Hi Teachers I know it is January already, but I have been working on this teacher vlog and I wanted to share it because it's better late than never, right!? :) Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle up on a cold, snowy day. I hope you ENJOY this LONG vlog! I will share with you a few weeks in the life of a second grade teacher! I am in my classroom for the majority of the video, but you will also get to meet a few of our family members that were in town for Christmas, as well! Enjoy a vlog full of school before the holidays, ice skating, skiing, games, and MORE! :)

Love the idea of Tattle Turtle. I work with kids during the summers in a womens bible study program that offers child care. Last year we had a tattle, he kept tattling when kids wouldn't play with him.

Hey there! 😀 I hope the new year is going well for you! 😀 I love your classroom setup, and how you have created a safe space for your students. I officially completed my Master's degree in Elementary Education in October 2017! 😀 I am hoping to start teaching in August of next year! 😀 Your videos give me much inspiration for my future classroom! 😀 Communication is very important. Documentation is so key when talking with parents. Behavior phone calls are hard to make, but they are important as it is important that all students have a safe, comfortable, and motivating environment to learn and grow in academically, socially, and emotionally.

Love your vlogs. I teach 2nd grade too so its nice to hear another 2nd grade teacher talk about their experiences. This is my first full time year in 2nd, but I subbed for 2nd since 2016...and I have had an issue with stealing EVERY year. Either stealing prizes from a prize box, or stealing from my desk (like my fun paper clips and stuff), or stealing from other kids. It's so frustrating! Every year I like to think I get a little more savvy though :D

Hi Karlie! Thank you for your kind words! I have taught K, 3rd, and I am currently in 2nd. My favorite is probably 2nd because they are at the perfect age - they are still "babies" and have a yearning for learning, they love their teachers, and want to do well. However, they are also starting to become more independent, which is a huge plus! :) I am so excited for you! Good luck!!!

Hi Jessica, if you wanting any ideas on how to help the little guy with autism, let me know, my mom works with children with autism in your grade level.
I have a question! Did you address the group of students involved in the candy cane kidnapping or the whole class??
I addressed the group as a whole at first just to talk about honesty and integrity, but once I found out who it was for this specific issue, I addressed those students privately and individually. The last thing I want to do is embarrass a child. :) No one else had to know.
