The one thing to remember with Singed. "The mutation must survive" Progress at any cost. There was one early on who used Shimmer in an enhanced state more effectively than had been seen. Singed seeks to improve that further.
Is that the real/full reason? I'm really interested to find out. That last scene is the second time we see him caressing the locket/music box thingy with a picture of presumably his daughter in it during this process. One of the coolest reviews I saw about arcane was " When you create a show basically to be a commercial for your game... and it ends up being one of the best animated shows of all time "
So technically the "shimmer helmet guys" are kind of an in game item. specifically the "Turbo Chemtank" (although shimmer does not exist in the game universe technically so it uses chemtech) Also, none of the "new team" or the chem baron lady with the nose tubes are in game characters (or any of the other barons come to think of it). They are all just from the show (although that does not disqualify them from becoming one in the future like ambessa)
I think the reason LoL works so well as a TV Series is that there are so many beloved characters and not much backstory, save for world building. So there are limitless stories they can tell with hundreds of characters to tell them 😊
arcane is fully canon now, so a death would count on the game lore. they killed gp once, so they can do it again. i believe arcane will end with some character dying with an in-game event afterwards for their revival. maybe singed? viktor? ww dying and becoming fully what he is in-game? idk
@@BrenoGV12without knowing much about league of legends I have to assume that there is a lot of leeway in how they handle death in the canon. Don‘t the characters technically die in every match? So I think it is enough for a character to have existed within arcane at one point (and possibly die later on) for them to be included in the LoL raster. (and the other way around, obviously LoL came first)
@@Guru630 the league matches used to be canon, but they retconned it and nowadays the league doesn't really exist, so the deaths in-game doesn't really affect the history, since it's a separated thing completely. The only canon dead character (gangplank) died, was disabled for like 3 days and came back with a complete rework. This was probably like 4 years ago? people loved it but they never did it again, it would be a great way to show arcane impact in the game tho
in game: Vi is the stronger one in a 1v1 for sure. If she finds jinx at any point in the game, she can effectivley one shot her. Jinx is more of a back line dps. Later in the game Jinx can effectivley wipe whole teams with her damage if she has proper support, but if shes caught out she gets deleted.
There are a lot of other ways to experience bits of the league lore nowadays without actually having to play league of legends. You could spend a couple of hours alone reading character bios (dont think you would even manage to deduce much spoilers from them either because arcane lore is kinda different to game lore). But they have made other games at this point (within same universe), and theres even a few comics out. Theres a card game (which is free btw), theres a turn based rpg, theres an action rpg, etc.. And there are more games coming out soon. And as for the witcher, while the first season is no terrible its still a downgrade compared to both the books and the games.
I understand wanting to play the game after watching this. The thing is, the game is 1% lore, 5% champions, 94% everything else. Hell, it wasn't long ago that the vast majority of the player base had no idea about any of the lore. Don't play the game based on this, watch gameplay and decide from that. That said, Ambessa Medarda is the newest champion for the game and she's super fun to play....
The black rose is a noxian cabale, founded by 2 powerfull mages 1000 years ago (Leblanc- mirrormagic and Vladimir - Bloodmagic) Those 2 fight each other since the foundation of noxus and influence politics behind the scenes. While Leblanc is the leader of the black rose, vladimir is more of a lose memeber and founded his own secret society, making him more independent from the black rose while also staying as a member of the back rose. Ambessa has definitly seriuos problems with the wrong people. Noxus is ruled by a triumvirate but one member of the 3, Swain is seen as the ruler/emperor of noxus. He is also opposing the Black rose and he just can so because his arm hosts the Demon of secrets, feeding him intel. The black Rose is heavily involved in creating and leading noxus for over 1000 years now and Leblanc is seen as one of the oldest and most powerfull mages in the World. She is also among the strongest mortals and the most influential mortals in the entire setting.
Assuming they stick the landing this show is jumping up to my top 5 among shows like Breaking Bad and The Leftovers. IT’S THAT GOOD. A show about LEAGUE OF LEGENDS of all things!!! Like?!? Hello? The studio behind this show is filled with SAVANTS
49:55 In league, characters are stronger based on how well they've been doing in the game. So whichever got more money and kills between VI and Jinx will come out on top. If they somehow magically had identical progression throughout the match, and comparable items and equally skilled players then it would play out about how you would expect. IE: VI is highly mobile, fairly durable, and will smash Jinx up close, but if Jinx can keep her distance, immobilize VI with traps and tricks, then she'll blow VI away from a distance with heavy ordinance.
20:00 I _WISH_ Smeech was a game champion. Hopefully they add him, he'd make a great assassin. That said, the champs don't die in the show, so that's probably not gonna happen
the game is set in the far far future and summoners are pulling champions out from the different times. so just cause they're in the game doesn't mean the will survive.
So, Simone was concerned that Isla (the little girl), would become corrupted like Powder was. That may be true but it is missing several elements. I think what we are really seeing is another Silco/Jinx situation happening where Jinx actually softened Silco's selfish goals and made it less about him and more about Him and Jinx. Stories are starting to split into Multiple storylines with Victor and Jace splitting ways into their own storylines with Victor becoming some strange savior type (on the surface) and Jace discovering the side effects of his use of Hextech. From what I have read (I never played the games) Jace and Victor are bitter Enemies in the game but Victor goes by another name. Jinx is going to become a hero to Zaun with Isla by her side; a revolutionary standing up to the new Tyranny arising in Piltover lead by Kaitlyn and Mardarda whispering in her ear to keep her angry and vengeful, which serves Madarda's ends. Can't wait to see how all of this concludes.
The black rose magic is from a secret political faction actually called the black rose. They killed the Ambessas son and the she is trying to get back at them.
Strongest between Jinx and Vi in game ? Vi would smash jinx to pieces in a straight 1v1 no doubt. but considering this is a team game, Jinx can have waaaay more destructive power in teamfights than Vi as the game progress if she is allowed to
Omg take it easy. Its the magician that Jayce saw in his childhood. During the transport he did back then there was a flash of different orbs. Its either a connection between in cycle of cause and effect or just a simple refrence to it. Allthough.... mabe HE is the summoner. Everything can be traced back to him saving Jayce..... oh wow. Jayce dedicates his life to study of magic, powder blows up his study, the political mayhem that follows, allow silco to make a move against vander..... George might be right. It could be the summoner. And this simple act of saving Jayce is him "summoning" a butterfly effect that will end in conflict, that will eventually lead to summoners rift
So, apparently the title sequence references a lot of musicals with its visuals. The only one I caught was Jinx waving the flag being a reference to Les Miserable.
Lord have mercy! Arcane came back with such a heart wretching season! So MANY things happening and everything is important. And of course art is beautiful!
If Cait hadn’t chosen to use the Grey, her plan to use a small strike team to specifically hit the crime lords and hunt Jinx in their own territory wouldn’t be feasible and instead Sallow would have gotten his way and done a full on invasion of hextech armed enforcers that would just glass the entire underground indiscriminately. Her decision is grim, but its the least terrible of the two choices. Unfortunately shes just in no headspace to be leading this effort.
Season 2 is good, but I think the writing dropped off a bit. Season one we had long development for characters to end up where they were. 2 there are some abrupt shifts with none of that.
With how did Jace and Mel survive? I’m assuming Mel had some kinda magical protection that saved her. If you recall it looked like something activated on her back when the missile came through the window and Jace survived because he was right in front of her.
to all of your guesses of "is this in game? this has to be from the game?...no, but. not one single new character is from the game or any of enemys BUT they released a piltover/zaun themed map for the ARAM mode (one lane, 5v5)
well, thats not entirely true, technically. The Shimmered up Roid bois are Chemtech Turbo Tank, a removed Item from the Game, so is the green chain Rictus has arround his weapon that helps him break the Black Rose spell, thats Kaenic Rookern and Rennis Weapon during the Attack on the Memorial is the Chemteck Punk Sword. And the Black Rose is obviously connected to several Champions from the game. Who is stronger in game depends on a bunch of things but assuming it’s pretty even on gold and items then Vi wins. Jinx is an ADC, which means she can pump out a lot of damage but can barely take any. Vi kinda changes on how you build her but her one constant is having multiple ways to close long distances very quickly. Jinx has a root (grenade traps) and slow (zap gun) to soft counter this but Vi’s ult (a lockon charge that makes her unstoppable and knocks up and briefly disables whenever she targets) negates all that. And once Vi ults she just needs two button presses to delete Jinx from the census.
Jinx is an ADC, which means she's good from a ranged distance. Vi is a fighter, so if she gets up on Jinx, she wins. League, however is a team game, and as long as Jinx's teammates keep Vi off of her, Jinx will win the game.
the dark will of the arcane is angry at being over used and abused. it is using Victor. tricking him with echoes of the woman he loved. and will make him think what he is doing is good. but it shows him these echo images of her to get him to use the book and heal the man. it is not evil but is powerful and dark and will manipulate Victor as a tool. this show reinvents the lore and story so its not the exact game story. in the game Victor is enemies not friends with Jayce. now that we have seen his rebirth, can safely say they are taking a new path. in the game Victor is named such for both Victor Frankenstein and his monster. Both. as he is a man who using magic to augment his body sort of like a Borg from star trek. a sentient man obsessed with replacing flesh with metal. again though that lore and story is changed so unsure where it will go. but there is a very complex and convoluted history. Ive actually never played the game but i am a writer that appreciate epic scale world building. I deep dove 2 years ago in preparation for season 1 and then found so many changes so i had to basically put to the side what i had just learned. but oddly the base lore is itself a "multiverse" and many different characters and plots can happen in these unique universes. there are also different dimensional spaces within the same realities. sort of think like a veil of death, an empty void, a cosmic realm. very marvel like. But from a writers perspective its more like how in marvel comics there are a million spider-man stories and reboots and they cant all co-exist so marvel gets around it by creating many alternate universes. not just where events play out different (ala what if) but where those realities can be very weird and upside down. (sort of like what if life evolved as machines nano tech style rather than biological. yet sort of gets to a modern marvel like society and human-like beings. League of Legends is sort of a huge timeline. like the way we view our own human history. cross cultural, conflicts, and cataclysms, and after effects. but some of the "champions" have their stories akin to ancient Egypt or medieval times. many centuries apart. but the kicker is many "champions" are immortal. its sort of a process of when a mortal hero gets evolved. but others like jynx get near death and remade, or actually die. In fact. there is a certain character i will not spoil (as i will assume you have no idea he is coming) but if you know game lore, you could tell he was coming way back at the end of episode 3 season 1. but threes been enough teases now that you will know it when you see it. a certain "beastly" character. the cool think about his story is he also was remade. experimented on by anatomy and shimmer and chem. a very similar idea to Frankenstein's monster being made from body parts but more as if from one main body, and a mix of fusing and replacement parts and even "bane-like" chemistry tanks and tubes which respond to his rage, sending him into animistic fury. he has the intelligence of a man though and yet faint echoes of humanity and memory sometimes confuse him. but his blood lust compel him to hunt prey. However there is a point he becomes more than mortal. he dies. and the creator controlling him abandons his corpse like refuge. However, the arcane chemistry and shimmer were waiting for the death and like Frankenstein's monster, mutate and bring him back to life and he is thus free of control. He is an anti-hero type in that he seems to focus on just the criminals and bad guys. like a beastly punisher. sort of like a beastly "Krampus" that preys on evil doers. I was so grumpy that season 1 teased him but didn't confirm. and then sort of set it up with teasers that could go either way. 2 years later... .and whoot! confirmed. so happy. but all that story lore above likely is all changed now. similar but different . like a what-if else worlds. close enough to the old lore timeline. but different. and then the creator company was like (oh by the way.... in response to all your mail questions. the NEW lore is now the CANNON lore. ) so this is a nice way to honor the game lore not throw it out, by saying that the TV show is an OFF SHOOT REALITY. but now the PRIME LORE reality. very cool of them to have their cake and eat it too. not piss off the fans, while making the show much less confusion and more approachable.

The one thing to remember with Singed. "The mutation must survive"
Progress at any cost.
What got him started experimenting with Rio and later mass-producing Shimmer? What is creating this new monstrosity supposed to accomplish? What does either of these projects have to do with his late daughter?
@@kevinw.6177 Indeed. How could resurrecting a dead person be useful with a dead daughter?
@@No1ofConsequence It's possible that's where the writers are going with it but I really hope not. I shouldn't need to explain all of the reasons to doubt those research results would be directly transferrable. Honestly, I can't start to list them without thinking of a new way that it's a bad idea.
@@kevinw.6177 It`s implied he used to be a more legit pharmacist and doctor in Piltover but when his daughter got a terminal illness the City of Progress was ironically too conservative and overcautious to act in time which is why Singed sees Piltovans as cowardly hypocrites who are too weak, blinded by emotions and rules and simple minded to know real progress when they see it. A perspective Viktor will later come to share.
In the end - its doctor from 1 season, not Silco
No, that is not Silcoat the end, it's the doctor that worked with Silco on the shimmer...the same guy Victor sought out for help
I just looked it up and the voice actor for Maddie is Katy Townsend, who also does the voice acting for Cait in Fallout 4.
This show continues to be crazy.
Thinking that's Silco is baffling
Can't wait until some future episode when they're like "It wasn't Silco! What a twist!"
the charcoal intro was actually real, hand-drawn charcoal artpiece, said Fortiche on their page. the more you know lol
"is that a summoner?" A word from the ancient times. A relic from the League's vocabulary vault.
31:39 They're praying to a mural of Janna, another League champion.
“Humperdink” Princess Bride coming through
Inconceivable!!!
@@edinalewis4704 I don't think that word means what you think it means.
One of the coolest reviews I saw about arcane was " When you create a show basically to be a commercial for your game... and it ends up being one of the best animated shows of all time "
So technically the "shimmer helmet guys" are kind of an in game item. specifically the "Turbo Chemtank" (although shimmer does not exist in the game universe technically so it uses chemtech)
Also, none of the "new team" or the chem baron lady with the nose tubes are in game characters (or any of the other barons come to think of it). They are all just from the show (although that does not disqualify them from becoming one in the future like ambessa)
well they are in the new tft mode....
Wait, George shrugging at the Critical Role reference means you GOT to show him The Legend of Vox Machina!
or not, only the first season was decent...
I bet that the ocasional "okay, okay, okay" from George is from Lethal Weapon. It's catchy.
what a lovely surprise~ thank you for uploading this to the channel so fast!
I think the reason LoL works so well as a TV Series is that there are so many beloved characters and not much backstory, save for world building. So there are limitless stories they can tell with hundreds of characters to tell them 😊
If my memory is right, George asked the same wet nose question when they did season one lol.
No George, the joke is: “was this made by R.L. Stein? Because I have GOOSEBUMPS!”
5:19 I know those 120 reasons, too. Gotta love the French!
Love you guys! Thank you so much for the content, much appreciated!! ✌️💚
I don‘t think game characters are automatically safe
they took the setting and characters and going their own way with it I think
arcane is fully canon now, so a death would count on the game lore. they killed gp once, so they can do it again. i believe arcane will end with some character dying with an in-game event afterwards for their revival. maybe singed? viktor? ww dying and becoming fully what he is in-game? idk
They can say that League of Legends works like Fate/Stay - champions are just heroes/vilains summoned from the past. Not really alive
This was probably like 4 years ago? people loved it but they never did it again, it would be a great way to show arcane impact in the game tho
only way they die is if we time jump or they show up older then thier ingame selves. like yasuo has a cannon death older in a cinematic...
in game: Vi is the stronger one in a 1v1 for sure.
And as for the witcher, while the first season is no terrible its still a downgrade compared to both the books and the games.
you forgot novels...
15:35 I love it when she says these things. I think everything's looking like a nail to George.
Vi vs. Jinx in game: Vi if it’s early to mid game, Jinx if it’s late game (assuming equal skill between the players).
this and blu eye samurai are the best cards on Netflix 🔥🔥
Dishonored 2 is a game that has similar vibes to Arcane
That might be Warwick that Singe create at the end.
I guess you could say that the powder keg Wick has been lit, now it seems War is inevitable.
If they make an open world RPG set in the LoL universe it’ll take over the gaming universe.
5:18 oh, i get it hahahahahah
42:20 they definitely took this from Critical Role/Legend of Vox Machina
This season is going to hurt... a lot. And yet... here I am looking forward to my own emotional destruction at its hands XD
Strongest between Jinx and Vi in game ? Vi would smash jinx to pieces in a straight 1v1 no doubt. but considering this is a team game, Jinx can have waaaay more destructive power in teamfights than Vi as the game progress if she is allowed to
The kid is Isha.
Simone play teen fight tactics on League of Legends the next set is based off the show supposedly
Is Jinx cradling Vi's head? I think there's hope yet.
The black rose is a BIG deal
Omg take it easy. Its the magician that Jayce saw in his childhood. During the transport he did back then there was a flash of different orbs. Its either a connection between in cycle of cause and effect or just a simple refrence to it.
Allthough.... mabe HE is the summoner. Everything can be traced back to him saving Jayce..... oh wow. Jayce dedicates his life to study of magic, powder blows up his study, the political mayhem that follows, allow silco to make a move against vander.....
George might be right. It could be the summoner. And this simple act of saving Jayce is him "summoning" a butterfly effect that will end in conflict, that will eventually lead to summoners rift
i holded my horses
YES! #teamjinx in the house.
Yeah I’m so happy I never played these games the show is amazing
So, apparently the title sequence references a lot of musicals with its visuals. The only one I caught was Jinx waving the flag being a reference to Les Miserable.
Theatre plays. Caitlyn's shadow with a crown is a big Macbeth reference.
I love all the non-gamers trying to figure out what Singed is up to
Victor wake up:
- Where is my pinis?
In his current state i doubt he even cares. Sex is probably the last thing on his mind lol.
@TheSofkujepanen Yeah, but I would be confused if I wake up without it.😄
Unnecessary and irrelevant to the Glorious Evolution. You don't need to process liquid and you reproduce via "SHHOOOOOOM!!!"
Im upset that they only released 3 episodes
Lol, George i’m glad i wasn’t the only one who immediately thought of THAT after hearing Salo’s name💀
Please watch the recap next time
It’s crazy they’ve referenced Mel’s shimmer on her back and head before danger comes multiple times and no one notices or questions it 🤷🏻
Lord have mercy!
Arcane came back with such a heart wretching season!
So MANY things happening and everything is important.
And of course art is beautiful!
Please react to "Hateful eight". Cool movie from Tarantino!
When the hex start to glitch, the weapons change's. Like it show different versions of it. Looks like multiverse or time traveling.
But it also gave Jinx the opportunity to bait Cait into oppening the vents she needed to make her large scale attack onto Piltover.
Really need to see Penny Dreadful, such a scary sexy series.
Oh and Signed is also creating something thats from the Game, with a Mirkwolfs no less, a jungle monster^^
And i guess Janna gets a mention here for the first time too. Thats everything i caught so far.
@@datzfatz2368 he was litteral talking about characters dude ^^
and so far we havent seen any of the black rose, and singed is cooking but it's not there yet, and janna is a mural.
and having weapons from the game or stuff that was once in the gsme are more of an easteregg so technically...
There are Chemtanks ingame but not these specific ones.
Jinx is an ADC, which means she's good from a ranged distance. Vi is a fighter, so if she gets up on Jinx, she wins. League, however is a team game, and as long as Jinx's teammates keep Vi off of her, Jinx will win the game.
Those gang leaders are called Chem-baron fyi.
Disappointed in Cait. She is falling into a trap and pushed away the one person who can center her.
the dark will of the arcane is angry at being over used and abused. it is using Victor. tricking him with echoes of the woman he loved. and will make him think what he is doing is good. but it shows him these echo images of her to get him to use the book and heal the man. it is not evil but is powerful and dark and will manipulate Victor as a tool.
this show reinvents the lore and story so its not the exact game story. in the game Victor is enemies not friends with Jayce. now that we have seen his rebirth, can safely say they are taking a new path. in the game Victor is named such for both Victor Frankenstein and his monster. Both. as he is a man who using magic to augment his body sort of like a Borg from star trek. a sentient man obsessed with replacing flesh with metal.
again though that lore and story is changed so unsure where it will go. but there is a very complex and convoluted history.
Do they not know that arcane is promotional material for the upcoming riot MMORPG?
5:12 "I do not trust a man named Salo and I have 120 reasons why"
I hate that film so much! Yes, it's an allegory but... ugh
