I just received my antenna on a special Amazon deal for $99. I am now returning it. This scale needs to be laser engraved. I have opened and closed it several times and the scale is experiencing damage just like yours. Laser engrave it and I'd consider buying another.
Yeah, the sticker gets damaged almost instantly when collar is twisted snug. I guess the markings don’t really matter much when using a rig expert or similar. After some further use, I also had the end cap start spinning around the lower threaded rod, making it not able to unscrew from tripod adapter. Put a bead of e6000 around that and its all better. Quality seems to be not so great on these, but it does work ok and is a tiny/light/quick antenna. Trying a WRC next week, hopefully more durable/etc.
@@UABFWSS I was hoping for better but this has turned into a disappointment. Send it back. It does work ok but has these flaws! Going back to my buddistick deluxe.
@@UABFWSS the WRC is mostly made of hardware store items but that can be a good thing. If you break something you just go down to the local ace, home despot, or Lowe's to get a replacement part. I have an alpha antenna and the same can be said of it there is a lot of hardware store about it. But that's a good thing again because parts are locally procurable. I borrowed one of the ideas from alpha and made my own ground spike mount. All you need is an RV mirror mount with a 3/8-in to an so-239 connection and one 12-in galvanized gutter spike. Works like a charm and doesn't cost much. The gutter spike is a dollar and the RV mount can go anywhere from less than 10 to $15 for an extra heavy duty model.

@@randyab9go188 sounds good. I did make a ground spike already , should be all good to go. Just waiting for USPS to get the WRC stuff here.
The WRC goodies showed up early. Next level goodness, very impressed....
