Don't think I've ever listened to Renee at 5.00am before but after this, I might just have to make sure I here spooled up ready to fire on every morning lol, because that's a very cruisy way to kick off the day :)
She had a great voice. It was all there, the smokiness, the hint of rasp, great tone, great range… I just wonder at the wisdom of marketing a somebody done me wrong song on the TV show, ‘Countdown’, which was essentially marketed at teens. I was a pre-teen when this came out and it never appealed to me or any girls I knew. I think we’d all rather have been in love, or angry at the older generation, or dancing our hearts out than being depressed at the thought of our boyfriend cheating on us, lol. It just wasn’t lively enough for the target market back then. As an adult though, I can see this is a beautifully crafted and conveyed work.
That little thing we call context, makes all the difference in the world❤️🔥😉👍💯
Excellent singer, as always, great reaction brother 😉👍
Sad news today that Renee Geyer passed away. One of Australia's greatest soul singers and still was performing in 2022. Rest in peace Renee.😪
