Ive spent my childhood in this car, in Ceausescu's Romania, between 1963 and 1977. Rudimentary, though resiliant car. Weighed cca 1 ton and had a little 40 HP engine. Body made out of 1 mm steel sheet. A cruising speed of 80-85 km/h was no problem. Anyway when my dad shifted to Dacia 1300 (R12) it was like shifting to a Bentley, compared to W1000/311.

Hello, I know my message is a little bit late but did you still have the car. I am very interested to hear that a another British Wartburg are alive. A friend has sold a British Wartburg in 2017. It was a green Wartburg. That was one of two in Germany.

Nicht nur 311 er weggeschmissen auch 353 und andere ostautos die jetzt begehrte oldtimer sind
..weil es die bei Dir abgebildeten "Kisten" ohne die Vorgeschichte der anderen nicht gegeben hätte...
