My father was in the polish 2nd corps during the second world war,he told me the few occasions he felt inclined to talk about the battle at Monte Cassino as well as making his way across Africa, until settling and making roots in Sheffield until his passing in 1990.He had a lot of admiration for General Sikowski he proudly served under.I will have to pay a visit to this memorial on behalf of my father.
