I have watched this video about 20 times, and the more I see it the more I'm impressed. I'm surprised how people disrespect someone saving their life. The reason so many people responded is because its "all hands on deck". If you worked in Manhattan and seen the EMS get stuck in traffic, you have to rely on anyone getting there. The people who are disrespecting these volunteers, God Bless their hearts. The funny part about the haters is, its not about the religion. Its about getting someone whomever to help save that persons life. Each year in the U.S., there are approximately 359,400 Emergency Medical Services (EMS)-assessed cardiac arrests outside of a hospital setting and on average, less than 10% of victims survive. Cardiac arrest affects people of all ages, but occurs more commonly in adults with prior heart disease. AED's ( automated external defibrillator) (AED), with CPR can more than double a victim’s chance of survival. I have seen a lot of incidents both in NY and Boston and all over. A lot of people don't want to get involved but it does not matter how many respond. They can show up dressed as Santa Claus or with a superman costume. If they save a life they are a hero. For people still disrespecting Hatzola and / or FDNY, believe me if it was your loved one or you who are in full arrest you would welcome anyone to help save your life. Finally, there response times are remarkable and they are on call and leave their jobs to respond. I would like you see this video of an ambulance stuck in traffic th-cam.com/video/l3hOBeQvc3M/w-d-xo.html or this video th-cam.com/video/jpyOgAs5XdI/w-d-xo.html Ok this one is even better th-cam.com/video/bkJ-Js7fuoI/w-d-xo.html
Finally, For every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation, however, the chances of survival decrease by 7-10%,

The story was..! The Queen's Hatzolah (EMS volunteer org.) recovered a phone call for an 'Cardiac Arrest' with an unknown exact location by the caller, so they send multiple units around the possible area to locate the exact address, at the end the caller connected the units by their sirens...

+Jb 007 There is nothing illegal about their lights and sirens in NYC. NYC Council has their own regulations for emergency vehicles under REMSCO code. NYC Council permits volunteer rescue groups to use lights and sirens servicing 5 boroughs of NY. Outside of NYC like upstate NY counties, rules and regulations for volunteer groups are different for each county. Hatzolah is not the only volunteer group that uses lights and sirens. They're just the largest volunteer EMS in North East region.

People playing emergency responder.... I read in this comment section that they were responding to "a" cardiac arrest... Do you really need 7 vehicles weaving through traffic, against traffic, U turns in a crowded street like that? 7 people! I got it. One to hold the victims head, 1 to hold each arm, 1 to hold each leg, 1 to give CPR, 1 to watch the patient be given CPR.. Like I said, to me, it's people playing emergency responder on very congested streets. Basically, It's all for show...

Get on scene and literally form a line, take turns doing compressions.

Don’t understand the negativity towards Hatzolah/Hatzalah, I work in EMS and previously worked in law enforcement and we as professionals have worked alongside my local Hatzolah EMS volunteers since their inception. Let me tell you, no matter what they will drop whatever they’re doing and respond in mass, I’m talking 6-7 deep to a scene across town from where they live and be there within 5 minutes. That’s 6-7 EMTs and paramedics arriving on a scene in 5 minutes. The County EMS covers my suburb and takes 10 minutes on average to make scene. Hatzolah is an invaluable and remarkably dedicated group of people.

    Hi.
I see from the messages that you guys don't know how Hatzolah operates...
On a event like this eg. "Cardiac arrest" there will be several units responding.
    • 3 EMTs to rotate CPR (it's exhausting..)
    • 2 Paramedics
    • 1 unit to bring the ambulance
    • As well sometimes they can send a 3rd unit called a "Thumper unit" witch Carries a thumper machine witch dues CPR automatically and is very effective.
Now the reason why they go in their own car, that's the whole point....
Basically Hatzolah opened in NYC where there is a very long wait time for FDNY EMS
so what Hatzolah dues is they take random EMTs,paramedics, physicians, Etc. who have regular jobs and the one with the closest proximity will answer the call.
How ever they are brilliant in response time!
My nephew was chocking once in the lower East side of Manhattan and Hatzolah was there in literally 45 Seconds!!!!!
    This is unbelievable!
I know that they get mandatory driving training once every month!

We have them in Sydney, they come under "Community First Responder" and are trained by the Ambulance Service of NSW. Other services also receive this training and act as community first responders in remote areas such as the rural fire service, state emergency service etc etc. In Sydney they are also used for non-jewish customers if there is no other ambulance around, that is part of being part of the community first responder program. So in Sydney they serve anyone in need.

Absolutely ridiculous. Hatzolah decorates their personal vehicles like obnoxious Christmas trees. Sirens, airhorns, rumblers. They've become something out of a Dr. Suess cartoon. Driving stupid and dangerously in traffic. They seem to forget they are volunteers. Enough is enough. New York needs to put a stop to this foolishness. Yes, they provide a lifesaving service, in some cases. But the reality is, nobody knows who they are in traffic. NYPD, FBI, NYSP, etc... Only in NYC do you see this kind of over the top stupidness. Give them a green volunteer light, and take away all the reds, blues, white, multiple sirens and airhorns, and all the other abuses of the emergency vehicle bravado.

While Nyc-Ems was working on the child, NYPD put the Jewish man in a Hatzolah ambulance because he was being beaten by a mob. The cops told Hatzolah take the jewish man away from the scene and this is why they left fast.

The cars and personnel operating them in this video are volunteer EMS personnel from Hatzbola ( prob spelled wrong, sry) Volunteer Ambulance service. I know they operate in Queens and Brooklyn, not sure about the other 3 boroughs. They're allowed by NYC law to have and use red, blue, and whatever other color lights and sirens installed in their personal vehicles. They must take and pass a EVOC ( Emergency Vehicle Operating Course). Some members respond with their vehicles to the scene while other member or members go to Quarters, get the bus and respond with that. I've seen them many times over the yrs responding with their personal cars to jobs and it does sound like WW3 has just begun. Their bus( ambulance) has multiple sirens and air horns like a Fire Truck. I give them credit for volunteering their time to help others in need, but they do need to b smart about their driving. The first couple on scene need 2 radio for the others to slow down when they aren't needed. Also blasting the sirens at all hours of the night isn't necessary either for most jobs unless some1 is bleeding out or in full arrest and likely. I was a volunteer FF for 10 yrs in Nassau County NY and we weren't allowed any sirens or red lights in our personal cars. We were allowed blue lights on the dash, but that isn't to go through red lights and disobey traffic laws, it's just a "courtesy light" for people in front of u to move to the right to let u pass. The only sirens in the volunteer Fire Departments are on the rigs and the Chiefs car, which is a marked car, usually a SUV.

      3. All this for wrong address and no one could convey that to 10 units that showed up and kept showing up?
      4. Running red is allowed but they have to completely stop, which not a single soul did in this case.

A common myth is they only respond to Jews, which is false, they will respond to anyone needing aid in their area. How they are dispatched differs between groups. They are all volunteer. @@rronaldreagan you should know that they help relieve a lot of pressure off the NYC 911 EMS system and offer emergency medical services to all who call their dispatch number. Volunteer EMS POVs must use green lights in New York State, unless the vehicle is registered as an ambulance vehicle, and that's what Hatzolah did, and they had to put ALS gear (excluding stretchers) into the POVs, in order to make this technicality work.
