    I’m so thankful for your video with all your expertise. What some people don’t know is that Pelvic floor therapists are not only PHYSICAL THERAPISTS, some pelvic floor therapists are OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS, who bring other functional aspects of occupational performance, and the relationship, and psycho-social aspects of life experiences that are unique to the practice of occupational therapy. Just so you know! ❤

    Ive been doing and teaching yoga in WNY since 1975. We do something called mulabanda which is basically gathering and lifting all our bits from front to rear down low at the center of the bottom of the body. This activation helps one to support the internals of our body, create and contain energy, establishes stability and power, increases control and awareness, and improves overall health and wellbeing.

  • @uptownsquirrel1846

    As a recovering prostatectomy patient, Dr. Malik, I suggest that you make men, who can’t well control their urinary flow, aware that a penile clamp is available that will help control leakage. Mine works great. I haven’t seen much of anything in the educational literature about these and other devices, such as a male condom catheter and collection bag system for night use. I received almost no medical education about the various devices to help control urinary flow. Also, consuming alcohol relaxes my urinary sphincter, as you might expect, consuming alcohol increases urinary leakage.
    Now controlling bowel movements post radiation treatment. Don’t have much of any suggestion here except invest in a bidet or a bidet retrofit system. Makes the problem more easy to deal with.

    Can a tens unit be used as a electronic stimulant to strengthen those muscles?

  • @frankallen6459
    @frankallen6459 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is there anyway these devices, or ones similar to these, could re-strengthen the muscles that are damaged from the turp surgery that causes reverse ejaculation, thus curing the reverse ejaculation condition? Also what's your opinion on home treatments of ED, if a guy buys his own shockwave therapy machine and he buys the type you recommended in the video you did on shockwave therapy, which I did watch? I'm 74 years old and have had ED that has gotten gradually worse in the last six or seven years to the point where Viagra and Cialis won't really work by themselves. Right now I do Cialis 5 mg daily with folic acid, with a restriction band to help maintain it. That works a little if I can't use Trimix. I wonder about the venous leakage issue but my urologist won't investigate it. He just says then use the restriction band. Sometimes I get an erection but then immediately lose it and can't maintain it, but the band helps some. So, like I said, I'm also trying a gradual increased dosage of Trimix. At first, a year ago, .4 cc worked but now it won't and I'm up to .7 cc, but haven't tested it good yet. My urologist recommends an implant but I'm not ready yet. Sorry, that's a lot at one time I guess.

    Speaking from real world experience here. Once a woman has had a child, she's never as tight down there as she once was. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that after childbirth a woman's vagina is ruined or terrible....it's still ok, it's just not as tight as before. And that's where exercises like this (and kegels) come into play---it can make a huge difference (no pun intended)

Are any of the items you showed sponsors or given to you by the companies if so you should be up front that they were or weren’t.in general I find your videos educational.

    Married 48 years. We are both almost 69. Three children. Poor pelvic floor muscles is a very sensitive subject to discuss with her. Reaching organism becomes very difficult for me not that it takes me a much longer time but it lead to her bleeding. I become conscious of that I could be hurting her, so all this becomes a dilemma how to share this concern. She says she not going to do anything to please a man. So I feel bad not to accept her as she is. Bottom line we rarely have sex. Any suggestions for me to approach this with her?

      hello, you wife may have vaginal atrophy which is common in menopause caused by lack of estrogen. painful sex including bleeding is a common symptom. Please have her speak with her gynecologist about this. Topical estrogen creme is one treatment that can improve symptoms greatly as it replaces the lost estrogen into the vaginal tissues

      Well pelvic-floor health is not exactly a new thing, even though in the medical community as it being something doctors can specialize in might only have been a thing for about 10 years (at least in my country, which is The Netherlands).

    How does it help with ejaculation?

    • @RenaMalikMD
      @RenaMalikMD  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It strengthens your pelvic floor muscles which contract when you ejaculate. Stronger muscles can potentially give you a stronger more forceful ejaculation and climax

    I had a biofeedback device around my anus, but told me I was contracting my pelvic floor muscles when I was contracting gluteal muscles. It also left me with fecal/anal incontinence, which I did not have before. Mine was for too tight pelvic muscles because I was guarding against another sexual assault. I react very strongly to electricity, and it actually burns me. So be careful if you haven't used electricity before.

      How many biofeedback sessions did u have? Did it not help in u? I have pelvic floor dyssynergia and thinking to get biofeedback therapy 🥲

    • @christytrimble2293
      @christytrimble2293 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1 biofeedback session--the doctor refused to see me when I told her about the fecal incontinence and anal spasms. Wanted to do pelvic floor physical therapy over the internet. NOT POSSIBLE. Went to new pelvic floor physical therapist. She does internal work, and I've progressed .45 inches in dilation. The doctor said if I can go up .25 inches more, I can have an exam in the exam room instead of the OR. I would do a therapist. They can work on tight muscles on the outside too.

      You can try biofeedback if you want. I'm saying it didn't work for me and caused worse issues than before. Biofeedback works great for some people. I'm just saying I was able to get a more personalized treatment with home exercises tailored exactly for me. And I was able to increase dilators at my own pace with someone who celebrated my success with me.
