Awesome 🙌 this is more of a derivative of the 2006 Tim O' Brien arrangement - of whom I'm sure Billy is a huuuuge fan. So thankful that there's a Billy Strings and a Molly Tuttle in our world ❤
Astounding. Billy nails it. What an amazingly well-crafted song. Kudos to Tim O'Brien for coming up with this arrangement. Bob Dylan...bluegrass songwriter...a badge I'm sure he's happy to sport.
Dylan and Strings. Two iconic American musicians pointing the way forward. God bless our best singer/songwriters. Through the smoke and fog, they give us clarity and passion.
@@kikogarcia4096 yeah :( Now a days it feels like things are either low effort, or over complicated and showy, no tasteful in-between. I mean there's great stuff out there but it's hard to find big hitters like this today. Musicians that are also interested in poetry, and tripping without just going the shock route for attention. Magic is a little dry.
Thanks as always! I hope you caught the Drifter’s Escape in Portland. It was only after we left Essex the second night that I figured out who you were. My wife and I were right next to you both nights. Say hey to Bill K for us!
That is a great line , however , I think that Bob is a great writer and that Billy is a great interpreter and performer and singer. They are not the same. I do appreciate what they both do.
Billy Strings- not only a great musician but obviously a great band leader for those chosen ones! Billy Failing - banjo Jarrod Walker -mando Royal Masat - bass Alex Hargreaves - fiddle
This is excellent. … check out Jerry Garcia Band doing this song like 40+ years ago. A haunting version that may have been an inspiration for Billy doing this beautiful song much justice as well
Agreed. I love this version but the JGB rendition, from that coveted double cassette set, IS the most beautiful of all of them. ANY time Jerry covered Bob, magic happened.
Tim O’Brien style. Always one of my favorite versions of this song. That whole album Red on Blonde was mind blowing. This and Farewell Angelina are my favorites.
@@PB111627 For me, Billy is like an answered prayer. When we had a bunch of greats who could do this, I took them for granted. How many young artists can play and sing at the same time like this now? Maybe there are many but I don't know them.

Yep! Billy, Molly and a few other young wonders make me feel that the keys to the music vault are in good hands! 💫☮️

I like Bobby D but Tim’s version is one of those instances where the cover is so much better imo🙏🏻
❤❤❤
@@ChiefGhoulTOTALLY agree.
Yeah Billy, get it bro. 🙏
Heartbreakingly beautiful. And that fiddle player is ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥.

Did ya'll notice the naughty little change of words? I think that devilish grin is so cute❤
My fav part ❤
He left out the Billy The Kid Lincoln County Road reference
No?
To the uninitiated , could you please tell us when , and what it means. It strikes our interest.
No. But would love to know. Please , pray do tell.
Real AMERICAN MUSIC. REAL AMERICAN MAESTROS SERVING UP DYNAMITE. NOTHING FINER!
BOB DYLAN WAS SO GREAT HE HAD THOUGHTS THAT PROPEL CAREERS EVEN STILL TODAY. HE IS A TRUE GODZILLA.

@@SaumBodhi nah bro, now they feed us mediocrity to become absolutely numb to real art or principles so we just become paying lil sadfucks 😂
Dylans a force of writing, but as my daughter says, everyone does Dylan better than Dylan.
Loved this show! Had a blast.

Boom
Alex Hargreaves on fiddle sure adds a lot to this band. And every band he’s played with, for that matter.
💪🤘💪🤘💪👍🤘💪👍🤘
Bluegrass is a natural for this Dylan song.
You're on it Dean 🔥... any chance u made Saturday in Portland?
😂❤❤
Bobby wrote it.
Tim gave it life.
Billy and the boys finalized it.
Amen
Jerry Garcia has a great version of it too. I recommend it.
It's called "tales of Yankee power..." Good job .
It’s called “señor (tales of Yankee power)”
The lyrics are maent to be critical of Yankee power and this version leaves out the Lincoln County Rd reference
Sounds like a cartel kidnapping
Angry Beavers ❤
the voice is as good as the guitar.
The voice and phrasing.
