Jesus 🙌 🙏 Amen
