Omar Sheikh denied the murder while Khaled Sheikh confessed to the murder. It's been 17 years since the killing of American Journalist Daniel Pearl but his murder remains a mystery till date.

पाकिस्तान की एक आतंकवाद निरोधक अदालत ने डेनियल पर्ल अपहरण और हत्याकांड में सबूत के अभाव में एक आरोपी को बरी कर दिया है.
हैदराबाद सेंट्रल जेल में शुक्रवार को सुनवाई के दौरान कारी हाशिम को सबूत के अभाव में बरी कर दिया गया जिसे अगस्त, 2005 में गिरफ्तार किया गया था.
अमेरिकी पत्रकार पर्ल का जनवरी, 2002 में अपहरण कर लिया गया था और एक महीने बाद कराची के कब्रिस्तान में उसका शव मिला था. उसका सिर धड़ से अलग कर दिया गया था. वीडियोटेप भी मिले थे जिसमें उसका गला रेते जाने के दृश्य थे
