don't understand why you would demo Darryl's style of making a bear head when he has demod this for ABANA and has videos (that you help record) for sale

We did a Zoom class on animal heads - one with Mark giving a demo, one with Victoria Ritter and John Williams going over the tooling, and one with Darryl forging 5 animal heads in total. Darryl has also started putting videos on his TH-cam channel, so there’s lots of crossover activity.

@@ABANAorg this doesn't explain why its "OK" to demo someone else work.

@@joeelliott4609 1. If a smith’s work is never demonstrated by anyone except himself/herself, then the techniques will die with them. Passing along techniques is incredibly important to the preservation of the forging arts.
      2. Smiths demo work from others all the time - although giving credit is very important. How many smiths have demoed a Friedrich’s Cross who aren’t actually Christoph Friedrich?
      3. Darryl not only consented to this demo, he was involved in the planning of the class. So if you’re assuming he’s unaware, he is not.
Hope that clears up any misconceptions.

@@ABANAorg 1) because of the magic of the internet.... your #1 explanation is total BS.
      2. there is a huge difference between duplicating to learn " how to" and duplicating for profit and or self gain. I guess maybe its not really plagiarism if the author of the original work is given credit, but cant help thinking your taking revenue and notoriety from them.
      3. I find this whole conversation very disheartening and feel that ABANA has chosen to go down a slippery slope by condoning such video's

@@joeelliott4609Please see #3 where he was involved with, and consented to this demonstration.
Unless of course you are speaking for Daryll and are the sole arbiter of his will and wishes?

I think this one is way above my skill level at the moment . But practice is the key so I will keep working on my skills . 👍🤠.
