Are you still in Bangkok this Sunday, Oct 27 from 3 pm? There will be a royal barge procession from around Rama 8 Bridge to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). The king will be offering monk robes as part of the end of the Buddhist Lent. 52 barges and 2,399 oarsmen (all Navy's I bet) w/ the main barge, the Golden Swan, being 130 yrs old bulit during King Rama 5 and finished King Rama 6. The procession is 1.28 km long. This pomp and ceremony follows an ancient protocol procedure to the last detail. It's going to be spectacular! Doesn't happen too often. Last time was during King Rama 10's coronation 4 yrs ago.
Here's a TH-cam Short of the Royal Barge Procession th-cam.com/users/shortsqM18nMy70NU I saw the live broadcast. It was playing on all the local TV channels yesterday afternoon. Pretty amazing! Great video coverage. Also more details here for anyone interested: www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2891087/royal-barge-procession-graces-bangkoks-chao-phraya-river
Benjakitti Park with 320 rais (or 51.2 hectares) consists of 3 major parks: water, forest and dog parks. You just explored the water park and hopefully you would be able to do the stunning forest park and the tiny dog park next time.
The venue location is not "new" but the structure, which is 3 times larger, is brand new. Renovation completed in 2022. "The convention center was closed for a 12 billion baht renovation on 26 April 2019 and reopen on 12 September 2022 with three times the original venue space." - Wikipedia maps.app.goo.gl/5GbW29v7hyRvsnrU8

I'll look into it. Something like this would be better to go with a local to provide context on what exactly is happening.

The new forest park is on my list. I actually did record some dog park video, but I ended up editing out. Thanks for the suggestion.
