    I must be getting old. I can remember when the discharge chutes were made of metal. 😊 Good job, Chad! Very easy to replace.

      I remember those metal ones too. I wish they were still metal. Our Gravely rider had a heavy deck with just as heavy of a discharge chute. That thing would probably last through my grandchildrens’ lifetime!

      Advance chute blocker? I’m going to have to look that up. I’ve never heard of it. Maybe I need one!

    I have a small John Deere riding lawn mower with a plastic chute. The chute breaks if you hit anything with it. I drilled a small hole on the outside edge of the chute and attached a small nylon cord. Now when I get near anything it may hit and break, I simply pull up on the cord so it will clear the obstacle. When I am passed, I drop the cord and let the chute go back to it full down position. Kind of a pain, but so is buying a new chute every five minutes.

      Sounds exactly like something someone wise would do! Great idea.

    I had my new IPhone jump out of my tractor and get run over by the flail mower…bungee cords are cheap, phones not so much! Does that mower have a deck flush out plug and what are your thoughts on those?

      I’m glad I haven’t had that experience with my phone! :) The deck does have the flush out plug. I’ve tried it once. I didn’t think it did great, and I’ve heard that it’s potentially a way to decrease the life of the spindles/bearings in the deck.

      Jennifer is always on me about washing the mower after each use. I do like when it’s clean and shiny - but don’t have the time nor the desire to wash it every time I use it. I teasingly tell her that I can’t wash it because I’m afraid the water will make it shrink. :) But I do sometimes wonder if washing it too much would potentially make it rust faster. Any thoughts on that?

    $65 for a piece of plastic.. all that recycled plastic making it's way back lol

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is an expensive piece. I think we all know it probably doesn’t cost much at all to manufacture. But I convince myself that I’m paying for the safety factor, more than the production price. :)
