    your fear of getting bit is adorable, however in my experience it is the basins and northens that go for the hottest thing near them when they smell food, chondro's care about movement and are not all that worried about heat.

    Always something valuable to learn in your videos!! I’ve gone back and forth with using substrate with chondros. The number 1 reason I always decide to go back to paper towel is during feeding time when they take the food to the floor and drag it through the substrate is so anxiety inducing. I will definitely be trying that paper shield trick. Thanks for sharing!!!

    The reality of the market is that breeder expenses have gone up astronomically over the last 2 years. Prices should be going up to reflect that. People dropping prices to sell animals are creating an unsustainable market condition.

    • @gsreptiles5606
      @gsreptiles5606  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I've been doing this for 40 years. The market will always sustain. Many breeders however will not. Thanks for watching!

    • @adamhopkins5497
      @adamhopkins5497 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The reality of the market is that it’s a luxury item market, and the economy is horrible. Inflation is insane. That has drastically lowered demand, and the influx of new breeders from COVID has increased the supply. Most markets go up and down with the economy, but luxury items are extra sensitive to it.

    I don't think I have watched other people feeding their snakes other than my students who are feeding during training sessions. I am so used to the snakes earning reinforcement (food) contingent upon doing a cued behavior first, it looked so weird to me to just see the snake being given the food like that. Wild. I have about 128 snakes and I usually spend 30-60 seconds per snake unless I am teaching them a new behavior or asking then to do a behavior chain or complicated before then it takes longer.

    I acquired two CB22 Savus this summer. Both have a ‘striking’ feeding response, but one of them gets soo wired and just keeps striking (defensively?) and doesn’t have the best aim (too much concussion from striking?), but hopefully will settle down once out of quarantine.
    Lovely species ☺️
