However, she did legitimately struggle with mental illness, and his infidelity likely only caused her to get worse. She clearly loved him and was a codependent in the relationship. Her love for him warped into an obsession, that could only be explained by her illness. She refused to allow him to be buried and lived with his corpse in the same room for many years.
She was obsessed with him which would have been a turn off for most but he also treated her badly. Had his mistress named as one of her ladies, ignored her, cheated probably more. She was crazy just crazy in love with someone who did love her and who was as a selfish prick. He died young and she kind of zoned out in her grief.
Phillip was a jackass, and I'm sort of confused as to why they called him the handsome, when he was anything but. I've seen portraits of him, and he really was not as handsome as he was portrayed to be or at least described as.
Joanna is a women scorned. I think she was in love with his toxic behavior, probably obsessed with it. Probably, that is way he only demestrate he true loved her.
