    Thiebaud is a total genius to the max!! I call it pure intelligence flowing through him. I have watched his work all of my life. It is so great to see this video!

    What do you mean by edge

      "Edges" in paintings are where two areas meet, such as the contour of an arm against a background. I think he meant that in Vermeer's work, that the edges were soft or diffused, or blended, so that they weren't distinct. I don't know if I agree or not but I think that's what Thiebaud meant.
