A shamefully overlooked movie. Full of great Irving Berlin songs, two of the best voices of that era, a plot that was actually amusing, even the Ritz Brothers did well by "He Ain't Got Rhythm". For me the cherry on top was Madeleine Carroll ( one of the most beautiful actresses of all time).
Good evening James do you know that you are a charming fellow and steal the show from that other glamorous couple. A little bit of alright indeed James. Well that dignified posture and that delightfully condescending gesture is going to delight visitors for the next 100 years. Isn't that a little bit of alright? Brrrrrrrrr
Although I wouldn't agree that he was better than Mr. Crosby (I'd place them equally although that's just my opinion), I completely agree with the sentiment that he should have been acknowledged a lot more.
As we look forward to our tour of heaven some may try to anticipate what the angels look like. All you need to do is watch Alice Faye walk onto a stage. Faye is Nature's triumph over the Cosmetic Surgeon. And if you are stunned into a wimpering globule at 2.27 by that glorious smile, rest assured that you will recover. But it may take some time.
Outstanding historical Hollywood archive ever. Merci beaucoup from Paris France 👍.
I love listening to the Richard Diamond radio detective series. He always sings a song at the end.
Brillian guy with a lovely voice!
Always loved his voice!
Thank you! and don't forget Edgar Norton who plays James, the butler.
The multi talented, wonderful, Dick Powell.
I could listen to Dick Powell sing all day...what a voice he had!
The baby faced tenor.
What an amazing guy
I love Dick Powell! He was so wonderful! I wish I was able to meet him. I think his voice is so nice. I could listen to him for days. So pleasant!
Wonderful Irving Berlin songs, great singers . . . what more can one ask for? A terrific clip.

I wish these two had done more duets. Dick Powell and Alice Faye were AMAZING together!
What a vocal talent! And personality! And looks! Where are today’s outstanding talents? In rehab?
Awesome!

Dick Powell's illustrious music career suddenly dropped off the radar in the 1940's when he was only in non-musicals. Better than Bing Crosby

@@carltrotter7622 I hate his shrill voice
I believe he did not really care for singing in films. Strange I know.
Thank you
Nice
