more queen reactions? 🤔🙂😊
ABSOLUTELY!! You should check out Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981 for one of the best live performances caught on video 😊 But any of their live stuff is incredible, to be honest.
Queen's 20 minute section of the Live Aid concert shows the live band at it's best
@@SheilaMarguerite :) we'll get there
Queen’s Live Aid performance is considered the best live performance of all time. Do the Full HD one because there is a video that cuts out a portion of the last song. Do A Kind of Magic at Wembley. Another One Bites the Dust in Montreal.
Somebody to Love 1981 Montreal. Their performance will blow you away
At their peak, Queen was the most popular band in the world - no exaggeration.
no they were not, half of their number 1s came after freddie died
How popular was Queen?
THE MOST POPULAR BAND IN THE WORLD
I’m not old enough to know for sure as I wasn’t around during their peak. But it’s seems like they weren’t really that popular or at least well recognised in terms of being up there with the best ever until after the fact of Freddy passing away. Or even up until the last few years or so
@@cameronburnett8138 they were popular when Freddie was alive and when he passed away they were more and more popular.
On a scale of 1 - 10, they were easily a 12!
@@cameronburnett8138 i don't know what the ranking people are listening to but Freddie and MJ are the most influential song writers and performers of the 20 th century, so Queen is off the ranking and voice analytics charts. Scientifically proven. Just saying
@@georgalefkas5265 you can’t scientifically prove anything like that. Maybe you can prove it with vocal range. But even then you can’t scientifically prove something that is opinion. For all you know there is someone who can sign just as good if not better than Freddie and mj. But because they haven’t been given the write songs, or within an unpopular genre of music they aren’t given a spotlight. They are the most successful. But nothing is scientifically proven about it
The unbelievable thing about queen is that there live performances are even better than the studio recordings.
For the live you must start with the live performance of QUEEN in MONTREAL 1981 "somebody to love" - that will show exactly the talent of the band and Freddie.
😎
100% This is a must!
This, so much. And then the WHOLE Live Aid performance.
The guy with the great hair is Brian May, it's his natural hair and it's still the same today in his mid 70's although it's now white.
YES.. Brian is amazing in so many ways.. and I kind of hate it when people say things like "the guy with the perm" lol
If "Somebody to Love" in Montreal is next, know that the crowd isn't shown much because it was filmed for the intention of theatrical release.
Queen's "Live Aid" set is a a great example of the audience showing their love!
i was going to do that one next :)
Queen.....They were the best band in the world.
Most popular band in the world
Scale of 1-10, how popular were they? 11. So many number ones. Each band member wrote a number one single. Not even the Beatles did that. Multimillion selling.
.. and all FOUR members of the band composed number one hits..
only 6 number 1s, 3 came after freddie died. The beatles in contrast have 21 number 1s with one in 2023 and 17 number 1 albums
@@JacobSummerhillthe question was “how popular were they”. My answer isn’t changed by you saying “The Beatles sold more”. The Beatles have sold more than any artist so if I was asked “how popular were The Beatles on a scale of 1-10?” I would have said “20”.
@@adamdodgshon638 then why would you mention each member writing a number 1 single, you basically compared them to the Beatles at that point
@@adamdodgshon638 so they were not an 11 on popularity regardless, they were bigger after Freddie died
Auto tune wasn't invented until the late 90s! and YES to more Queen please, and try some of their hidden gems too, not just the hits so you can see all of their genius!
Yes yes yes....
Queens live performances are the best to watch. They were unmatched.
No one has a voice as good as Freddie Mercurys. He's pretty much known as the best vocals in rock music, ever!
Somebody to Love Live in Montreal is one the best live performance you'll ever see in your life. Highly recommended.
Queen was the first rock group to perform behind the Iron Curtain in Budapest in 1986
Greatest hidden gem in the Queen catalog " White Queen " Odeon Hammersmith, Live 1975. The seventies and eighties were the best time to live and rock to the best music, in my opinion.
They were 10/10.
If you haven’t seen the Live Aid show, it’s fire.
You need to Queen's Live Aid set in 1985.
soon :)
Back in the 70's and 80's and before there were plenty of artists who could sing well without any electronic enhancements or auto-tune, but Freddie was a rarity being one of the finest. definitely look at the "Live Aid" set they did.
Live Aid, the whole set, 1985. You’ll love it. They were super popular around the world…Live Aid had 72,000 people in the audience, at Wembly stadium. In Rio, there were 300,000 people in the crowd. Japan loved them, and they Japan. In the UK, they did Wembly many few times, always packing the stadium, 2 nights in a row one time, 72,000 ea night. The last tour in 1986 were all stadiums, around the world. And Freddie sang and did an album, wrote it, with an opera singer Monserrat Cabballe’. Many other bands saw Queen as too flamboyant and thinking they thought too much of themselves, but that’s just jealousy. They broke the mold constantly, pushing their limits, and they were so creative. And types, they wrote many songs for just the crowd and performing live so that the crowd could participate. Freddie loved the fans, and it’s what made him happy, to see them happy and enjoying themselves. You’re in for a ride!!! (Freddie went to an English school in India from age 8-17, then he and his family had to flee to England during the revolution in Zanzibar). The only place they weren’t super popular after 1984 or so was the U.S. Stupid reasons too.
Live Aid is a good way for him to see, how much they were loved.
React to Queens "Somebody to love ", live in Montreal 1981.
Also, "Save me, " live in Montreal 1981. Queens live performances cannot be beat.
They are perfection!!!
The icon live performance (Live Aid 1985 at London) lives rent free in my head. I go to that performance a lot to just smile and enjoy Freddie.
There will never be another band like Queen.
Freddie and MJ are the most influential musician of the 20 th century. MJ was a big fan of Freddie. Queen are imbedded in our daily culture _ We will Rock You, We Are the Champions. Here to stay for centuries to come.
They were at the pinnacle of performers. At their height nobody could touch them. Watch somebody to love live In Montreal and the set at live aid in 1985 and you’ll see what I mean.
They are the greatest live band of all time. No one comes close. Definitely check out Somebody to Love live in Montreal in 1981. It’s fantastic.
"Who want to live forever" "The show must go on" and how many succes
Auto tune came into effect in the late 90s ,Queen were the best live arena band ever, Freddie always played to the crowd with his flamboyant live legendary performance, he was the best frontman of a band ever, all the members of the band have written N01 hits, they were all amazing musicians,Brian May the lead guitarist hand made his electric guitar 🎸 with his father out of an old wooden fireplace, all of Queen have university degrees, Freddie has a degree in graphic design and illustration,Freddie also designed the Bands logo,Brian May has a degree in physics and astronomy, and is a astrophysics and today is sir Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology, bass guitarist John deacon has a degree in electronics with first class honours, Queen have sold over 300 million records worldwide, Queens greatest hits album is today still the best selling album in there home country Britain 🇬🇧 and it’s estimated that 1 in 4 households in the Uk have a Queen album, that’s how popular the band is,I attended many Queen live concerts in the 70s -80s and they are legendary, great reaction thanks 🙏
Thank you. Love Freddie great way to wake up
I’ve watched both of your reactions so far. What I like most is the smile Freddie and queen bring to your face. These are my go to music to lift up my mood. Somebody to love live next please
Hello from germany . From 1970 to today , Queen was simply the best band in the world . Even better live than in the studio .
Freddie is of Persian descent, his parents both born in India. His family family were part of the Zoroastrian Religion so they stayed within that community and within their Persian heritage while they were living in India. Freddie's dad worked for the English Government and was transferred to Tanzania where Freddie and his sister were born. At age 7, Freddie was sent to an English style boarding school in India where he remained until he was 17 and then rejoined his family in Tanzania. A revolution broke out so his family flled to London where Freddie entered Ealing Art College and achieved a degree in Design, Fashion and Advertising before joining Brian and Roger and together forming Queen. Shortly thereafter they hired John Deacon as their bass player after trying out about 7 others who for one reason or another didn't work out within the band.
Thanks for the info!
Thank you for that. I was born in Tanzania and moved to the states when I was 7.
@@Mindgamess
He lived in Zanzibar
He left due to the riots
Same year but after that it became part of Tanzania
What I love about this particular video is the range of clothes the four of them are wearing!! Freddie in his black leather, Brian in embroidered satin, Roger in smart casual and John in his knitted tank top. They were so popular that they just sang whatever they liked and wore whatever they liked. They were always very honest. Music came first - always!
I was born in 91 and I know queen was insanely popular. I mean there was so many big names at live aid but you only hear of queen’s performance
There will never be another Freddie…. ❤
Queen is the only band ever to have all members write a number 1 hit. Not only that they all wrote multiple number 1 hits. They all have been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Brian May the guitarist has a PHD in astrophysics and is knighted. When he was young he and his father made his guitar (called the Red Special) out of items around their house and he still uses it to this day. It is the guitar he uses the majority of the time.
Brian's dad helped him make it, it was a 2 man project.
@@nancyblumberg4612 literally what he said
Queen is even better live. Anything from Montreal 1981 is amazing. You can actually watch the entire concert. Also, In The Lap of the Gods, live at the Rainbow Room. And Killer Queen/I'm in Love With My Car live at Montreal.
Subed for Queen. And u don`t have to stop them... they are very generouse. Great reaction, thank you!
Yes…Yes….Yes. More Queen Please!
Somebody to Love, Montreal 1981... Best live performance ... ever!
Brian May, the lead guitarist with great hair, could play the heck out of a guitar, could write songs, and sing beautifully. He also had a PHD in astrophysics. Quite a man!
Live Aid Concert 1985, wimbley Freddie Forever❤❤❤ thank you❤❤❤
Queen were, and have been, popular from their 1st single, Seven Seas of Rhye! 1972!!! Brian used to straighten his hair in early days, but very quickly decided to defy convention and stay natural
We will Rock You, We are the Champions, Another one Bites the Dust, Someone to Love, I Want to Break Free, Love of my Life, Radio Gaga, The Show Must Go On, Fat Bottom Girls.. And many more.
Thanks for pointing out-No auto-tune and pitch control. The latter, unfortunately now, is, across the board, the industry standard. I’m sure auto-tune is coming, if not already joined it.
Freddie was a force of nature and his singing and playing was God-given talent without and technical assistance. ❤😊 7:45
Queen were the top live rock band all over the world. They toured the world and only ever recorded their own material. All very clever, all with degrees and the Brian May is Dr Brian May, an astro phycisist who works with NASA. He was knighted last year by the King for services to music and his charities. Roger Taylor has a science degree and John Deacen has a science/engineering degree. Queen are still going with Adam Lambert who has a wonderful voice also. Bands at that time were bands like Led Zeplin, Foo Fighters and many more. They all agreed that Queen were the best live rock band in history.
You have just skimmed the surface, there are so many bands in this era that will enrich your mind, hope you get out of comfort zone and check them out.
Been a teenager in the eighties, there were other Metal bands who competed with Queen and there was a few folks who didnt like them. Got to say though there music has aged like a fine wine.
If you want to see Freddie interact with the crowd, you must react to Under Pressure live at Wembley 1986
TanZANia! I love learning new stuff - thank you for that, and thank you for your appreciation of our dearly loved, but departed 😢, Freddie ❤. Great reaction from you
the song just put anyone in a good mood
Check out Queen at the live aid concert it's a must. Keep enjoying the Queen rabbit hole.
Bands really didn’t compete back then. Each band had its own sound and we loved them all! Well, most of them, anyway!
Freddie Mercury is considered the best rock front man of all time and the Live Aid Concert was named the best concert of the 20th century. Michael Jackson was a huge fan of Queen, went to many of their concerts and advised them to release the enormous hit Another Bites the Dust as a single. To this day it's a base masterpiece written by Queen's bassist. Queen is the only band whose every band member wrote several #1 hit songs.
thats amazing, can't wait to listen and react to more of their music!
A 10 for sure
Their best live performance for me has to be Live Aid 1985. One of my favourites live, is Love Of My Life. Totally different song to what you’ve reacted to so far. Another favourite of mine has to be Fat Bottomed Girls. So many great songs to choose from.
I can’t really comment on how popular they were as they was making music before I was born, in the 70’s, so I was a kid when my parents would play their music. I’m re-discovering their music and loving it 😊
About popularity...i think they are one of the most popular rock bands of all time in Europe, not just in the past but even now, but not so popular in US..
Thanks! Not just Freddie, though.. this entire band was super-talented and amazing.. all FOUR of them have written number one songs... it's hard to imagine a group of such talent will ever occur again... appreciate your reaction... and hope you listen to more... (p.s. don't mock Brian May's hair.. it was not a perm or a "fro".. just grew that way.,. he is now in his seventies.. and same thing.. a little thinner and totally silver.. lol)
Ok. You have to do the Whole LIVE AID performance. It was about a 20 min set. Bands from all over the world participated in a multi-day festival in locations in different countries. It was to raise money for famine. The Queen set was the most highly regarded and has stood the test of time. Freddie was even sick. It was fire.
Queen is religion for us, who lived on their prime ❤ Just dig in to the rabbit hole, You will see and hear something that will stick with you for the rest of your days.
Very beautiful movie Bohemian rhapsody ending.. Don't stop me now
Hi @Mindgames from Australia
"Don't Stop me Now" is such a fun song!
I was 12 when Bohemian Rhapsody came out. I remember hearing it on the radio with my friends at school in New Zealand, where I lived at the time. Our first reaction was "WTF?", especially in the middle section with "Scaramooche"etc. But it quickly shot up the charts to number 1 and became a classic.
I gotta admit I find it weird when I discover some people have never heard of Queen - but then I remember some of their songs are 50 years old! (more wtf!)
Prior to BoRhap, they had a few smaller hits with "Killer Queen" and "Keep Yourself Alive". But when the album, "A Night At the Opera" came out, that was it. It was very different, very unique, and their fanbase grew.
I have no idea if they were huge in the USA at that time.... I only know from a UK, Aus and NZ perspective.
MTV in the US actually banned the video clip for their song, "I Want to Break Free". Seems the puritans there couldn't handle a funny clip with the lads cross-dressing. Ridiculous. Check it out!
I watched "Live Aid" in full (as in the whole gig that was in London then Phillie) live on tv here in Aus so got to see their performance at Wembley.
And of course, was shocked when Freddie died from AIDS.
The UK in the 70s produced some really unique performers. I would love it if you checked out "Wuthering Heights" by Kate Bush. That came out in 1978. I was 16. It was another WTF? moment!
Cheers
The guy with th great hair is Brian May , a Dr of astrology and has been Knighted by King Charles 111. So hes now Sir Dr Bri 😁 Queen were and still massive worldwide. Still touring but with Adam Lambert on lead vocals. Loads of live to check out, Somebody to love at Montreal 1982 ...a great start 😁😍
Eran super populares, hace 43 años vinieron a mi ciudad mar del plata 🇦🇷 y fue una locura.
In Greece we pronounce Tanzania exactly like its local people. I was surprised.
You should react to QUEEN - Somebody to Love - Live in Montreal (1981) . Simply perfection
Freddy wouldn’t be Freddy without the fantastic band. It’s not Freddy. It’s QUEEN👍👍👍
Queen is one of the few bands that might just be better live than in studio. Definitely check out some of their live stuff. You want to see his hand move fast on the piano? Watch them do Seven Seas Of Rhye live. His hand blurs
If you want to see how good they are, see Queen - Full Concert Live Aid 1985, here you can see the control of a concert with 82k people :)
4:22 How popular... After Live Aid (concert) they were stratospheric
Great reaction! How popular was or are Queen? Queen is the 4th best selling artist of all time, they sold around 280 mil albums around the world. They are still extremely popular and top sellers today. The best selling artist list is a follows: 1. The Beatles 2. Michael Jackson 3. Elvis Presley 4. Queen 5. Madonna 6. The Rolling Stones 7. Pink Floyd 8. Frank Sinatra 9. Eminem 10, Elton John
4th all time is crazy, that's legendary stuff!
Lol Brian May the guitarist still sports the same hair today except it's turned white over time. Yes you should react to more Queen 👑 you won't be disappointed
Funny enough ...I know the correct pronunciation for Tanzania.....strictly speaking Freddie was born in Stonetown,...in Zanzibar before it became part of Tanzania...in 1963 British rule ended..and the next year it became part of Tanzania......Freddie was already in boarding school in India in 1964...also his family were Parsi with Persian heritage🤩
Saw your react to Bohemian Rhapsody and then this -- seconding the Somebody to Love in Montreal and the Live Aid concert for you to watch and react to. Welcome to the rabbit hole, young one ;) And if you'd like to know JUST how popular... look up the Green Day concertgoers singing Queen as they waited for Green Day to take the stage :)
They were huge, but you had a lot of great music then. Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen and many more
You should definitely listen to some of them and find out what's your cup of tea
we'll do and post the reactions here!
They started out asca peak, always been damn good. You should watch the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, excellent
Start at the beginning and marvel as you work your way through their massive catalogue
Stone Town is on the island of Zanzibar. Freddie and his family had to escape during the uprising in 1964. They came to London - the rest is history!
its a beautiful island
@@Mindgamess There is a Freddie Mercury Museum there. It's near his former home.
I thought that was how you pronounced it!! 😂 I'm fairly certain that most people I know have only heard it that way. It looks beautiful!! You do know that on Looney Tunes, we had the Tasmanian Devil. That is where my knowledge is from! 😆❤️❤️❤️✌️
Btw, Brian May still has great hair!! It's now grey, but it's still fabulous. ❤✌️
Yes yes yeeeessss!!! More, more mooooore!!!
At their peak, Queen was at least a 14 out of 10.
Please react to Another one bites the dust (Montreal live) too
Freddie Mercury was born in Tanzania but he’s not ‘from’ there. He’s British-Indian ethnicity
Enjoyed. Your Perfect and got what it takes for Doing Reactions !
thank you so much!
Best feel good song ever written. Thank you
He was definitely a 10
Well, Queen had competition in the charts from Gloria Gaynor, Bee Gees, Elvis Costello, ABBA, Three Degrees, Ian and the Blockheads and Blondie, to name a few.
Reaja a under pressure de Queen com David Bowie.❤
He sing opera two Freddie Mercury
This is Freddie's anthem of hedonism. It's almost impossible just to sit and listen to it without a single smile or some movements.
when i hear good music, its hard not to smile and do some sort of movements! haha
Please watch Somebody To Love by Queen LIVE (Montreal or Rio or both - they are different enough to enjoy both)
I subscribed but you got to do more Queen and all the other great music from 50s through the 80's
11
I saw my first queen concert in 1974....and then they became THE ONLY BAND worth listening to. There was no competition.
Were they really that popular? I’m interested to here as I’m much younger and at least from me becoming a huge fan a couple years ago. I’ve always been under the impression that they only got the recognition they deserved after Freddie passed away. And even then still hadn’t been put in conversations as being up there with the best until a few years ago.
no competition? 😅😅😅😅
Who were competing with Queen back in those days you ask? Very simple answer: NOBODY... untouchable, hands down 😂😂
Tavistock institute
Freddy Mercury was a genius.. the best !
Queen were popular in USA.....until they brought out a video, full of British humour, but the Americans just didn't get it at all, I believe Queen eventually regained their popularity in USA.
The video......."I want to break free", look it up.
No band like Queen bro....was the best until now. No one have a voice like Freddy the only one.
Autotune was invented in 1997,long after these incredible singers were so around
I love Queen reactions, but would you not pause sooo many times during the song?
Very popular, comparable to Zeppelin. Different. Go watch the movie to get an idea.
Yes they were and are the best. Please dont make the mistake Freddie was the only great member of Queen. You have to learn about John, Brian ,and Roger. They were all college grads and all wrote #1 hits. There would be no Queen sound if you didnt have all 4.. dont get me wrong Freddie is the best front man of all times
Very true, those 4 guys together made magic. The way their voices blend, the way the instruments work together. I think they all respected each other 100 percent. One of the best things about Queen is that they can do any Genre of music. They don't fit a mold, they can do it all and do it well.
Cut out half of the interruptions and I can watch you.
