In my opinion, the middle console should have the option of "dispose" , so when pressed the minecart with the villager will be sent to a special facility to "take care" of him in a spectacular fashion
When I added this option previously it was too easy for players to accidentally hit it instead of the return to cell button so I decided to remove it. You can easily add a section to the rail that performs that redirection.
I always wanted to make a slime launcher and a tnt launcher so the villager and tnt peak at the same time the tnt explodes killing the villager never could get the village to launch high enough though…
(villager breeder issue + potential fix) I just noticed an issue with the villager breeder. It only dispenses 1 bread per baby. According to the wiki and the carpet mod, you need 3/baby for each villager. As such, I adapted it using a redstone lamp with an observer to get the first two ticks and then took an output off the observer with a 3-tick delay to get the 3rd tick by overlapping the middle one.
This basically introduced me to your channel (and the guillotine vid), it's great that it has a v2!! It set me on a 6 month long journey to create an villager system where the villagers came to you (it had many, many features and was fast and efficient). Man those villagers on the bed must have best genetics out of every villager to be pumping out children reliably like that. Jokes aside, I think you did an amazing job with this matrix trading hall. I just love how everything is automated.
The efforts you put in your creations are mind blowing bro. This matrix mechanism was not just genius but also aesthetically pleasing. Would definitely try to build it in my survival world.(even tho my brain could not comprehend how it works😅).
I do love this cool design of a villager trading hall. I am also so happy that I knew what the lava around the villager was for. I do think that removing the bedrock and having update suppressed water looks better is cooler and isn't that hard to do, but I also like having this design to test if the sever I am playing on supports void trading
Well... I already have the hammer SMP void trading hall completed in my world that you showed in your video "trading with the void" but this gives me several ideas, in addition to the fact that there are certain modifications that I wanted to do for a while. to begin with, the zombification chamber never quite convinced me, and the enchanted arrows are great for me, it is an alternative that I had not taken into account. On the other hand, I was working on a breeder and a villager storage station to integrate them into the system, but the ones shown in this video are just... fascinating. As always, you outdo yourself with your content. this is great.
due to how i want to use this system, I had to add a segment that, if you called a villager that couldn't make it into the matrix itself, instead of looping eternally, it gets disposed of. Really nice, modular design. easy to add stuff to as well.
Love this design! Just spent the better part of a day messing with redstone, but I finally modified (or redesigned I suppose) your original design to work on Minecraft Bedrock! If this comment gets enough interest I might figure out how to screen record and make a tutorial on my account
Dude, this is incredible. I love seeing you iterate through designs, leading us through the research and development process, it helps me understand what is happening and how to properly use the machine. On a separate topic, I would like to ask, why haven't you been doing more things with wireless redstone? I had thought that the concept would revolutionize Minecraft, but it hasn't had this effect... Could you explain some of this?
I think it comes down the simple fact that: wireless redstone isn't very useful. I meant, don't get me wrong - it has it's uses, I mean the enderpearl station chambers are awesome, you could hook it up with a precision TNT cannon and play an endless game of volleyball with the two tnt cannons and one anvil being flung from cannonto cannon. But like... in 95% of cases, it's kind of useless. It's not like in the real world, for the simple reason that these wireless redstone routers are massive. Like, wireless is useful in real world because we can easily communicate from device to device using devices that are small enough to fit in our pockets. But these machines just take up too much space. And also, they're pretty damn slow if you think about it.
This was such a fun project for my singleplayer world! I really appreciate the video and the schematics. Having void trading be so accessible is a game changer for how I gather some resources now. I made a few modifications to fit my specific needs, which were fun side projects on their own, but I'm still on the hunt for a way to do the void trading without the player eventually drowning from being underwater the whole time. Maybe I'll just add conduits. I've also found myself not really using the automated stocking to fill up the matrix initially, since having multiple non-profession-locked villagers near multiple workstations leads to the villagers not reliably responding to the job sites next to them. I've instead been loading one villager, breaking/replacing the workstation next to them until I get the trades I want, locking their profession by trading once, then loading the next villager. I think this is because the unassigned villagers pathfind to other workstations further away from them, and you end up with a messy mismatch between villagers and workstations.
Interesting, they should not be pathfinding because they are in a minecart floating on water. Maybe try lowering them down with a slab to make the job site recognition more reliable.
@@cubicmetre I agree, I'd be surprised if they were pathfinding. But it's the only reason I can think of. At around 12:00 you can see what I'm referring to - villagers next to workstations just don't seem to take on a profession for some reason. You can see a few of them with their sightline locked onto a different workstation, which I thought might be a clue
amazing. I already designed a separate void trader that uses a redcoder to call for specific trades. I only need 15 slots though because I only need villagers for each color of terracotta, and a cleric, librarian, and farmer, for redstone dust, xp bottles, lapis, bookshelves, glass, name tags, and golden carrots
I built this and the villagers kept dying after trying to return them turned out one glass block was missing because it was surrounded by blocks I had no idea had to test in another world make sure you do everything right great build.
The whole system looks great! There seems to be a bottleneck with the village breeder though. By only having 2 villagers in that you can only get a new villager every 5 minutes. Since there are 54 spots open for a villager to be in, it takes 4.5 hours minimum to fill, let alone if you have to... uh... dispose of any villagers. Adding a few more pairs in the breeder would exponentially speed up the process.
I was going to make it a quad breeder by simply adding two more villagers. The main challenge is distributing food to every villager so they all have the correct portions for willigness. The thing is I wasn't prioritising the speed of the breeder because stocking up a trading hall is usually a very gradual process as you acquire the ideal trades and once you have all the villagers you need the breeder essentially becomes redundant.
Dude I spent so much time trying to build exactly this, but never managed to get it working. Sunk so much time into it and then just gave up :/ Really cool that there are working designs for this, because I always wanted to avoid having to put the villagers along the walls, because it takes up more space! @@happygood18 yeah baritone is a really good tool. just an FYI for anyone building this in their world, I recommend making sure its facing North/South. you may have trouble with the rails curving the wrong directions if its facing East/West
Just finished building this the other day. After much trouble shooting it finally works and honestly it is fantastic. The one isssue (I've seen mentioned here and also is in the world download) the villagers on the soul soil sometimes fight the water and swim up a bit so the minecart fails to pick them up. A temporary work around is reloading the area as then the villagers take a minute to start pathfinding; if anyone finds something better please let me know.
So the redstone is beautiful and moves the villagers around effortlessly. However, when in the matrix they are definitely able to pathfind to more than one workstation which essentially breaks the hall. It took too long to build and holds the villagers too well to break it down. Using Liberty mod to limit their detection range for job site which fixes the issue.
You might as well just switch the breeder from producing new villagers to producing baby zombie villagers when "off", and if you're not interested in an undrad army like me, you can simply turn them into skulk... not like it's very effective for that, but might as well get some xp on the side. I'm not sure if dressing the dressable zombies would produce more xp or not, but if it does, then you might want yo have some optimally enchanted gear constantly available for those who can pick up loot to pick up, just to produce a bit more xp, ifk if that only works for naturally spawning with armor or not though, I recall getting more xp from mobs after dressing them from personal experience long ago though.
Honestly this is way more complex than a trading hall needs and not compact at all, if sharing a base with others only 1 person needs to cure them and they are the person to do all trades so just do the 5x cure b4 hand and I'm no where close to max efficiency for it. Also most people want trading halls early game, I tend to set them up first or 2nd week on a server, your hall takes so many resources it would be hard for that. People use villagers to get gear and enchants, not get gear and enchants to go get what you need to make the trading hall. The void part is nice for single player but not allowed on majority of smp servers.
For some reason when you place the worktables it causes a CRAZY amount of lag. According to the carpet mod it's caused by the mine carts but the mine carts only cause a metric ton of lag specifically when the work tables are placed in front of the villagers. Im not sure if there is a solution but if somebody knows of one please help!
