You’ve stuck with me through the practical struggles, the awkward logistics, and the X-men related drama that is having wings. And you know what? I’m still standing by my point that wings as a superpower blows bears, but let’s take a step back. The most important thing that we’re missing in all this discussion is what wings represent. In most forms of media but especialy comics, wings will be used to symbolize freedom, transcendence, and the fine line between the limitations of humans and a preceved higher calling. Characters like Angel, like Hawkgirl, and even like Falcon each embody these themes very difrent ways. Angel's natural feathered wings represent his personal struggle with his mutant identity and the weight of responsibility, they sybolise both the increadable freedom that flight gives you but also the burden of living as somthing difrent. For Hawkgirl, her wings are a link to her ancient egyptian past, carrying a pre writen destiny and the promise of the eternal cycle of rebirth, simerly to angel her wings are a sybol of her independance as a worrior yet also somthing that ancors her to her past. Similarly, Falcon’s wings, crafted from advanced technology, symbolize empowerment and human resilience-showing that, even without inherent superpowers, one can soar to great heights through willpower and innovation. In each case, wings are not just physical attributes but metaphors for the characters' personal growth, inner conflict, and ultimate aspirations. what im trying to say is... skip all the personal groath and sybolisom because at the end of the day you still cant do anything. what you thought i would change my mond? screw you i drink bubble bath ill find you i swear to god ill find you and when i do.
There's Silly over-complicated comic book discussions. And then there's this. 😂 But aight, Kind of like how invisibility sucks as a power except it doesn't inherently it only sucks when it's "literally only invisibility" and by how the invisibility worked. It's instantly solved if it works by for example on "alternate dimension" logic rather than light passing through you and your eyeballs making you effectively blind, while you are still fairly visible, in rain, if some hairs or dust hit you or even just on a simple thermal camera, smell, noise, by far you're "mostly visible" As for *WINGS* it really depends on your definition of WINGS I guess, I mean "a wing" is a shape, if we were talking like "Biblically accurate angel wings" there's no way in hell (heh heh get it) that those would simply be Bird Wings, heck often much of their appearance is described as "it kind of looked like wings" not "they were wings" which is further confirmed by their function not matching that of wings. On top of that Angels and Demons are shapeshifters so it doesn't even really matter much, that'd be like saying Mystique having wings is impractical. HOWEVER, if we are indeed talking about 24/7 bird like wings on a human that's 100% normal human in everything else which would normally make the wings useless but let's ignore that, yes that would make them mostly a pain in the ass. However I would agree that it is better than no superpowers for one simple reason "people like freaks" Like if you are even remotely attractive and have wings you're gonna have fairly guaranteed job opportunity as a model or something. Or even just "famous person with wings". Now in a fictional universe like Marvel with established mutants and hate the chances of that are a bit less. But IRL if you were the only person in the world with super powers, even if it was as lame as just having wings, that'd be more than enough to have you set for life, the entire fashion industry would go crazy trying to design clothes for you, you'd be set. And in turn all the impracticality will become manageable in the face of a shit ton of money. At worst you can make quite a bit of money cleaning like... sky scraper windows and stuff. Like there's defenitly *worse* "superpowers" especially with Mutants, or in the MHA universe or a really obscure one "Lanfeust Quest" had some crazy weird and useless powers without just being a complete satirical/ironic take on superpowers like the boys universe or something where's just tonnes of powers that exist for the sake of being terrible or a joke.
wings are all well and good however they will be ripped of and then you are back to no super power. there are so many ways to get super powers in the marvel and dc universes.
