@@jorgej8855 Do they have the same passion about making sure their kids get properly educated? We both know they don't. Who owns the waves? Nobody. Let's add in the hydrofoil boards now too, technology is going to keep coming. I see traditional mountain bikers whining and complaining about E mountain bikes and want them banned from "Their" trails. A bunch of entitled babies everywhere. if it isn't against the tourists and the transplants, then it is against their own, who aren't purists anymore? Why do the surfers think they have more of a right than the SUP surfers? Stupid people arguing over stupid things, yet showing their ignorance that they somehow own something that they really don't. Sounds like a local in Hawaii for sure. How many are actual Hawaiians by blood? A 1/4? A 1/8? 1/16th? Maybe less? Local surfers villainizing SUP surfers just shows their mental state the rest of the time in their life, they play victim. I don't see why they can't do both, it is also why I want to get into the foiling boards and the wing surfing. You can still surf on waves that no surfer can and get away from the BS mentality of traditional surfers.
Get rid of the Greed (Wave Hog) there are enough waves to give joy to all. from the early years of surfing, surfers would say paddle out to the "line up". its that easy, "line up" every body gets a wave then. make friends not enemy's. one day you may get into some trouble out there and that guy who you call names and or punched in the face may be the guy who saves you... there is nothing stopping the population from growing, more people will come, which means more crowds in the water, so if you, the locals, start the "Line Up" tradition now, you will be able to surf into your old age with out having to scrap for a waves, which only makes it more dangerous for you and the kids... Aloha:)
The SUP guys made the best argument. If SUP brings about new guys that don’t know the etiquette, just teach em. There’s no reason they can’t enjoy the water the same as any other surfer.
❤️🤗❤️ grateful for the care in communication
Watching a bunch of surfers complaining like girls is hilarious. Let them settle it like men. Old school.
