OMG, thank you so much for sharing this video. Im a person that truly enjoy my cheap planner and i made it to suit me and my needs. I was just the other day saying this exact same thing. Where are my none expensive planner people at? Some of us just don't want to spend alot of money for somethings. I love my very functional and small ring bound planner and yes she's also decorated to my liking. Again I thank you for breaking it down for us that just want a planner that's still very much useful and "AWESOME" without spending a fortune. Keep up the good work doll. ❤❤❤

I totally agree with everything you’ve said. I’ve done “pretty planning” I’ve literally gotten myself into a lot of debt trying to get all of the fancy planners and things!! After ALL of what I spent I’ve gone back to a simple bound dated planner from target. lol I can’t be bothered writing but so much down. If I wanna write down a list of something I keep a pocket notebook in my purse, that I got from Walgreens too lol and if I do go back to rings I def want to do Filofax!

Wise words. Back to basics is a smart move.

Omg I so agree. I watch people and they have so many planners that they’re using and then I’m trying to mimic and it’s just not working. I just need one solid planner. Great message ❤

Thought-provoking ideas! Love how you’ve come up with products and methods that work so well for you right now!
Our analog choices really are individual, aren’t they? Getting away from what everyone else is doing can be so useful in order to figure out what we need or want.
Yet, it’s also fun to be part of a community and enjoy what we see and learn from others, and figure out if there is a way to incorporate a method or product into our own system/hobby/planning and journaling tools.
When I discovered Tomoe River paper, it was life-changing. I’m pretty sensitive to textures and such, and rough or thick or cheap paper makes my skin crawl, or feels like nails on a chalkboard. But I love and keep coming back to thin, smooth paper like TRP, Stalogy, or even Daiso paper sometimes. So…it’s kinda important to me!!
Also…I appreciate, prefer, and feel a little more grounded with natural products, like leather, cork, or natural fabrics. But I don’t buy expensive covers, as I can’t afford them. I find creative ways to repurpose leather, or buy inexpensive leather products or use large leather scraps to make my own TNs. I even sometimes put rings in my TNs.
I did buy two Sterling Ink Common planners this year. They are lovely, and it’s nice to have a little luxury. I do want to keep them pretty, but my normal planning is messy. So one of them is messy planning, and the other is decorative journaling and such. 😊
Anyway, just more thoughts to add to the discussion. I really enjoyed your video! 🥰I enjoy Monique’s, too!

I really enjoyed this video and the wise thoughts you shared! I love how you repurposed the Stalogy book into your ring binder. I have cut down Stalogy paper to incorporate into my A6 rings planner, as well. The Dutch door concept is excellent. I've not seen it done this way before! It's a great idea. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more of your videos!🙂

    Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve never worried about keeping my planner perfect. Its purpose is to do its job and keep me organized and it can look cute and fun and not be perfect. And let’s face it. Life isn’t perfect.
But I also don’t plan like others or make my planners look like others. I like color and varied and to make my planner my own. So it never looks like others and all the ones that look the same with the same stickers or neutral colors are not inspiring to me. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I do love TRP and prefer a TRP because planner because it’s enjoyable to me. But blotter paper is your best friend. I use gel pens in mine all the time and markers etc and it works great. 😊 might try for yours! I can recommend if you need.

Thank you. Well said and refreshing to hear! I 100% agree with you. I found you by looking for creators that do not use fancy covers, stickers or planners. It’s just me, I respect other people’s choices but I am always asking myself, what can I use that aligns with my values of being frugal and being ecologically conscious. I try to give my money to companies that align with my values. Stalogy, leuchtturm, Nolty even Rhodia which are all FSC.
I look for creators that use their planners in artistic and or creative ways but most important; they actually use their planners.

You can use gel pens with blotting paper. Just find another sheet of paper (cheap paper) or a paper towel that can absorb ink. And remember, your planner is for you, not us. Some of the instaplanners are set up specifically just for that person, for a lot of them that's not their actual planner. Instagram is a curated ideal of how people want their lives to work. If you know what works for that is the ever elusive planner peace that people refer to. Even though planner peace is a lie, but it's really just about figuring our a system that works for you and helps you be productive.
