Highlands Miniatures dwarfs are, in my opinion, by far the best in the business, currently - Walks that fine line between being GW-esque while having their own style.
Ace paint job as usual Andy. Unit fillers are the best!! You get usually 20-30 minis in a standard box. That often is not enough to make 2 units and you need multiples. So making 2 unit fillers to stand in for 8 models means you get so much more value out of the box. And most of the sprues have so many bits left over, having a weapon pile, or a little diorama in the centre of the unit is usually easy to achieve. It also makes gameplay much easier. I had a Night Goblin army and trying to set up 100 goblins without fillers would have driven me mad every game. Also, having blocks of 2, 3, and 4 meant that pulling out dead goblins was much quicker, speeding up gameplay.
"Ikea cork coaster", ah ha! Source of cork noted! I hadn't really got around to thinking about where you got the cork, but appreciate the information. Another great video, thanks Andy!
A great selection and idea for the limited edition blister packs. I really do miss that aspect of the hobby. I would finish my paper round and then at the weekend cycle to get a mini or two. While looking at the Nurgle plague tower, I thought those Eldar scout titans would be great as well.
looks awesome. Also at 14:51 you mentioned getting a chaos dwarf army for them. I’d kinda like one myself. Frankly while I prefer official models but last I checked GW doesn’t sell them and finding them online is a pain so in this case might as well go for these ones haha. Only thing is I think chaos dwarves have gunner units I couldn’t find them on the proxy wars website so i’ll have to find something else for it if they truly don’t have them
Very nice job with this model! I'm all for unit fillers, but I don't think I'd use a character for that, because if someone challenges the character in the first fight it's in and I lose it, I don't want to have to switch it (my OCD forcing me to do it) with other units. But having it in the second and third ranks just looks realy nice
I'd go to your local tip and ask about how to dispose of the resin. They should either have a skip for it, or at least point you in the right direction.
Here's how and why I prime the way I do! Two different rattle/spray cans are used-one full solid coat of Chaos Black, and a lighter coat of Grey Seer sprayed from above to add light/dark areas. The lighter coating of grey seer adds a small amount of grit(too small for the eye to see) from above to give the contrast paint a better surface to cling too. Contrast paints don’t work well on black primers, the colours won’t show up well. Here’s a short showing the process, if you have any other questions please let me know! th-cam.com/video/51Hx1uTmtSw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pqC1tehDhkaxQOwq
I do disagree with something said. I do think there is a chance that eventually GW will cave and let some of the legacy armies back in The Old World. I don’t think they “belong” to AoS now and I think some of those armies and Fantasy are connected and cannot be separated. The high elves exist yet their greatest/main foe isn’t playable? Skaven are very much Fantasy yet they aren’t there? Chaos Dwarves don’t even have an AoS army and idk if they will (heck they could’ve had them be in the starter box for 4th edition AoS since it would be in the realm of fire but nope). There’s more obviously but just to show that they are connected and it doesn’t make sense to not have them officially. Now I said “there is a chance”. I don’t think it’s inevitable but I don’t think it’s impossible. My guess is if TOW sells really well (especially if it starts getting close to AoS levels of sales maybe even surpassing them but I doubt that would happen), there is large enough demand, content creators don’t care they they are “legacy” and still make content about them, and enough non-GW tournaments don’t care about legacy factions not being allowed then GW would probably start moving them from legacy to official. How likely is all that? IDK but I do think it is possible.
Ten problem there is you talk about it doing better then AOS but if the AOS models are used for old world when people buy them it just looks like AOS is doing well how would they know who there being sold to.

They are allright but still have their problems. Personally, I'd take GW minis and just use some of those HM minis as fillers.
Ye it’s hard to argue with the highland stuff. So so nice.
Great job Andy, I think unit fillers are a great idea and great little hobby projects in their own right.
Ye I like that about them. It’s an extra fun little side project.
Andy, this is a very ORANGE looking dark elf! It’s still a beaut but it’s orange!
Hahaha I will get a dark elf done.
Cheers Andy! Slayers are great. Can’t wait to pick up the new store birthday slayer miniature.
Same. Great sculpt.

Agreed with all points pal.

Anytime pal. Glad I could help.
The full Highlands scenic Anvil set looks amazing. I'd love to see that on the battlefield.
I shall have a look.
That's an awesome idea for the base, keep your Old World content coming!
Oh I will no worries there.
The dirty gross nails are my favorite part!
Haha you’re weird and I like it
Great job, so pleased to see some dwarf painting, since I run a Bretonnian and Dwarf Army in TOW
Oh there will be more.
Nice! Love the gross detail on the hand!
Cheers. It was very fun to do.
Drinking game, take a shot whenever Andi says "Slayer" lol
Oh. That mite kill people.

You gotta live them.
Top quality work
Cheers pal.
Good work, manling.
HahahHa yes
Oh, how is the ‘Tale of’ series going?
It’s a mess lol.
wish to get the casket of souls and green knight( lucky to buy one this time). regret never buying it when i first enter the hobby.
The casket is good you are only getting it now as they have resulted parts to give it an interior and everything.
Great job
Cheers.

Cheers.

Nice.

I’ve seen the gunner into. I think if you click on the infantry option you chose there weapons and one of them is the handguns.

I bet you and that makes sence.
Really cool. 🖌
Cheers.
Can u paint a dwarf model on a mountain/ highland base
Perhaps.

Ye mite be for the best.
Gotrek!
Close enough.
I’m just going to get a bunch of Fyreslayers to run as Slayers. Not worried either way.
Yep. It’s a great idea.
I want a skaven 40k flavored...
Nice. What would you like.
Dwarves are cool
Yes they are.
You legend
Cheers.
What spray did you use to undercoat this model? Love the scheme but couldn’t find what undercoat you used

Ah. I've paid my bills and I can start setting aside some money for savings and not spend money on....dammit! /frantically purchases Dwarves/
Hahahaha welcome to my world.
