If anyone interested in making these sees this, instead of using syringes filled with water, you can use thick metal cables, like the ones used for bicycle brakes. That way the claws will be a little more compact, and you would also have a little more use out of your hand. Another small bonus, you’d also be able to adjust the length of the claws by just cutting the tubing shorter so you have more wire to move. There’s a video by Geek of All Trades on how to use the brake cables to extend the claws

Dude this is awesome. I love the fact that they move individually, so you can extend only one claw if you want. Two questions though: where in the heck did you get the needles, and is the liquid inside them actually necessary or just to look cool?

I LOVE THIS!!! I wish we had the technology to document the making of my functioning scissorhands- Edward Scissorhands costume in 1999. As well as the hand sewn classic vinyl catsuit Harley Quinn I made in 2001.

I actually designed/made this myself but I felt wood would be weak and chop easily, so I added a metal tip and carved it sharper, to make it seem and be more lethal. I also spray painted the thing metallic gray and made all the tubes ONLY blue. I'm going to try to work towards making a headset like Wolverine when he first escaped.
