Babe wake up the teriyaki series is BACK!!!!!!
LETS GOOO!!
Why did I read that in Andy Cook's voice?
Never clicked so fast fr
LETSGOOO
we are SO back... are the dumplings blistered? is the dressing sweet? was the chicken sliced before it was grilled? time to find out...
Now THAT is a view. The water, the skyline, the pontoon plane taking off. Primo backdrop for a teriyaki review.
Quintissential Seattle sh*t
Most anticipated series returns!!!
love the random water plane taking off in the background, welcome to Seattle ig
How I missed these. Thank you. Hope all is well.
It's amazing to me how quickly Kenji analyzes his food. No sooner has he taken a bite than he's describing the whole flavor profile.
You're right in the middle Of the tech sector of downtown. At least 50,000 employees of Amazon, Google, Meta, all are in walking distance to Midori. All these highly paid engineers probably don't even look at their receipts. So, that's likely why so expensive. Also the convention centers are just right there, so they see a ton of foot traffic from events.
Perfect thirds framing of the Space Needle (lovely dinner partner!)
Glad you're back! We used your tour to try Rainier when we visited Seattle a few weeks ago. Thanks!
Looks like teriyaki's back on the menu boys!
Yes! A boat house tour would be so cool
Your new houseboat looks like a dream come true man that view is immaculate
Love your new pad! The Kenmore Air seaplanes are so awesome. The Space Needle, and entire Seattle skyline from the north. I sure miss Seattle. Your reviews offer a lot of nostalgia along with great food reviews!
The garlic spicy chicken is my favorite from Midori, maybe not worth traveling for, but if you’re in the area around lunch time it’s not a bad option.
I used to live on a house "boat" (technically, these are house barges, with no locomotion of their own) and it's a lot of fun. But it takes a special kind of fortitude to live on one in the winter in NY lol.
On Seattle's Lake Union, there are both houseboats and floating homes, separated for the most part in their own communities. Floating homes, like the one used in Sleepless in Seattle, are much different than the houseboats, they are basically single family homes, hooked up to Seattle city utilities, and very difficult to move.
@@johmhill7312 Yes. I lived in a floating home, aka a house barge - no self locomotion, 2br 1 ba and 2 full stories. Kenji's looks to me to be too big to be a houseboat (which would have a motor and generally a lot less living area, and no traditional roof) but I could be wrong. Or perhaps it's different coastally, but in general, barge = large, floating home, no motor, with hookups, and boat means you can move it around.
Salad add on is crazy!
Kenji flexing with that view 🙌
This was my lunch for years pre covid! ❤
Congratulations on the new spot! It's gorgeous.
Garlic Spicy is their signature, cannot recommend enough. Thanks for reviewing them!
That'll teach Kenji not to take any more breaks from the Teriyaki Tour. Inflation doubled the price of his standard order in only three weeks... Glad to see the series resume!!
Can't wait to see videos from the new houseboat location. That spectacular view from the deck is amazing.
No idea why this channel popped up in my feed but I'm so glad it did! :D
The garlic spicy teriyaki lives up to the hype, I've been ordering from them downtown for about a year and it's consistently great
First non-tour video from the new "office", excited to see more.
Boat vibes are immaculate btw. What a view.
Great location. Also a short Seattle flat, ride to a lot of great neighborhoods and food options. I used to live close to Midori and ate there quite often, but the best items were not the teriyaki. I would just usually just get the special.
Welcome back sir! I gave The Food Lab to my mom for Mother's Day and she LOVES it! I do too. It now lives next to her Fannie Farmer cookbook. Two absolute legends in her kitchen. Love you!
Love the new view. Thats one my favorite views of Seattle.
I love Midori's spicy chicken teriyaki. Used to go to that place all the time pre-Covid.
Woo Hoo! the Teriyaki Safari continues!
The spicy garlic is definitely what they are known for! Worth trying as an alternative take on Seattle Teriyaki.
I see Midori Teriyaki every time I go to Market House Meats for reubens. However, the call of reubens has always overwhelmed any desire to get teriyaki...
Yes! The Teriyakinator is back.
Beautiful view!!! Love watching your videos...makes me miss Seattle so much though! (not to mention that Switzerland's food is boring and bland compared to the varieties available in Seattle). Cheers from Zurich!
I was wondering if I had somehow missed a few. And how dare you have a personal life. You're Ours only!
This was a regular of mine 18-20 years ago. Back when that order would have been 7 bucks max. Points for longevity.
The checkout system looks like a nightmare
Hey Kenji, you should start bringing a reusable bag to avoid using those thin single use ones. I'm not sure about Seattle's recycling or if these bags are recyclable at all, but they look like the ones NY/NJ banned a while ago. Cheers!
Congratulations on the new place Kenji, you really buried the lede on that!
Pretty nice view!!
I’m not an expert or anything, but that spicy garlic chicken is pretty excellent. I work around the corner and that green bag is and the smell of the spicy garlic chicken is pretty common.
Edit: I watched the rest of the video, my comment is just redundant 😅
My friends and I love going to Midori and getting the spicy garlic combo. For us, that sauce is delicious. I’ve never had the regular teriyaki sauce from Midori
I find it exciting that at some point you could be eating on the deck while RC Test Flight is on the water with a solar powered boat in the background and we'd never know
Seattle's Best Teriyaki & Pho
Used to be my go to
I can't wait for you to try the Spicy Chicken Teriyaki with the house garlic sauce at Teriyaki Plus in Kirkland. It's family run and easily one of my favorites in the Greater Seattle Area.
The spicy garlic sauce is where it's at!
This place is so good
im so glad were back
YAY, glad you're back!
We thought you forgot about us but happy you back!
Was watching this last night like when’s the series gonna be back? Clicked on this thinkin this was old
IT'S BACKKKK! I can finally update all my seattle friends about new places.
The content that I've been waiting for! It's back!!
Oh thank goodness i was beginning to worry that he had just hopped out for some cigarettes 🥲
background so beautiful, it looks like a greenscreen
🍚🥢🥷 theKLA teriyakuza is back and laying down the slaw!
Do they know youre coming and cook accordingly? Your nasai review was spot on
You gotta try Nikko Teriyaki in Kent, WA. Not to be confused with Nikko in West Seattle
Long ago, Seattle lived in harmony. Then, everything changed when the yelp reviewers attacked. Only Kenji Lopez-Alt, master of all things teriyaki, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A month has passed and the youtube algorithm and I discovered the new Kenji, a teriyaki eater named Kenji Lopez-Main, and although his eating skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Kenji Lopez-Main can save the Seattle.
On a house boat?! Kenji just classed up the series 🙌🏻
You didn't try the dumplings first 😢 glad you're back doing these
I think I’m now officially too old to pay these current prices for takeout. I’m like the guy on those insurance commercials with the homeowners that are turning into their parents. $19 for a salad.
I'm a little worried that if Kenji keeps going with this series, he's going to turn into a giant piece of teriyaki chicken. So KLA, if you're reading this, you have at least one follower who won't hold it against you if you decide you've had enough 😁👍
Yes!! Back in business, baby!!
Thank goodness. I was suffering from teriyaki withdrawal
As a Seattleite, I NEED a good recipe for the salad dressing that comes with teriyaki
I just looked up the price of these house boats...you're making some good money Kenji.
Whenever tou hit all the teriyaki, id love to see you do all the best chicken katsu places.
Please do a 4th of July Livestream. You're gonna have a great view of the fireworks show.
Yes, I second this!
I more often get spicy teriyaki now just because I kinda got tired of regular sweeter teriyaki sauce. So maybe spicy 6-7 times as often.
Welcome back to the teriyaki trail.
Would love to see a top three at the end of this project
Damn kenji got houseboat money 😳
Sweet boat! Enjoy That.
FINALLY HE DOES MY SPOT!!
Is dipping the salad in dressing as opposed to drizzling it on top or tossing it in dressing a teriyaki salad etiquette thing or just a “Kenji doesn’t want the salad to get soggy” thing?
Man the price to food ratio straight up kills any hope of it being good in my eyes loool. Glad it tasted good at least
We are so back!
I wonder if this was one of those ghost kitchens? Kinda looked like it.
Lettssgooooo!!!!!!!
hey you're back however i understand the teriyaki burnout.
Boss boat!
The TariyaKing has returned
Than, god he’s back
The Return!
Did you tip, Kenji?
Yayyy! The teriyaki is back!
we back, baby
Address on the video is incorrect -- that was Howell St. Not University Wy.
gotta try the garlic spicy
👍👍
we are so back
You’ve been missed Kenji!! I hope everything in your personal life is better now and it’s not what I think it is…
Loving the boathouse!!
I think he was visiting his parents in Boston as some videos were filmed there just my guess
Jesus $23? I know you said thats pricey but how much is it usually? I'd thinking paying more than like 15 max is robbery.
I get at least 2, and often 3, meals out of a typical teriyaki order. There is a lot of chicken and rice, and it helps amortize the price. But $23 is still much higher than average for Seattle.
Midori is in range of the Amazon offices, which unlike other big tech ones have no cafeterias of their own.
I believe he's noted that the normal range for a combo is like, $14-16. He mentions that it used to be like, $11-13, but it's gone up in recent years, as everything has.
yay more teriyaki!
YES
Go to Hangry Panda... Gluten Free Teriyaki!
Market house meats. They are known for their pastrami.
