How to Install LED “Squishy” Lights Into Closet Panels

  • Tips and trick to installing 6mm Flexible Silicone LED lighting from Richlieu Hardware in our closet vertical panels.
    These flexible, 6 mm wide silicone, encased LED lights are super easy to install nice and bright and make closets look spectacular. Here’s a few tips and tricks that we’ve learned on a couple of the jobs that we’ve done utilizing this type of light.
    The grooves for the flexible LED light Hass to be 6 mm and not 1/4 inch wide.
    Cut the lights a little bit long and give him a final trim at the closet installation
    Test all of your LED lights before and after installing them into the closet panel.

    great tip .. i usually install 20mm aluminum u channel an install the strip light .... it looks neet

    Where do you buy the “squishy” lights and are they able to be wired to a light switch?

      Richlieu Hardware has them. We use the Kinetic switch that is wireless and requires no batteries or power

    can you please tell me what kind of cnc mill bit you use to cut chipboard and what brand ... thank you

      We use 1/2” compression from Vortex. We use the one with the very short upshear, I believe it’s called a mortise compression

    Is it richelieu FLEXYLED AT6? This stuff is crazy expensive very nice though

      I think that’s it. It’s cheaper and less labor intensive than running regular strips in an aluminum extrusion and having to notch shelves to fit around it.
