- Join us for a look at Carver's Orchard & Applehouse Restaurant in Cosby Tennessee. We will walk around the complex and show you some of the store and candy shop and get lunch at the restaurant. We asked what was the two best items on the menu and we ordered them both. Carver's Orchard & Applehouse Restaurant is not far from Gatlinburg and is a nice scenic drive out. I love this video! I'm in northern Michigan (top of the mitten), surrounded by farms and orchard markets. Summer and fall are wonderful! So much fresh produce right off the farm!

I lived in that area for over 30 years. Loved Carvers Restaurant and fresh vegetables! Never had a bad meal! While you're in that area several great local owned restaurants - The Woodshed just out of Newport, Fox and Hound in Newport and Trish's just out of Gatlinburg. Nice to see reviews featuring the small local restaurants! Great job!!!

What a fun and beautiful place to visit and have a leisure lunch. The orchards are beautiful and peaceful. That place is absolutely beautiful. I used to can apple butter but my kids would have it gone in no time. I honestly don't know which one I would have chosen because it all looks delicious. No circus peanuts for me either. My grandma always bought them and I can't even look at them anymore 😂. Thanks for a great video.😊

Glad you enjoyed it. It was just for this video we try to change it up in different videos. I'd go crazy buying everything at the candy store! I love Circus peanuts and still get them occasionally. I like to open the bag so they kinda dry out and get harder and more Chenier, but it seems like most people don't like Circus peanuts.

Finally a non AYCE place that looks like GOOD food at a reasonable price! I would stop here for catfish...and fried chicken too. Lots better food (and half the price) of the AYCE joints I've seen so far.

Please don't get mad with but there's another couple I've been following also on TH-cam I can't remember there name older couple to I think they live in Tennessee but they seem to go to a lot of amish owned places down in Tennessee I know you do a lot of amish areas in Pennsylvania and Ohio but apparently they have an amish area somewhere in Tennessee also they claim its about an half an hour away from sereiville and Gatlinburg area but I wanted to let you know that incase you weren't aware of that

We love Carvers! Good Food, Good Folks...say hi to Brooks Aunt Alma Lou in the Candy Store (the older lady in red) . We always pair a trip to carvers with a drive along the Foothills Parkway just down the road. Beautiful Views ESPECIALLY in the fall! Our son loves the catfish. Brooks loves the meatloaf and I usually get the chicken. It's all good!

The orchard looked spectacular with the mountain in the background. Everything looked delicious. When y'all said that the chicken was prepared to order, we knew it was going to be good. Thenwe heard the crunch of Bobbie's chicken and knew it was going to be amazing. Jennifer said that she thought the catfish looked excellent but I'm not fond of cornmeal batter. The crunch on that chicken was amazing!!! All the food looked great! I'm with John about the apple butter..has to be with cinnamon. No better pairing. I don't like apples as a fruit to eat raw but I love them cooked and cooked in dishes and desserts.

I thought apples were for fall. We used to have a good place in California to get ripe apples and cider and U-pick. So good.
You can eat apples all year. Your body won't reject them lol. They're also a storage crop like sweet potatoes and Irish potatoes. If stored properly they'll last for 1-2 years

My grandpa LOVED circus peanuts!! I’m like Bobbie where I’m not so much for them, but I would eat a few with him sometimes. They were good fresh, but when they started to go stale, they were awful!! But grandpa ate them with his coffee, so they weren’t wasted. I miss my grandpa and all his little quirks!!! 💕💕. Glad to hear you liked the food!!!

Love the Tn. prices. Pretty doon here in So Cal will have to take out a small loan for.a restaurant or fast food. Most fast food wages increase to $20 per hour. Believe most restaurants will be $16 per hour due to tips.Of course prices on everything everywhere have increased. Not sure of gas prices at this moment. Probably $5- $6 per gallon. @@jbinthehills they are late apples. Harvested in the Fall. In the Southeastern part of PA, around Harrisburg and Lancaster, they are called Stayman Winesap. They are perfect for pies and just plain eating.

Saw this video last August and my daughter, son, granddaughter, and myself visited Carvers end of October. Loved it. Brought home apples, relishes, preserves, and of course cinnamon apple butter. Will do again this October. Enjoy your videos.

20:41 The apple pie looks better than what you'd get at a fast food place. For an apple farm, I'm surprised there aren't any apple turnovers or apple cinnamon rolls. 12:33 seems the fish doesn't even need hot sauce

Looks like a lovely scenic drive to the orchard...I love orchards & if they have a restaurant it's an 'added bonus'...lots of gr8 items on the menu..both meals looked so delicious..think .I would have tried the Pork Chops with the Fried Apples...and those Apple Fritters w/Apple Butter...HEAVEN..😊 and look at those 'hefty' portions for a very reasonable price 😊..of course I would have spent a few more $$$ in their store...😉..and oh my goodness a candy store...just what a 'sweet tooth' person like me wants to see 😄

Wow love APPLES resteraunt!!!! Bobbie love that fried chicken! 15 min worth it. Breast was so big! Definitely have a snack when I got home!!! Homeade mashed potatoes, fried apples my favorite fruit!!! John that catfish was the best looking and appetizing. Cole slaw, green beans w a little bacon grease. The orchard was beautiful! The big store wonderful! Ciders, preserves, salsas!!! The candy and pie store! My car would be loaded going back to the hotel if I was there!!!!! Have to have a cooler or little fridge going on vacation cause I would definitely bring back some things.

There is a diner just down the road from Carver's called Janice's Diner. Good home-cooked food in a cute diner setting! You should try them while you're in the area too 😊

The shot of the mountains and orchard over your shoulder, John, while you were tasting the cider was just gorgeous! I would not be able to get past pork chops on that menu! They must be awesome, though I would love them with some applesauce and some tomatoes (neither of which they had). I can't do cinnamon so most of the apple stuff is out for me. 😞 The fried chicken looks out of this world! Thanks for this video - it reminds me of how my dad would bring us apples, fruits and fresh veggies and cider on his way home from NYC every night! He would stop off in NJ at a famous orchard (NJ is absolutely fantastic for orchards and pumpkin patches!). Miss my dad and mom!

Gosh, it all looks delicious, I'd be a fan of the chicken for sure I think though that chicken with mashed potatoes should have a yellow chicken gravy, very old fashioned but yummy. I believe I mentioned it before, but the next time you are in Gettysburg you should follow the main cirle in town up past the college to a place called Hollabaugh. its the same thing on a smaller scale but they go crazy in October during the Apple Harvest festival. They also have seasonal shakes that use Mr. Gs ice cream. So good.

My wife and I love to visit Carver's when we visit the Mountains...never been to the restaurant though, but now we will have to visit it too. How is their fried chicken compared to Gus's Fried Chicken?
They have very good chicken and it is made fresh. But Gus's in Memphis is our favorite place to get chicken. The spices make their chicken delicious. 😎😎
