Fun fact: Francesco Paoli wasn't even originally the drummer, he played guitar. But their drummer left so he took over. Not a bad drummer for a guitarist.
I think Fleshgod Apocalypse has to be listened to through an entire album. The songs are much stronger when they're led into and out of their neighboring tracks. Like the second half of King. You've got a slow and heavy track Cold as Perfection, to fast and hectic with Mitra. Then Paramour comes which is a nice, calm break since it's a slow opera piece. Wham! Here comes And the Vulture Beholds which is fast and high energy, and then slows down again with Gravity that just chugs along. I find that while listening to the band can be physically exhausting, going through an entire album like King is an experience. I bought the album randomly last year not knowing anything about the Fleshgod and couldn't have been happier. But ultimately if you don't like this particular "sound" then you wouldn't like the rest. I just think, for this band, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
Matthew McGowan. I saw Fleshgod in Chicago their older material is better (Mafia) the new stuff is too symphonic that chick singing kinda weakens them IMO still a great experience.
That's called a 'Concept Album' :P One of the many things I love about Fleshgod. Unfortunately, Labyrinth was poorly mixed, but I still love it nonetheless. They corrected that with King. Also, if you ever have the chance to see them live, by all means, go. They're one of the nicest bands I've met and they love to discuss about anything. Also, Veronica is one hell of a singer, FA wouldn't be what they are without her. I'm sad she isn't mentioned as a band member, since she adds so much to the 'basic' Death Metal. That said, I rejoin you -if you allow me- on the Symphonic part, it's my favorite genre -aside from NeoClassical, but that's another story :D- and I really liked King, Labyrinth and Agony for their songs and themes. Their two last albums are concept albums -I know I'm repeating myself- and I totally agree with the fact tha you can't judge a song just by itself, since it's just a part of something bigger, you just need to review the entire album if you want to "witness the whole thing". TL;DR: you're 100% right, it's called a Concept Album and it's fracking awesome. \m/
M.A.D.PandaGaming it's taking away from any build up and diversity. That break they put in probably saved the song lol but everyone has their own style
Hunter Tharp At 560 bpm? No. Just no. There is no way a human being can actually hit 9.8 (!!!) beats per second in a drum kit to achieve 560 bpm and keep it during an entire song. I know Mike Mangini (current Dream Theater drummer) once did 1206 bpm, but that was just to break a record, and in a single drum. Infant Annihilator play really fast, but nowhere near to "twice as fast as Francesco Paoli"
There is a live drum playthrough for you to watch. The cool thing about this drummer is not only he plays fast, instead of following the guitars or the vocals, he follows the orchestra. Every time the orchestra plays a different note, he plays a different cymbal with the blastbeats as guideline. You should check out his drum videos, really talented guy
I watched this originally right when you posted it. Gotta say, been listening to them ever since. Sad that the singer left and the drummer went back to singing. Haven't heard him yet, but maybe it'll be good.
I knew he wouldn't like it. GalacticCriminal you should check out Ex Deo- I Caligula. Also a symphonic death metal but a little lighter then Fleshgod Apocalypse.
LOL 4:42 "They gotta lay off the double kicks... it's a tad unnecessary... I mean you can sound mean and fast and hard with...." ...as Franceso switches to 8ths and 16ths. "without using it the whole time...."
Yes, yes, yes and yes! He neeeeeds to do that! Was sitting in a beer tent at a festival, never heard them.. started head banging all of a sudden.. love at first sight.
well they did kind of go a little overkill on the double kick. first time I've heard of them but the constant non-stop double kick was more annoying and wasn't really contributing to much.
Reminds me of high school & listening to fear factory... Whatever album edgecrusher, shock & the cars cover were on lol. Think its the clean/high pitched vocals & double bass drums constantly
Think you might like Novelists, French metal with clean and heavy vocals, and plenty of grooves. "Echoes" or "Gravity" are probably good tracks to start with.
Just some enlightenment on what the message of the song is: it's about a group of men being punished for raping a woman. That's why it's so aggressive, to give off the idea that rape is one of the worst sins one can commit.
I highly agree that the drummer was overdoing the double kick. That being said it he kept it up in an impressive speed, but it was just so monotone and kinda drowned out the rest of the band. The solo was in a weird tone which made it kinda malplaced to me. Their visual style is interesting though :>
God damn that was intense as fuck, that drumming is crazy. I recommend you check out Trivium - Throes Of Perdition, or Entrance Of The Conflagration, one is an amazing straight out thrash songs and the other is just an am amazing metal song, I'll let you figure out which is which :)
Came here to see what a non metal head would think of this...just starting it now. Ok well I was pleasantly surprised how he rated it on the first hearing, especially him being one to not be into heavy vocals like that. Its a great song, seen it performed live too (blown away by it live, played perfectly). They are one of the better bands of this genre out there.
I love them going to see them live coming may 19th at Amsterdam Metalfest. Its prolly not everybody's cup of tea, but i like the rawness. It gives me that rush.... lovin it 🤘
Haha, I love your Reaction/Review videos! I think the drums in The Violation are really... Something Special? :'D Anyway... Could you please make a video to "Julia G. - Bring Me Higher", an Austrian Hard'n'Heavy band?
"....they've really got to lay off that double kick,........just seems a tad unnecessary." ?? HEHE!! That phrase has never been heard before, and we shall never speak of it again!! LOL!!
the fast drumming is kinda the point.. it wouldnt be so epic without it. saw them live, zoomed in the drummer and he is madly amazing.. the slowing down of the song is necessary for him because he cant possibly go that fast for 5 minutes, he needs a little break :D the concert was pure extasy, not sure how he keeps it up.
I think you would like reacting to Unleash the Archers - Test Your Metal. Unleash the Archers is a power/melodic metal band, that uses a female lead Brittney Slayes has has a very clear voice, with an impressive vocal range.
Dude, try to check the video of "Decapitation Fornication" by Infant Annihilator. Been requesting it a couple of times since early this year. Cheers Galacticriminal!
FA is an amazing band indeed...now you must make a video from a great band of my country Greece ! SEPTIC FLESH-DANTES INFERNO .its a new song from the upcoming album .im waiting for your review!
dude look up this older band called divine heresy. they have a few members from the band fear factory. the song is calles monolithic doomsday devices or failed creation. may be you cup of tea.
Mate if you want to hear some crazy drums, there's a kind of known Mexican Deathcore band with an amazing name: " Here Comes The Kraken " . Check out Don't fail me Darko, not their newer stuff it's clearly less insane.
Fun fact: Francesco Paoli wasn't even originally the drummer, he played guitar. But their drummer left so he took over. Not a bad drummer for a guitarist.
that's fucking sick lmao
Chris Adler is also a guitar player turned drummer because of his bands needs.
He is also a singer, guy does it all
he only played drums a few years before playing this song too
After hearing his drumming...i wonder how his guitar playing sounds O_O
That drummer is a robot from hell with an arm blessed by hades.
Feet as well, bass pedals are a thing, and I believe t is 6/8 hits a second, so 3-4 from each foot per second.
Not Jesus spake the truth.
He just abbandoned the drumms to be the new vocal and guitarist of the band :D
Bruh really
He´s a guitarist that learned to play drums

This guy knows
Matthew McGowan. I saw Fleshgod in Chicago their older material is better (Mafia) the new stuff is too symphonic that chick singing kinda weakens them IMO still a great experience.
To each their own. Symphonic metal happens to be my favorite subgenre, so I'll obviously have a bias towards their later material.
agreed
That's called a 'Concept Album' :P One of the many things I love about Fleshgod. Unfortunately, Labyrinth was poorly mixed, but I still love it nonetheless. They corrected that with King.

This is what Beethoven would sound like if he composed his songs on crack
"They have to let off the double kick. It just sounds unnecessary"
...........no,........just no. You destroy your bass pedals or GTFO
M.A.D.PandaGaming it's taking away from any build up and diversity. That break they put in probably saved the song lol but everyone has their own style
M.A.D.PandaGaming i actually like Dicks
They need to let off the double kick...
with a triple kick
Don’t worry wankers he’s playing guitar and singing now
@@truedarklander He has to add his third leg
Italians make everything operatic, even it is death metal.
and it is good they do. cant possibly listen to one thing over and over. nice touch i'd say
Fleshgod's drummer blasts so god damn fast.
Not compared to Nils Fjellström. There´s always someone faster *hehe* Check out the live version of Hail murder, that´s insane...
Terrorfront Negligible. At these speeds no one can just be that much faster anymore.
Infant annihilators drummer does blast beats twice as fast lmao
Hunter Tharp At 560 bpm? No. Just no. There is no way a human being can actually hit 9.8 (!!!) beats per second in a drum kit to achieve 560 bpm and keep it during an entire song.
I know Mike Mangini (current Dream Theater drummer) once did 1206 bpm, but that was just to break a record, and in a single drum. Infant Annihilator play really fast, but nowhere near to "twice as fast as Francesco Paoli"
I A suck nothing but a studio project
I watched Fleshgod 2 times live, and the drummer still nails it. And the whole band for that matter.
Double-kick - the band cannot help it, it's death metal ;)
Francesco Paoli is a God
There is a live drum playthrough for you to watch. The cool thing about this drummer is not only he plays fast, instead of following the guitars or the vocals, he follows the orchestra. Every time the orchestra plays a different note, he plays a different cymbal with the blastbeats as guideline. You should check out his drum videos, really talented guy
I love how even in songs you don't like you can still find parts you like, mad respect. Subbed.
The album Agony, from which this song comes, is in its entirety a masterpiece. It has to be listened to front to back in order to fully appreciate it.
thanks for reacting. great video! now time to drink some beer.
One Nut thanks for the great taste
Hey its you!
Dude I could watch your vids for days, never gets old, killer beard
You really need to check out Korpiklaani - Vodka, you have a great time, I guarantee! Also worship the beard!
Perfect summary of this video "Jesus Christ!"
Yeah, for some reason when live those drums drive the entore crowd absolutely insane.
Unnecessary!? But that's probably the moat important piece of this song. That's what gives the emergy to this song.
I watched this originally right when you posted it. Gotta say, been listening to them ever since. Sad that the singer left and the drummer went back to singing. Haven't heard him yet, but maybe it'll be good.
98% sure and 100% stoned, but i think they said they wrote their songs on that album around the drums.
Unnecessary?! Are you kidding me you fleshy lummox, that's the fuel of the whole thing. Jeez dude. Thought you knew what was up
There is such thing as triple bass peddle
Holy Fuck Really?
GALACTICRIMINAL yeah someone might mistake someone going really fast with a double bass as a triple bass
ThePredator1110 look up a drum cam for there drummer he only uses double bass
Edgy Teen That Likes Djent I believe it
Yeah the drummer uses double bass only. I don't know what the technique he uses is called but he's a god at it.
OOOOH, thanks for reminding me about Fleshgod Apocalypse, I had forgotten about them.... you have now given me shit to do tonight
That 1,2 Fart noise kills me every time haha
i'v subbed to you ... you are amazing to watch thank you ... flesh god apocalypse ... one of the best drummer's on the planet ... fantastic talent
I knew he wouldn't like it. GalacticCriminal you should check out Ex Deo- I Caligula. Also a symphonic death metal but a little lighter then Fleshgod Apocalypse.
Khorne.Romulus and also Final War(Battle of Actium)...
Also a great songs. Love that solo from Final War(Battle of Actium).
There's a new music video for The Roman (one of the songs from the new album).
Nice tune... and video ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I don't think he'd much like Origin either then :p
I saw these guys In NYC last year. One of the best. There is a opera singer that comes out to the stage with them and they look like pirates.
I saw them live in bagnatica (it) last year, amazing show...the clean singing part was made by an opera singer
full of energy
I'm fucking loving it...kinda refreshing to see Italian Operatic Death Metal and I will be seeing them FRiday Night 6/22 in St. Pete Florida...
LOL 4:42 "They gotta lay off the double kicks... it's a tad unnecessary... I mean you can sound mean and fast and hard with...."
...as Franceso switches to 8ths and 16ths.
"without using it the whole time...."
you know you're band is heavy when galactic criminal invokes god

I second this choice. amazing live band. never heard them until I saw them open for mushroomhead and have been a fan ever since.
Definitely a good track, and one of my favs. I might suggest Hail The Apocalypse instead.
or the Eagle Has Landed maybe?
Yes, yes, yes and yes! He neeeeeds to do that! Was sitting in a beer tent at a festival, never heard them.. started head banging all of a sudden.. love at first sight.
Nearly every song they have making is a masterpiece.
"you need to drop down the double bass a little" - said no one ever
Let off the double kick? Your crazy man XD
Damn this video is so entertaining it could cure depression! Loved it :)
tour for argentina i watch then for first time , great band , blows my mind ! cheers !
What is that tune at the end of the vid?
wtf did he say lay off the double bass drum? ,go review chili peppers or bjork or something
Pat Naidoo indeed
well they did kind of go a little overkill on the double kick. first time I've heard of them but the constant non-stop double kick was more annoying and wasn't really contributing to much.
RHCP>this
Pat Naidoo that's gravity blasting not double bass drums
you obviously don't play drums
Blazing blast beats, Batman!
Here Comes The Kraken - From the Deepest Darkness. I'd be so happy to hear your opinion about these guys. :D And yeah - Mexican deathcore band.
I went to a fleshgod apocalypse show back in 2014. as i went home I can't feel my legs.
Funny how back then I wasn't into them. Now its all Im listening to lol
Every time I'm mad or angry and wanna god knows what, I play this song - sorted
There is NO such thing as too much double bass. All of life's problems can be solved with fast double bass.
Reminds me of high school & listening to fear factory... Whatever album edgecrusher, shock & the cars cover were on lol.
Think its the clean/high pitched vocals & double bass drums constantly
obsolete
AnarchistMetalhead Thats right. Thank you good sir.
I like the faces you make XD
Beer is good and stuff.

Think you might like Novelists, French metal with clean and heavy vocals, and plenty of grooves. "Echoes" or "Gravity" are probably good tracks to start with.
There's no such thing as too much kick drum!! Hehe!! Francesco is a SAVAGE!!!
Have you reacted to IGORRR
Just some enlightenment on what the message of the song is: it's about a group of men being punished for raping a woman. That's why it's so aggressive, to give off the idea that rape is one of the worst sins one can commit.
That makes sense
Holy shit I love your intro 😂
Best reaction of all time XD 2:23
I highly agree that the drummer was overdoing the double kick. That being said it he kept it up in an impressive speed, but it was just so monotone and kinda drowned out the rest of the band. The solo was in a weird tone which made it kinda malplaced to me. Their visual style is interesting though :>
Can't find the podcast dude.
Riddled Podcast on youtube. It kinda sucks lol meh
When i heard that freaking blast beat i almost shit my pants.
you should check out Nemertines Ticking time bomb. Think you'd enjoy it based on your reaction to the last video you did on Meshuggah.
А мне нравится у них "Сold As Perfection". Хотя многие песни у них просто потрясающие. Лучший симфоник метал.
This Is Exile by Whitechapel
If you headbanged to this you'd get whiplash real fucking quick
God damn that was intense as fuck, that drumming is crazy. I recommend you check out Trivium - Throes Of Perdition, or Entrance Of The Conflagration, one is an amazing straight out thrash songs and the other is just an am amazing metal song, I'll let you figure out which is which :)

I wouldn't be surprised if that drummer used a quad bass paddle
Haha, I love your Reaction/Review videos! I think the drums in The Violation are really... Something Special? :'D
Anyway...
Could you please make a video to "Julia G. - Bring Me Higher", an Austrian Hard'n'Heavy band?
Feared's "By Silent Screaming" is a pretty good track I feel you should check out. Great vids by the way :)
"....they've really got to lay off that double kick,........just seems a tad unnecessary." ?? HEHE!! That phrase has never been heard before, and we shall never speak of it again!! LOL!!
Bahahahaha 'fuck! They we're mad about somethin' that made me laugh. You're a classic
Loved the vid, keep em coming! would like to see a reaction to Exmortus - immortality made flesh
the fast drumming is kinda the point.. it wouldnt be so epic without it. saw them live, zoomed in the drummer and he is madly amazing.. the slowing down of the song is necessary for him because he cant possibly go that fast for 5 minutes, he needs a little break :D the concert was pure extasy, not sure how he keeps it up.
Funny, cuz now this type of metal is all Im listening to lol
I think you would like reacting to Unleash the Archers - Test Your Metal. Unleash the Archers is a power/melodic metal band, that uses a female lead Brittney Slayes has has a very clear voice, with an impressive vocal range.
Dude, try to check the video of "Decapitation Fornication" by Infant Annihilator. Been requesting it a couple of times since early this year. Cheers Galacticriminal!

2:14 is how my dad headbangs.
Italy Style.....pure gold brother....what a great band
well, just got to say that I agree with most what you say. But, I just love those drums on this track.
Jesus Christ is the reaction. Everytime!!!
Fuck Yes. Hail The Flesh!!
I think you should react to more of these guys, this song is really fast and intense compared to some other more melodic songs of theirs.
monumental drummer. no exaggerating
That's a great band. I saw this Live in NY.
Mate if you want to hear some crazy drums, there's a kind of known Mexican Deathcore band with an amazing name: " Here Comes The Kraken " . Check out Don't fail me Darko, not their newer stuff it's clearly less insane.
That's my favorite band and it's even better live. Watch the Waken video of them on TH-cam. I feel sorry for other bands. FGA rox
