      I really like her but feel bad for her. Real masculine men don’t need a woman to work for/ with them. They need a feminine woman and they allow her to just be by working hard for her and his children. They don’t value “her” for her masculine working skills.

    Jake,
    when cutting the backerboard for your stoves, you should always wear a mask. the recommended cutting methods are score and snap, or when using a mechanical saw, a six tooth blade is recommended to keep dust to a minimum. Not following the precautions exposes one to the risk of silicosis from the dust created during cutting.

    You absolutely need a metal plate under the wood stove. The regulation would be at least 50cm in front of the oven, 30cm from each side. And the wall cover seems to be too small. The wooden walls should be protected at the distance of 60 cm from the stove. Please be careful with the fire! Nice greetings from Germany :)

    It’s interesting that you use rain water to cook, clean and brush teeth, but then use well water to irrigate crops. I would think the other way around would be the way to go. Or with all your rain have a huge catchment system and no well at all. I watch another channel and they’re in an area where wells aren’t even possible and they probably get as much rain as you do where they are in Panama and and they have 4 huge (I mean enormous)barrels with the gutter spout pouring right in and they overflow because they can’t use the water fast enough most of the year. In their dry season they’re a little more careful. And there are 7 people living there and goats, chickens, 7 dogs and their coffee crops etc. I’d be curious since your home is running pretty much on rain water, why you even have a well. A good filtration system should be all you need with all that water. Maybe you could explain this in your next q&a.

    If you want to minimize tar formation in the chimney and reduce emissions from the stack it is good to not fill the the stove too full. When you fill the stove with too much wood you will never have clean combustion as there will never be enough oxygen. Good to start with a little wood and then when you get the chimney warmed up the draft improves and you can add more wood.

    The bunkie looks amazing. Since you deal with a lot of moisture it would be a good idea to raise the mattress up on alternating slats or get the mesh forms that people use in tiny homes and bus/van conversions that allows the air to circulate and prevent mold from growing underneath the mattress. Especially important since you live in a rainforest.

    Guessing that they will be mostly living elsewhere. With the wet weather and swarms of mosquitos, it doesn't seem like a safe place for a baby or a toddler. Having a separate unattached building for a baby is very unpractical.

    • @davidnash6429
      @davidnash6429 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I wrote a long response to this but somehow it got deleted. Basically, unless there is a flood, no problem. For the mosquitos, there are natural methods to deal with them like providing several bat houses. There are also nature friendly applications that can reduce the bugs as well. I great source of natural application is author Jerry Baker's book "Old Time Gardening Wisdom". It would be interested to see what the ingenious people used to protect themselves. One way or the other, these two will figure it out, I am sure.
