for the first few animes bebop and champloo are def an amazing way to start. just watch anything from before 2008 and you should be good.

I absolutely love Champloo. Its both super popular and under rated. I honestly never got into bebop and dropped it pretty quickly, however while watching it my cousin told me about champloo and i ended up marathoning the show. I just couldnt put it down. Its weird how few animes there are like it when its simultaneously so many common tropes.

Meh i dunno i didnt really care for champloo much what made bebop work was its fluctuating tone and style while this show feels very static all the locations look the same all the side characters are forgettable all the fights are similar looking sword fights with minimal impact so it feels like two people flailing pool noodles it generally just wasnt very engaging to me
