Got what I think is an XT650 (no visible model number anywhere) on a Toro 22" Recycler mower.
If anyone wants to know, seems the spark plug alternates for the Kohler 1413211(S) are Champion RA8HC or NGK DCPR6E. (Put the S in brackets, since it seems in most parts listings, but not on the plug I removed.) I've seen suggested gaps at both 0.030" and 0.040" in listings, so somewhere in that range should work.
Air filter seems to be a different style than the one in this video, since it pops on with a catch molded into it. Oddly there are instructions for service intervals molded into the inside of the air cover but no service part numbers. Air cover itself does have the part number 14096119, and it seems other than a model specific (XT6 Courage series filter), generic 5.25" x 4.5" sized filters also may work since they come up a lot in search suggestions.
So that little bit might be useful for general service other than the full overhaul level work in this video as it could help with finding parts.

Saddest part is that toro has a lame warranty. I wish i went with a bigger brand. A tab pricey but it worth the piece mind knowing a brand that stands by their product.
What size socket are you using to get the top screws off?
This is a very informative video. I was surprised that there did not seem to be a valve cover gasket.

How do I change the fuel filter (Kohler Courage XT-7)?
Great video! Mine was spitting oil underneath the bottom front after I worked it hard for a while. The only thing possible was the head gasket and I couldn't get one in less than 6 days plus the next day to fix it so I cleaned everything up and lightly coated the gasket with Permatex "The Right Stuff 90 Minute", which is a few bucks more but I didn't want to wait 24 hours. Started first pull. We will see how it holds up over time, but I'd guess well because it has to be at least as good as the silver coating they put on them.
That wasn't it. It's coming out of the casting above the bottom gasket.
Unfortunately our video team is on a strict schedule and we typically don't do maintenance type videos like that. They are available from other channels on TH-cam though!

Not sure how you prioritize the video production, but I suspect a lot more folks are going to be interest in learning how to clean the carb...given the issues this engine has w/ ethanol gas.

Questionnoticed it has I just got a Kohler XTX and don't know what the small turn thing(with water drop drawing around it ) is for in your video it has the blue sticker that reads quick water minds does not say anything but assume its the same thing can you tell us whats it is for , I have read over the ins manual and don't find anything about it
Are you talking about the blue plastic piece on the rear of the deck. That's a you connect a garden hose and with the hose on and mower running, it should flush the grass build up under the deck. Hope that helps.
Its a gimmick. If your cutting dry grass and want a quick clean just a blower and stick it in the rear opening. Other than that you'll still have to flip it to wash it.

And the spark plug I bought didn't fit. The one that didn't fit - RC12YC and RJLM19
I have paid buddy to repair but didn't replace the spark plug not did he give the old one back.
Michael Ashawasega We need the engine model number to locate the proper plug. A valid Kohler engine model will look like this XT618-01065 for example. It will be on the side or rear of the engine.

I have a XT675-2011 and oil is leaking thru the breather tube into the air filter. What could cause this?
+Paul Sierra This can occur from overfilling the oil sump, tipping the engine, or the engine getting flooded with gasoline due to a carburetor fuel needle sticking. Beyond these things piston rings could have worn and oil is getting into the fuel mixture.
Do these engines have reed valves in the crankcase that goes out to the breather tube? I cleaned the carb. and also checked the head gasket no issues there. It runs good no smoke just oil keeps coming out the tube.
That's all correct, for sure - but if that doesn't solve the problem, don't forget the breather assembly under the fly wheel.
Purchased AWD used and it had same issue. Since you posted a year ago I imagine you resolved the problem and forgot to post the solution or sold the machine off. I had the same problem. Removed the exhaust and cleaned. It was very clogged up. I also tapped out a couple of the grid holes to make a couple larger holes to reduce back pressure. Under the fly wheel mine has cover with 2 screws... I believe this is the crank case breather tube filter, removed that, cleaned and reinstalled. Filled with new oil SAE 30. The previous owner put a 10w40 oil in which I have always been told is the best to use if you really dislike mowing yards. Lawn mowers use a paddle type oil disbursement that basically just splashes the oil around in the case. This case a split weight oil to separate there in you have to light an oil in the case and a to heavy oil in the case. Guess which oil gets sucked our the breather tube? Then guess which oil gets trapped in the sump. Doesn't take much imagination what happens to the piston after that. So Paul there's some ideas to check if you still have the same issue,
Paul- Little late on response but just now saw your question. Your likely problem with oil leaking or being slung into your breather air filter is the oil breather which operates like a PCV (positive crankshaft ventilation) on a car. Oil pressure builds up and is released through this oil breather (PCV)and then drains back into the engine. This thing is usually a reed breather or little plastic like flexible tab that opens up a bit when pressure builds up. When this reed breather wears out it allows too much oil to be pushed with pressure past the reed breather, and instead of draining back into the engine the pressure pushes the oil out into the carb/breather. This reed breather is usually located in the valve cover or on a plate adjacent the flywheel. It is easy to change and inexpensive.

this is frustraiting, i've had my my starter rope fixed twice because it gets cut...The second time i tried removing the 3 top bolts myself, but only 1 came off, the other 2 keep turning....so i gave up and someone else fixed it. Now it needs to be changed again and got 2 of the 3 bolts off, only 1 keeps turning and turning why...wth am I doing wrong???? I ALSO GOT THE KOHLER engine, not the TORO
The nuts securing the recoil starter and top cover are threaded on a long blot that is screwed into the engine block. If the bolts are not secured tightly the whole bolt will unscrew from the block instead of just the nut. If you keep turning the nut the entire bolt should come out of the block. If you do have to remove the entire bolt make sure you tighten it good or this may happen again. You can also use a little Loctite on the threads to help keep it secure in the engine block.
Oh i love you and the price of all the gaskets that its gonna take to rebuild all my shit.
