Thank you for this video. My Lariat also started to 'go to sleep' also. The auto light feature was not working and the cross traffic didn't work (most of the time). Lucky for me the truck would 'reset' after about 30 minutes and would start. I drove it to the dealer where it 'went to sleep' during the check in process. The dealer had to wait for the reset to be able to move it. After a few day they 'found' there is a short in the fuse block and it needs to be replaced. The cross traffic issue needed an update to the computer. The short caused the battery to drain enough to cause the 'sleep' mode. Ford Engineering was contacted with various error codes. Hope some of this extra info helps with other Maverick owners. Yes, I do really like this truck just hope the dealer replacing the fuse block will solve this issue.

Thanks for the video! Two things: 1) a hybrid doesn't have a traditional alternator, so you'll have to take that into account if the jump box has an alternator indicator on it. 2) There are a few reports of the hybrids having a bad solder connection in the wiring between the 12v and hybrid batteries. I don't think there is a service bulletin on it yet, although that may be coming. Anyway, this is something worth having the dealer check if power loss problems continue.

I see this all the time. People think that the car only have the main hybrid battery and it will last forever sitting there. What they don't realize is there also have a 12v battery that will drain over time because of modern electronics. No matter if it is a Prius or a Maverick you should start it up at least twice a week to keep the battery fresh and charged. It will also make your 12 volt battery last a lot longer.

There is a braking issue Ford is working on a software update. Slow speed braking is jerky such as when trying to pull out into traffic from a parking lot. Any new braking from 6.2 mph or less is jerky due to a miss communication between regenerative and disk braking.

None of the gazillion Mav uploads have shown where the under hood posts are, nor have they popped open the 12V battery cover. Valuable!!
Re the riddle of the 13.5 V. It could be Ford feels that a "slow charge" is adequate. As in, what's the rush.

That engine has no alternator ... it is a DC-to-DC converter to charge the 12v battery back up from the HEV ... do your homework. Also, when connecting the NOCO boost pack, you should crank the vehicle within 60 seconds of connecting the boost ... do your homework/ read the users manual. If the "deep sleep" mode is recurring, you have a completely faulty 12v battery or a bad cell on the battery.

I speculated on everything else and I even told everyone in the video I was speculating and had no clue. Said the lady would take it to the dealership and I would follow up. Customer has not gotten the vehicle back from the dealership yet so I cannot add to the video yet. You're not going to harm your hybrid by jump starting it. The only thing I said wrong in the video is that the vehicle has an alternator. My bad. But how many other jumpstart videos on this vehicle are there at the moment? The customer and her husband both looked for places to jump start the vehicle and read the entire manual and still did not know how to jump start the vehicle. They looked on TH-cam and there was no video showing them how to jump start the vehicle. So at this point I would say I have the best video on TH-cam about how to jump start this vehicle.
