It's entirely dependent on what heads either motor has. I've seen some wicked 352s, but some 390s that were dogs. A bunch of 352s got 4 barrel carbs, while a lot of 390s got 2 barrels. Compression ratio took a nosedive with smog heads as well. 460s are basically the same story, great unless they have the smog heads and lower compression.
@@jesseduke694 great question for sure! If I didn’t know this 460 and knew it ran better than the FE I would question it for sure. A good 390 is hard to beat. The 352 that was in this truck ran well but it was time for some love and I didn’t want to mess with it nor did I have time. Plus FE’s are expensive to build now days
@@brockstarg2296 yea luckily this engine has flat tops and early 70’s heads so it still has some ass to it lol Wish it had some D0VE heads or cobra jet but I’ll take what I can get for now
People drive by these great old rigs I grew up with when new. Born in the forties has one thing good was driving them new and now having one that still makes it coast to coast, and payments on truck should be fairly low if you did the right thing, Still more steel in the dash of the ford truck than a whole china made rig and at least these rigs are still great looking at forty plus years old trucks that nine out of ten will still look great in another ten yet a brand new any company rig will be in the " Who cares" pile as its junk.
@@morgansword this truck my grandfather purchased new, it spent its entire life as a service truck with a utility bed when my family had a Ford Tractor dealership. This truck was worked HARD all of its life and still has life left in it. Cant say that about the newer service trucks we had lol We have a 78 f350 camper special with a dump bed on it, 460/bull dog truck. It’s been worked all its life making deliveries and besides rebuilding the engine once it STILL is being used to this day. Cant beat these old trucks ❤️
Looks like a blast
My uncle pulled with his dodge one yr. He got 7th place! Practicly 1st! Out of 7 trucks!
Camera quality is beautiful on this one
I hate you
Are you sure that 460 will have more power than that FE?? Ive seen some pretty anemic 460s?? And ive seen some pretty vicious FEs?
