From my experience, an American who lived in Glasgow for a year, Scots do have a little prejudice against Americans but for the most part they judge you as an individual. I found that when I was friendly (introvert, but still American so friendliness is drilled into me) and because my ancestry is overwhelming Scottish, and I jumped into the culture head first (buying my family tartan and going to Highland games, etc). Yes, i noticed that too. Dunno. Whats wrong with acting like a man these days? I think in the late 90s women started wanting men to be more intouch with their feminine side, and 'metrosexual', became a thing. But its gone too far. These limp wristed, clingy, wet types are annoying to say the least. Why not naturally be a strong, friendly, protective man? Stop trying to be women.
The young lady sitting down in the blue dress was really cute. The one young lady saying American men are more in touch with their feminine side should be a gut punch & reality check to the younger men of today.

Stumbled on to this, found it interesting. Thought I would share an observation about the faces I have seen on this video. You can read my name and guess at my ancestry. My family left the isle of Skye and ended their journey in Moore County N.C. in 1770. Other families came along, different names, but all from Scotland. None of that matters except that the descendants of those people, those immigrants, they look just like you guys. I swear to you. Bulk of Highlanders are here in America and celebrate their Scottish Ancestry routinely and are proud folk. If Highlanders returned back to the old country their expectations wouldn't be met. Scotland has changed way too much to meet the desire and need to reconnect with the ideas of what Scottish Americans have in their mind. " You'll be sadly disappointed." So if you visit, have a plan and do not get your hopes up to high. Its a different world. Your 100% going to be viewed as a Tourist in a new Place. Just be honest with that and accept it and everything is good. No hard feelings. We love Scotland in a special way in our own minds. Just the view is not shared. They don't really care or think about it much. If you're thinking you'll visit and have a fun open history lesson... well, it's not even taught sadly. This is not a bad thing. Oh Aye! I was stationed in Scotland near Glasgow back in the 1980s. Loved my time over there. The people and the fish & chips!
Lol I love how the logical intellectual older ladies had this down! Hahaha they were so great... they looked at things objectively "yey"? Hahahah
Troubling to here the lady say "Well I'm of an age where nobody notices me anymore"
@@jacobmiller5834 Yes, that broke my heart hearing her sentiments on this.
I love the Scottish accent .
I will be visiting Scotland next week can't wait
which one mate
Canadian James that was class
Haha thanks Murray. I’ll relay that to Canadian James 😂
4:16 Can we talk about this please! Why did the Scottish guy start to pet the young lady’s hair?
Yes, i noticed that too. Dunno. Whats wrong with acting like a man these days?
I think in the late 90s women started wanting men to be more intouch with their feminine side, and 'metrosexual', became a thing. But its gone too far. These limp wristed, clingy, wet types are annoying to say the least. Why not naturally be a strong, friendly, protective man? Stop trying to be women.
😂😂 That Canadian impersonation is hysterical! 'My favorite letter in the alphabet is Zed.' (Yes, I know it's Z)
The young lady sitting down in the blue dress was really cute. The one young lady saying American men are more in touch with their feminine side should be a gut punch & reality check to the younger men of today.
you are awesome! loved your video. the canadian disguise had me cracking up.🤣 nicely done. the outlook might be different in the highlands (inverness, kirkwall even aberdeen) any chance of a part 2 there? nicely done though.👏 👍
Keep ‘em coming mate
As an American, I think Scottish accent on a woman is incredibly cute....
I feel personally slighted that this channel is not over a million subs yet
Just like consistent good stuff
the way you said “toronto” in the intro was perfect 👍
sincerely,
someone who lives just outside of toronto
...but not the way he said "Sc-yaw-tish"
sincerely,
someone who's from a 5-hour drive north of Toronto (and now lives in Scotland)
I like how they say "American men" like we're all the same. And most of them were just basing their stereotypes off of movies.
True.
Aye and ? half of Americans av met mention brave heart first thing after speaker to ez.
Tbf we do the same shit w anybody from other countries. Idk about u but alot of ppl I met me too basically view Scottish people as what u would stereotypically think of them. Same w Russians etc
They don't have much else to base it on, same if we had to have an opinion on Scottish men we'd base it on stereotypes from pop culture.
Truth is were basically the same as scots
Disguising as a Canadian isn’t fairly difficult if you’re from places like California or Washington. Sometimes I find myself saying out like oot and house like hoose by accident lol 😂
Scottish people do say oot and hoose......that's where the Canadians got it from, we say ay aswell
@@michellemcmanus2729love that btw we say oot and hoose all the time here in Scotland but I wouldn't I front of say an American or even an English person
@@michellemcmanus2729sorry am drunk just realise yer Scottish 😂
Yeah, Canadians don't say that, so keep it up.
As an American, I think they seem to feel just the way we do even about our own countrymen depending on who and where they are. Not entirely sure, but speaking to their own views and experiences.
Opinions are varied everywhere you look.
Didn't Mel Gibson give the Scottish people their freedom or something?
Yea. I watched that documentary as well. Thank God for Mel Gibson 🙏🏽
I have been to Scotland three times, once for over a year, and I found a mixed bag in my experience, although the last time was over 30 years ago. I liked most Scots I met.
I have a friend, her hair is so very red, and her eyes so green, she is beautiful, she would fit right in with you guys. So here is the observation, your descendants here in America are hot.
I'm surprised to see such a sunny day in Glasgow.. 😅
It’s sad they judge us by T.V an movies oh and McDonald’s 😕
Some Walmart clips are interesting too.
As an American I’d prefer Scottish or Irish Women over English women but I’d doubt they would accept me 😂
Finally we have some good stereo types. Thank God for Hollywood
I dated a woman from Ayrshire for three years. I'm an American. The Scottish are VERY determined to whatever their set their mind to.
I love how internet stereotypes on Americans which are total exaggerated have became actually fact to foreigners.
Trouble is, we don't see much that contradicts it.
@@-Pol- It's because so much American media comes from California or New York. It's not real and doesn't give you any real idea of what the country is like.
Ah yes, the "totally exaggerated" stereotypes of Americans that are not at all proved by statistics
Its your fault, thats all we see in the TV. If you don't want those stereotypes stop acting like that.
@MW_Asura No, they are exaggerated, my friend. We work hard, more than any country I would wager. We barely take vacations, so when I hear lazy and fat, I don't see too many of that.
I wonder what Scottish woman thinks about Mexican guys, I love their accent!
Even though I'm a redhead... Lmao
Awesome video, James! Glad to see you’re still doing good stuff! 😊
Heyyyy Mike!!! Long time no see man! How have you been??? Can’t believe it’s been 7 years since Korea!! Are you there at the moment??
@@JamesPrime1 Yeah, I’m still here! I can’t believe time has flown this much! Where are you now in the world?
I know right?!? Time is flying by! But I had such a good time while I was there! You, Alex, Jasmin, the Korean Bros, and everyone else I met along the way made for some great memories and every now and then I’ll look back on some videos and have a good laugh 😂 Speaking of which, is Alex and Jasmin still there??
Right now I’m back home! Last year, I spent a good year and a half just traveling all around. The last 9 months of the trip I spent traveling around Southeast Asia! Had an awesome time!!!! I originally had planned to make a bunch of videos to kind of document the trip, but you know how it is when you just get burnt out from trying to make videos haha😅
Now that I think about it, I haven’t posted anything in awhile! I had a few videos that I recorded but never uploaded. And now seeing that my channel is barren, I feel like I need to go out there and shoot something!!!
How about you?? I’m still subscribed to the Mikole channel but it looks like you’ve taken a break as well?
Wow, even Scottish girls say 'like' between every third word.
Im American and i want a Scottish girlfriend. They look beautiful and i love their accents. I like the red hair. 😍😍😍😍
What brought me here was watching an old Saturday night live skit where Mike Myers says “if it’s not Scottish, it’s crap!!!” Also, my last name has Scottish roots.
Wish there were more opportunities to meet people from other countries.
California has ruined the American image💀
Ladies, I don’t mean to flex, but have you considered the fact that in an emergency I can quickly say “purple burglar alarm?”
What a difference between the younger and the older ladies. Now it would be really great to go back to each of these young ladies, in 50 years and interview them with the same questions. Then let us see that video. ❤👍😉
I love the girl calling american men weirdos while her male friend is petting the girl in the middle
so the blonde in the purple... more moscow than glasgow
Amwrican here; It was funny; the pretty girl stateing the American men were friendly. Really; a man was friendly to pretty girls?!
with those great accents?! REALLY? 😊
😂
The way Scottish pronounce American: "Amelican" 😂😂😂
This is great.
Honest perspectives. I think we all would make great friends! The girl who said she doesn't like Americans...just give it time.
I always wanted to visit Scotland. All those ladies seem very cool and the area you were in looked really nice. I'd rather go there than England, seems less hectic.
As an American, I've met people from so many places without leaving my state. I find it interesting that so many of these girls haven't even met an American.
Because like you most Americans never leave their states.
The 3 girls that said they never met an American aren't Scottish they are Eastern Europe I think going by their accent
@@chrisw138 huh?
@@chrisw138 I'll never stop being amazed by the level of confidence people like you can display, as they spout total nonsense. Having always lived in one's state, and never having been anywhere else, are not the same thing.

That one chick was dressed up like we are in the 1800s 😂😂😂
Hey James!! It’s Chewsday innit? we all missed you at work today!
that’s english mate
I need to go to Scotland and get in touch with my heritage.
Girl: I dont like them because of their stupid accents and complete weirdos
Me: I didn't even know I had an accent (From where I'm from I feel like we have the most flat basic accent, no southern or eat coast flair) she made me laugh tho like which American did she meet
All people around the world have accents.
@@larrybell1859 well Ik but it’s still weird to think that I have one 😅
@@firecat4001
Accents are based on many types of audio frequencies made and mixed in the mouth causing unique frequency mixes called accents. A flat American (General American or Midwestern) accent is still an accent. It is just that it is more phonetically controlled as compared to many American accents.
oo I see. Thanks for teaching me 👌🙏
@@firecat4001
Okay.
Those 3 eastern European girls really had a thing for Scottish guys kept bringing it up 😂
Subscribed! Great video!
I love the Scottish woman accent!
we have got to work on our image , I cant believe that one girl said we are feminine but maybe she never heard about Texas
Texas men break hearts :( my ex is from there, maybe it's good they don't know about y'all. All jokes aside, we really do need to rebrand. I'm tired of being called arrogant because of a vocal minority (aka racists, homophobes etc)

Man should be Manly ! Americans are really becoming feminine day by day 😅
In India Americans means gay people's Kingdom 🏳️🌈 or arrogant jellyfish

@patriciawagaa6735 idk who told u that no women wants a man to be feminine here and there
These Scottish girls are much cuter than I've been led to believe.
Haven't you watched Frozen?

Makes me want to visit Scotland lol
Anyone else surprised at how beautiful they were?
I subbed just because the Zed joke make me laugh.
As a Scottish American I'm biased to love the home country even if its Not what it used to be back in the day. " You'll be sadly disappointed." Is what the general consensus would seem apparently. Just listen to how America is viewed. Zero connection anymore. Both Parties are FAR removed from each other. So if you visit, have a plan and do not get your hopes up to high. Its just life has moved on and Scots are doing their own thing modern day and have their own concerns. They are still a very proud people. Yes, 100% enjoy your visit and travel all over and take it all in.
Hey some of us U.S boys are like our Scot brothers 🤣 2 words "Blue Collar"
It’s so crazy how much happier/saner/thinner/less loud these women seem than American women…
“Saner”? “Less loud”? 🤣 You’ve obviously Not been around Scottish women when they’ve been drinking...and they drink a lot!

Good video, I'd like to see a video of What do Scottish Guys think of American Women?
I actually started to make that one at the same time I was making this one. Then I just hit a wall and didn’t feel like making anything anymore. If I ever go back to Scotland, I’ll give it another shot.
