Honestly this is why Hyorin is my fave performer of all the Kpop girls. I'm not gonna whip out 'rival' names cos it tends to bring out the worst in fans, but her stage presence compared to others is paralysing. She looks straight through the camera, really holds that gaze, there's no spaghetti arms (Jooyoung, I'm lookin' at you kid) - she places her hands perfectly and that energy is held right to her fingertips and to the beat. You can train people to be good or better at this sort of artistry but for her it feels so innate!! I love Jooyoung and he's a fab singer but compared to Hyorin on stage, he does look very boyish (look at those shifty awkward eyes at 1:57!! Hehehe so adorable!). And then Hyorin, even if its for a split second (3:23) her gaze is piercing and intentional and intense! I know they're the same age, but she looks miles maturer than him just by how they hold themselves on stage (and yes, I'm aware, Hyorin has way more experience - it's apparent). Oh and I love Hyorin even more for her off-stage super dorky, loud-cackle awesomeness. Like the Jennifer Lawrence of Kpop lol. Side note: I love the confetti. Can we have that red confetti floating down at the end of every performance? No? Too pricey? This performance seemed extra special - can someone tell me why? Does Show Champion have a bigger audience? Bigger budget? The sound levels were perfect on this one. Sometimes the vocals are too loud vs backing track but this was perfect.
I gotta agree with you for next to all of this, but usually Jooyoung keeps a good stare with the camera in other performances. This one he seemed kind of nervous to look at it as you said. Their stage presence seems similar, just at different stages in excellence. In years time I'm sure he'll get better. I think he's learning from her :)
