Fun fact: If I am remembering correctly Nero's original concept design was to have him be like a tea drinking Sherlock Holmes type of character or something like that. Dressed fancy and wearing glasses. Instead we got the Nero we see now. A brash foul mouthed young man who gladly kick people's butt yet at time a surprisingly wholesome guy.
That first scene with Nero in the library was actually a reference to his original demeanor. The creators wanted nero to be more like a Sherlock Holmes character who was smooth and smart, so him catching the lance with the book is a reference to the original plan.
I'd love to see this in the next DMC game, maybe someone related to Dante that he completely forgot, similar Vergil being a deadbeat dad for Nero. Nero being more similar to Dante with his cocky arrrogance and Dante's kid being more similar to Vergil with intellectual sass
@@kilnareth7970 I mean... If we stretch the bubblegum, we could say that V it's like Vergil's child in some way, and he is like a sassy and smart version of Nero in a way.
@21:13 ""From that day forth... my arm changed... and a voice echoed, "Power. Give me more power!" And if I become a demon, so be it. I will endure the exile. Anything to protect her." -Nero One of the best moments in the franchise Important Line For the DMC5 theme '' Devil Trigger" the opening lyric "I'll endure the exile"
One of the things cut from the game that got put into a novel is how Nero got the arm. That fade to black where we hear Nero calling for Kyrie is supposed to be that moment. At some point the Nelo Angelo armor (the one Mundus trapped Vergil in in 1) and broken Yamato washed up on the shores of Fortuna. It's believed they were attracted to Nero but The Order finds them and opens a Hellgate. They built those suits of armor as an imitation of Nelo Angelo but couldn't get the sword working. Anyways there's an attack a few months before the game and Nero gets his arm bitten by a demon protecting Kyrie. Instead of his getting bitten off though he has mini Devil Trigger and kills the demon. Only he can't turn it off because he doesn't fully understand it much less accept the idea of him being a demon. A theory many had and what Nero probably thought was it is a parasite but no it's his own power. Again he was originally going to have a whole mechanic around absorbing demon powers and switching his arm's abilities. Instead we get him just being able to grapple people which the video guy is doing a very poor job of showing off. DMCV definitely has some of the cooler looking ones but DMC4 has a ton more unique Buster animations. My favorite is one done on a later enemy specifically in DT mode.
I remember I had so much fun fuckin suplexing people with the Buster in 4, that I thought I'd never have as much fun playing Dante as I did using Nero in dmc4. Then dmc5 came along and Dante's gameplay blew me away.
Nero's Devil Bringer in this game is definitely just a parasite and from some other demonic force, there's a new one in 5 and that is from his own power.
Oh that would have been interesting seeing his arm absorb new abilities. I guess they finally adapted that concept with the Devil Breaker in DMC V, though I have to admit it’s a little less cool than if it were coming from his arm’s power.
@@iReiGNxx My theory for DMC 6 is he just absorbs the Devil Breakers. They do what they do because they have demon bits in them. Either way we do still get some of it but it's just basic unlocks like Snatch, loot detection, and hold for shield. Also you can count Yamato for letting him have a stand which while we thought was his ability it's really Yamato's. I don't think it's to crazy to believe they'll scrap breakable arms either when the series is full of scrapped and reworked mechanics. It'd be cool if they could put them in a spin off game but I think enough people have said they don't like the Breaker system compared to style switching to justify scrapping it. The only thing people would miss is Breakage moves but those could easily be folded into DT. Especially Nero has a whole extra button.
Fun fact about the knights. I cant remember the names but I think its something along the lines of Bianca Angelo. But they're actually created by infusing pieces of Nelo Angelo's armor, which we know was Vergil in a weird big demon body in DMC1 like a person trapped within a person who seemingly blew up into smithereens after Dante beat him for good. So basically they for some reason created lesser versions of Nelo Angelo as their bulk of footsoldiers.

It's really tough trying to sell a new main character alongside Dante when Dante is such this beloved character already, and I think they did a great job of giving us enough of Nero's personality and keeping us intrigued by everything going on around him. It was fun to theorise about when the game came out because Nero definitely has a significant amount of demonic power, and he definitely somehow repaired Vergil's Yamato in a time of need. Also side note: When Agnus said a "an extremely powerful Devil's Arm" it's not in the same sense as Nero, that is just the term used for weapons with demonic power, like Yamato.

I kinda enjoy sitting here and thinking "soon..." like some kind of clichee movie villain, while hearing you speculate on what certain things mean, questioning the motivations of some characters and still speculating on neros origin and connection to Dante. Well one thing is for sure: If they are related (as you have guessed since part one) and since Nero saw dante for the first time while he killed whats basicly the pope of the religion in Neros home area, then that beats even the most akward familyreunions I've ever heard of xD
Adding to that, Dante is the son of the very demon that the religion worships and he shot the pope in the face for doing things that contradicted what Sparda was trying to do in the first place. There’s some raw irony here lol
actually Kirie is not really Nero's sister, both were adopted by this church, but they do not share any bond, except for friendship since their childhood
Yes guys that is indeed the yamato vergil's sword now to tell you how it got shattered basically remember in dmc 3 when vergil fell down and fought mundus ? "the dark prince" well, basically vergil got his ass handed to him and he enslaved vergil and broke the yamato thats why vergil was corrupted in dmc 1 when dante fought him that was the product of what mundus did to vergil a broken down corrupted warrior
I have loved your reactions for 6 months, despite the fact that I do not speak English (I am using a translator) your gestures and reactions tell me everything, much love and affection from Mexico. Something that I would like is that they react to the monster intros in "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate".
The first time I saw the yamato on my first play through all those years ago I screamed HELL YES!!!,it was 3 in the morning my parents were not impressed :)
Nero isn't possessed by Vergil's spirit, what's happening is a bit more....mundane then that. Don't want to spoil it right now but pay close attention to Nero's dialogue and mannerisms and ask yourself why Nero was able to repair Vergil's sword and Agnus couldn't.
Hey if you're interested, I recommend checking out a couple combo makers from this game. The game probably has the deepest combat system out of literally any game ever, and I'm not being hyperbolic. The gameplay of better players can legitimately just look like art at times. It's just nuts the amount of precision some of these people have. If you're interested people like Donguri would be a good start as he's the most popular. Just a thought. Also a video showing off all of Nero's busters(The grab attacks) would be a great video seeing as the player in this isn't really showing them off and many are a sight to behold.
I think it would be worth seeing a combo video in the game at some point after the story. This game has some insane combat this compilation doesn't quite capture
Not a spoiler since its only on manga/novel; Dante and Lucia from DMC2 where the ones that got the Yamato shards from hell. After DMC2 ending when Lucia hears the motorcycle(Dante arriving) they face a demon called Balrog that had one of the shard and was using it to get out of hell. Fun fact: the only weapons Dante had at the time was rebellion and Cerberus cause he sold the rest to pay whatever But sadly Cerberus got destroyed during the fight
Not quite right. The shards washed off to Fortuna and the Order picked them up and tried to put them together. Balrog only had one shard in his hands before Dante broke it into unwieldable molecules. The fight with Balrog took place in the DMC5 Prequel Novel, which states that the events of DMC2 took place 10-11 years and the events of DMC4 took place 6 years before DMC5. Also: R.I.P. OG Cerberus
@@solracstormhunter3023 Although I've since heard that the events of DMC2 were so poorly taken by the community the writers have since said that they're only 'partially canon'. I've yet to hear tell how true that is, but most people choose to ignore 2 ever happened, and that it's probably to be taken as a 'myth' in the lore of DMC. Also, we know that Dante PROBABLY sold all the stuff from 1 and 3 to pay off his MASSIVE debt to Trish and Lady following the events of the anime, which is also canon. I won't go into why to avoid spoilers for the anime AND for 4 and 5, though.
I don't consider this a real spoiler, just pointing out a detail that would probably go over your head if you don't know it beforehand, as it happened with me: the guy with a stutter has daughter called Nico Goldstein, who happens to be granddaughter of the woman who created Dante's handguns. Nico appears in Devil May Cry V as the team's engineer,/mechanic/armorer/chauffer, and I didn't really know where she came from until I was told that she's Agnus's daughter.

Not sure if you guys would’ve seen yet, but if you’re looking for more Guilty Gear content to react to the newest character was just revealed and released. Her name is Bridget, and since she was pretty much released the same day as the announcement all of the trailers are already out and there’s plenty of videos of her finishing moves and things like that.
I really hope you guys don't get spoiled for dmc5...damn I can't wait for that. I beat dmc5 a solid handful of times and it never ceases to remain fun AF.
well, most of your question will be answered at the next cutscenes I guess? Tho the biggest one will have to wait till you do DMC5, as they really try not to mention that guy in DMC4
Glad you are loving it so far. Dont worry youll see more Dante :) I personally am kinda annoyed at how the person who made the video just mashes buttons, but thats just me. Would have been interesting to see you guys react to cool combos, but i get its a story video, not a gameplay one. Anyway, excited to see more!
Well we will probably be button mashing on our end as well. Though not the gun. Why use just the gun? If you are going to spam then just use his fist or sword 😛
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames id actually rather see more sword swinging, yes. Haha. I do believe in your gaming skills though, im sure both of you will be able to pull off at least a couple of moves. The game demonstrates each move in the pause menu anyway. I also think the person youre watching is playing on easy mode, just to showcase the story, because in higher difficulties, the gun barely does any damage compared to melee attacks.
The Alto and the Bianco Angelo are so annoyingly tanky, they can be so unforgiving on the highest difficulty. Bianco is the lance knight, Alto is the sword knight, if I remember it correctly.
Nero is great character alongside Dante. There's a reason he can wield Yamato. He's closely related to Sparda, Dante and Vergil. You'll find out in DMC 5.
It'd be cool to have a trilogy of games with a anti hero protagonist like Dante to start off as the anti hero throughout the trilogy becomes darker and finally would after listening to the villains plan actually joins them and helps achieved the goal
Dante coming Back , Character you love it make apparition !!! , Nero very Interresting and have connection with Yamato , Vergil and Dante. Gloria it's funny and Interresting Twist. Dante and Nero Perfect You love it !!!!
Enjoying these vids, it's cool hearing what you guys have to say. A shame that the person playing the game for the video you're watching sucks at it so bad though lmao.
You’ll figure out Nero and Dante’s relation later on, if you haven’t found out already. Although you’re pretty darn close in the beginning of the video. Nero isn’t possessed, that’s his own innate power slowly awakening. Yes, Yamato is Vergil’s sword that was given to him by his father.
Whoever's doing the gameplay in that video _really_ likes to abuse that gun button. I don't think I've seen anyone play it like that... though I haven't watched all that many playthroughs. What they choose to show from their gameplay is a bit odd, too - no attempt to edit down boring parts, like when he got himself eaten by the toad three times directly in a row. That said, it's cool that videos like it exist, so you can get the experience of a game's story in some kind of cohesive manner, rather than abrupt cuts between cutscenes which are ten-twenty minutes apart in normal gameplay.
Sometimes we edit the boring gameplay out. But kept it in this time because we couldn’t tell if it was just us. Next three vids will have some cut down gameplay. Though can’t cut it all out cuz then it would be too jarring so there will still be painful gameplay moments 🤗
Don't worry, you'll find out who Gloria truly is later on during your reactions with this. And yes the Yamato is indeed Vergil's sword, I don't want to spoil too much for ya, many things can be answered in DMC5.
This "Gamer's Little Playground" should be banned from action games. On other topic, DMC4 also has better qulity cutscenes from Pachinko iteration, but they are even more random than MGS3 ones. Although, unlike MGS3 ones, there are actually few cutscenes that were not in proper game (i.e new ones)
Haha, yeah they do a good job putting necessary cutscenes in and gameplay needed. Just their gameplay isn’t always good 🤗 going to cut out more of action scenes going forward
Since you guys seemed to enjoy the Guilty Gear series I have good news. There is both a new character trailer and a new music video if you guys would be interested

21:55 - Nero's Devil Trigger. And yes that bug demon. That's Agnus' "Angel" form
22:05 - Yeah its a long story on how the Yamato got bent.
22:20 - DING DING DING DING! YOU ANSWERED CORRECTLY! NERO'S DAD IS THE MOTIVATED ALPHA AND OMEGA, VERGIL HIMSELF
28:08 - Yeah, Sanctus already knows who she is.
28:43 - Low blow inbound
*Ken:* "You know nothing Nero."
*Nero:* "I beg to differ."
Perfect timing
I know right? 😂
I love this game. And when I see people doing combos, it makes the game even cooler.Because the fight feels like a cutscene
Yeah it would’ve been nice if gameplay was better so we could see those cool combos 🤗
I dont believe that I'll wait one more week to watch another part of this incredible journey, I love this franchise. Thanks 😊
Our pleasure. Sorry for the wait 🤗😇
Yamato is Vergil sword and Nero restored it. It left u a clue when Nero said "Power....Give me more power."
@@iReiGNxx Exactly xD
@@iReiGNxx It'd basically be like if Jesus decended from the heavens, and shot the pope point blank in the face with a 1911 during a surmount.
😂 the only thing awkward about Dante 😜
Yea dats Vergil's sword im not gonna say anything else to give out any spoilers but yea da Yamato is vergil's sword. Nice piecing together.
Thanks for confirming 🙂
Moths are often associated with shapeshifting. That is indeed Vergil's sword.
😎👍🙂
actually Kirie is not really Nero's sister, both were adopted by this church, but they do not share any bond, except for friendship since their childhood
😎👍🙂
Yes guys that is indeed the yamato vergil's sword now to tell you how it got shattered basically remember in dmc 3 when vergil fell down and fought mundus ? "the dark prince" well, basically vergil got his ass handed to him and he enslaved vergil and broke the yamato thats why vergil was corrupted in dmc 1 when dante fought him that was the product of what mundus did to vergil a broken down corrupted warrior
Yeah the manga visions of V explain that.
Ah okay. Thanks for explaining that 🙂
To make things less weird in the future. Nero is adopted
Thanks! 🙂
Nero just has a Yamato DT, same with Dante and Vergil's Beowulf DT forms.
I have loved your reactions for 6 months, despite the fact that I do not speak English (I am using a translator) your gestures and reactions tell me everything, much love and affection from Mexico.
Something that I would like is that they react to the monster intros in "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate".
Thanks so much for the kind words. Mh4 intros is on our request list 🤗
The first time I saw the yamato on my first play through all those years ago I screamed HELL YES!!!,it was 3 in the morning my parents were not impressed :)
😂
Just gonna toss this out there, Nero is adopted by Credo since he was an orphan. So when the Kyrie stuff comes up this bit will make more sense.
😎👍🙂
thanks guys for doing part 2 i will wait for part 3 for sure😁
🥳🥳😁 Next Monday
Nero isn't possessed by Vergil's spirit, what's happening is a bit more....mundane then that. Don't want to spoil it right now but pay close attention to Nero's dialogue and mannerisms and ask yourself why Nero was able to repair Vergil's sword and Agnus couldn't.
😎👍🤔
"I...need...more...power"
😁
These guys are just complete HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY.😎😎😎😎😎
🥰🤗😊
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames seriously you guys are. And I believe that 155k of your FANS think so too. 👍👍👍👍👍💗💗💗💗💗
Nero is driven by emotion and that makes me more sympathize him.
Makes it more human 🙂
Hey if you're interested, I recommend checking out a couple combo makers from this game. The game probably has the deepest combat system out of literally any game ever, and I'm not being hyperbolic. The gameplay of better players can legitimately just look like art at times. It's just nuts the amount of precision some of these people have.
If you're interested people like Donguri would be a good start as he's the most popular.
Just a thought. Also a video showing off all of Nero's busters(The grab attacks) would be a great video seeing as the player in this isn't really showing them off and many are a sight to behold.
Thanks for the recommendations. Would be fun to see some good styluses gameplays from this 😀
Soon you will know all and can't wait to see the endings and all good stuff and also start dmc 5
😎👍😀
I think it would be worth seeing a combo video in the game at some point after the story.
This game has some insane combat this compilation doesn't quite capture
Yeah we need to check out the combos from a proper gameplay vid 🙂
You guys got suprised by a demon toad/lantern fish hybrid
Lots of Dante and Gloria are coming next…. This party’s gettin crazy!
Yes! 😁🥳🥳
I think I might play this. This is too good.
It's a really fun game and goes on sale a crap ton. The puzzles can be annoying tho 😅
You should! We are playing 5 on the channel and look forward to it 😁
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I will.
Ah damn now we're getting to the good part I'm excited for the next one!
🥳🥳🙂 only gets better from here
that is vergil sword 100% and the girl will be a very nice reveal on who she is
😎👍🙂
Not a spoiler since its only on manga/novel;
Dante and Lucia from DMC2 where the ones that got the Yamato shards from hell.
After DMC2 ending when Lucia hears the motorcycle(Dante arriving) they face a demon called Balrog that had one of the shard and was using it to get out of hell.
Fun fact: the only weapons Dante had at the time was rebellion and Cerberus cause he sold the rest to pay whatever
But sadly Cerberus got destroyed during the fight
Balrog like the one Gandalf faces in lotr 🤔😀
I don't consider this a real spoiler, just pointing out a detail that would probably go over your head if you don't know it beforehand, as it happened with me: the guy with a stutter has daughter called Nico Goldstein, who happens to be granddaughter of the woman who created Dante's handguns.
Nico appears in Devil May Cry V as the team's engineer,/mechanic/armorer/chauffer, and I didn't really know where she came from until I was told that she's Agnus's daughter.
Dante from here on out. The first 1/2 your nero 2nd is Dante until the team up and then you swap back and forth
😎👍🙂
I'm glad you're both liking the game so far and that you like Nero I was a little worried idk if you remember this but back when you guys watched the trailer for DMC5 Bethany called Nero the Backstreet boy and didn't like him lol
😂 oh how our first impressions can change. We will have to rewatch that video of our reaction
Just met johnny young the voice of Nero yesterday. He’s a really nice guy and gave me a free autograph as well.
Nice! 😀
Kyrie is not Nero sister. They r both in love. He will become a demon in order to keep her safe.
It remends me of star and tom from star vs evil forest .
ayyy less goo was waiting for part 2 the whole week, happy you are enjoying it guys!
😎🤟🥳 DMC always a blast
Not sure if you guys would’ve seen yet, but if you’re looking for more Guilty Gear content to react to the newest character was just revealed and released. Her name is Bridget, and since she was pretty much released the same day as the announcement all of the trailers are already out and there’s plenty of videos of her finishing moves and things like that.
Thanks for letting us know 😀
4:34 Surprise 👀
I really hope you guys don't get spoiled for dmc5...damn I can't wait for that. I beat dmc5 a solid handful of times and it never ceases to remain fun AF.
So far no spoilers which is good 🙂
Thanku so much you guys are best i wait for ur videos daily it's fun♥️ s

The End of this cutscene will blow you're mind if you don't know
Looking forward to it 🙂
Man these Need to come out faster. I’m more than willing to wait. But I do wish you guys would longer reactions to these video games vid
Good to know. It’s something we’ve been thinking about 🤔🤗
The person recording the gameplay is acting like they are playing DMC2 😭 There are so many cool combos you can do in DMC4 and all they do is shoot
Yeah 😢 gonna cut down the gameplay in future vids. Really just focusing on the bosses and what they can do I guess 🤔
You guys getting to the good part that sword and devil form you recognise
😎👍🙂
Devil May 4 environments my favorite in the series
Fyi he is vergils son so yeah vergils power is in nero too thats why he heared a voice 'power give me more power' thats why the yamato reacted to him.
well, most of your question will be answered at the next cutscenes I guess? Tho the biggest one will have to wait till you do DMC5, as they really try not to mention that guy in DMC4
😎👍🙂
Cant wait for you guys to react to DMC5 😭
We will be playing that one 😁
Glad you are loving it so far. Dont worry youll see more Dante :)
I personally am kinda annoyed at how the person who made the video just mashes buttons, but thats just me.
Spoiler not cool
@@daves.5589 it’s not that major 🤣
i can't wait to see yall play dmc5!!
We look forward to it 🥳🥳
It'd be cool to have a trilogy of games with a anti hero protagonist like Dante to start off as the anti hero throughout the trilogy becomes darker and finally would after listening to the villains plan actually joins them and helps achieved the goal
If you haven’t already, you guys should react to the Gears of War 5 executions! I think you’d find them interesting
We haven’t yet but have Gears 1-4 executions coming Friday 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Oh, nice! Looking forward to that!
I hope you both do a reaction to Bayonetta / Bayonetta 2

I finished this game and it was actually fun but I love your videos😎😎😎
Glad you enjoyed the game 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames thanks guys😄
I really like your reaction, but man as a DMC fan it's brutal watching the gameplay of whoever recorded this.
😂 so we’ve heard. Sorry we didn’t find a better vid for gameplay 🤗
Enjoying these vids, it's cool hearing what you guys have to say. A shame that the person playing the game for the video you're watching sucks at it so bad though lmao.
😂 yup.
Kyrie is credo’s sister. Nero is inlove with her
😎👍🙂
when you try to understand DMC lore: 25:51
Never seen Devil Mary but it looks good! Good video :3
Fun franchise! You should check it out 😀
U wanna know the relationship between Virgil and nero, check DMC 5 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Yamato awakening is one the best moments for us who missed Virgil in DMC4.
The person playing really seems to like only using the gun lol
Yeah not sure why. We aren’t experts obviously and when we play will probably spam some stuff, but the gun? That seems most boring weapon 😂
Can't wait to see you react to Dmc 5 🤩
We are going to actually play that one 😀
24:26 you could not be any more correct
Out of a scale of 1 to 10 how would rate professor stutter evil
7 as far as evil goes. He just isn’t cool enough to raise past a 7 😏
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames logical point
DON'T SPOILER NERO'S FATHER AND MOTHER PEOPLE! Let them get to it on their own.
Thanks for the psa on our behalf. We agree and our mods do a good job of removing comments. Which is why we wait a day or so to comment 🤗
28:09 research purposes of course
😂
Oh I'm looking forward to your reaction come next episode. He he he he he he...
🤔😇
Whoever's doing the gameplay in that video _really_ likes to abuse that gun button. I don't think I've seen anyone play it like that... though I haven't watched all that many playthroughs. What they choose to show from their gameplay is a bit odd, too - no attempt to edit down boring parts, like when he got himself eaten by the toad three times directly in a row.
That said, it's cool that videos like it exist, so you can get the experience of a game's story in some kind of cohesive manner, rather than abrupt cuts between cutscenes which are ten-twenty minutes apart in normal gameplay.
Ikr Gamer's Little Playground is the worst gamer ever. Never improve whatsoever
Makes the game disservice!
Sometimes we edit the boring gameplay out. But kept it in this time because we couldn’t tell if it was just us. Next three vids will have some cut down gameplay. Though can’t cut it all out cuz then it would be too jarring so there will still be painful gameplay moments 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Fair enough, and good on ya for making the effort.
Don't worry, you'll find out who Gloria truly is later on during your reactions with this. And yes the Yamato is indeed Vergil's sword, I don't want to spoil too much for ya, many things can be answered in DMC5.
Thanks! 🙂👍
Please make devil may cry 5 all cutseen also

So my peoples. You want me to spoil it now and tell you who Nero is to Dante and Virgil, or should I wait🤔😂
Wait. We like the guessing game 🙂
I’ve waited for this! 😛
🥳🥳
This "Gamer's Little Playground" should be banned from action games. On other topic, DMC4 also has better qulity cutscenes from Pachinko iteration, but they are even more random than MGS3 ones. Although, unlike MGS3 ones, there are actually few cutscenes that were not in proper game (i.e new ones)
To be fair, they are showing some of the interesting moves the enemies do.... by getting hit by them, but still!
@@acrab6527 they were chewed three times almost in a row by bloody toad. All while failing to demonstrate Nero's grab on it.
@@acrab6527 Bro Gamer's Little Playground never improve on his gaming style at all. He gets a lot of views aswell while being a fucking bad at gaming
Haha, yeah they do a good job putting necessary cutscenes in and gameplay needed. Just their gameplay isn’t always good 🤗 going to cut out more of action scenes going forward
