Hi Kim, how are you? Hope u r doing great! I want to ask 5 questions: 1. About question 4 in IMM1294 form which is ‘room and board cost’, what if I’ll be staying in my sponsor’s home? And about ‘tuition fee’ should I put the total TUition fee for the whole 2 years? 2. Question 6 in IMM1294, ‘My study expenses will be paid by’ myself and my Sponsor. So which one should I choose? Myself or others? 3. Question 5 in IMM1294 ‘funds available for my stay’. Do I put my available fund in my bank and as well as my aunt’s available funds from her bank? 4. Section C in IMM5645 which is siblings info, my mom’s dead and now I have a stepmother and she has kids from her previous husband but they are living in a far away city. I never met them yet and my stepmom is not married to my dad. Do I still need to put their names? 5. Do I need to print IMM5645 form to be able to put my signature? Thanks in advance and I hope you make more content like this coz it is so helpful.
Hi Wendy, for questions 1 - 3 Since you're staying with your Aunt, you do not need to list the full $10,000 for living expenses. A smaller amount may suffice. You would however need to list the funds you have available for your Tuition and I'd suggest at least the full fee for your first semester. Sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I do not think it is necessary to list your half siblings, especially if they are not living in Canada and you do not plan to use them for additional points towards express entry in the future. All the best with your application.
hi, greetings from Philippines..I just have a question about the "funds for stay",should i put my funds available from my bank account?my half tf for my 8 mos.program were already paid by my sister and my other school expenses, food and transportation will be provided by her, as for my accomodation i will be staying at their house (all these finan ial support were stated through her affidavit of support.thanks a lot.
Kim pls kindly clarify point 4 and 5 under details of intended study in Canada imm1294e. My tuition fee is 18,000 and i got scholarship for entire tuition fee (funds will be paid only when I arrived in Canada and start school). However, I paid 2,200cad tuition deposit and I have cash of 26,000cad in my bank account. What should I fill under 1. Tuition 2. Room and Board 3. Other 4. Funds available for my stay. Thank you in advance.
Please with the work experience from the past 10 years, I’ve been working alongside my whose an auto mechanic following my high school graduation from 2020 till date how will I fill that part
Thank you for sharing this video. Please my questions about filling the IMM1294 are I am a citizen of Nigeria, I live and work in UAE since Dec 2016. Under ( 7) the current country or territory of residence, am I to choose Nigeria or UAE? (3) Under item 8, am I to choose UAE the worker as my status? Under item 9, am I to choose UAE and a worker as a status again? then how do I select the date that is m working in UAE till date?
Hi . in IMM1294e the portion of Intended Study In Canada, scrolling down city/town do not show the choices and can not manually type. how to fix it? Thank you in advance
There is a new requirement to be uploaded when applying nowadays. It called 'Evidence of work Requirement in Study' this is not included in this video you made and how can one go about it?
Thanks for the information I truly appreciate, pls am having issues uploading imm 1294 & 5257 forms, pls advise on the site to use in uploading the forms as am stocked, am using chrome
Hi Kim. I hope you're great . your uploaded video is comprehensive and helpful but the only question is that , as is seen , there is not sufficient space for some sections like Employment. In this case, how can I add more space in this form??? I will be grateful if you help me. thank you in advance
Hey Vahad, thanks for your feedback on the video. If you need additional space for any section. It is ok for you to add the additional information on a blank sheet of paper. After you can completed you form, you would validate, barcodes appear then you attach that additional sheet with information at the end making everything one document. Just ensure you do not forget to validate if its the IMM1294
Hey Kim! Thank you so much for the well detailed video. Please I'd like to ask, how can we put all the supporting documents in one space, won't it be more the required size to be uploaded? I await your kind response
Hey, you can attach everything as one document then compress the file. I usually do this online. I google PDF joiner or PDF merger then I google compress file. I choose a website where it allows me to upload the documents, it does what I want it to do then download. Hope this helps.
Hey kim ! hope you doing great. in the imm1294e form it asks (during the past five years have you lived in any country other than your country more than 6 months) which mean from 2017 until 2022 right ? , i have lived in another country from 2014 - 2016 , but not 6 months in a row , like i would stay 4 months and leave for 2-3 months and come back for another 4 months , my question is , do i have to say YES and mention it , or NO.
U are a genius, Kim.. Now I feel I can do this all by my self... Pls do a video of how to open a Gckey account on Ircc... If there’s already one, please share with me the link....
Hey Kim! Thanks for this detailed video. One question, if applying online, how can I sign my documents electronically? My adobe version doesn't allow for e-signing. :(
Hi Kimberley, you don't have to worry about signing the document when you are submitting you application electronically. Just fill in the date then validate. You will give an electronic signature when submitting the profile by filling in your name and answering one of the security questions you created.
Hi Kim! I'm applying for work permit and my family is aplying at the same time from outside Canada. My employer sent me LMIA. So in IMM5257 application, do I have to indicate my available funds? I know information that I dont have to as I already have employment contract in Canada. And what about my children? Do I have to provide funds in their IMM5257? PLEASE SUGGEST. THANK YOU in advance!
Hey Kim, Thank you for the information. I am applying for my study permit and I have just turned 18 years old a month ago, I am applying for my bachelor degree, and I travelled abroad three times with school before I turned 18 so I am wondering whether I need to indicate them or not in the travel section. I appreciate your help.
Hi Hammad and congrats on your decision to continue your education. I believe you need to mention each time you travel outside of your country whether as a tourist or for any other reason.
Oh one last thing. I remember from my visitor Visa I had to have a JP sign a document because I stated I am in a common law relationship. When I state this on my study Visa how will I get that verification. Will be happy of you could help with this.
Hi Chei Ann, I do not have any experience where I had to have any document signed by a JP for immigration purposes. I however believe that if there are any documents that need to be signed by a JP, Immigration would eventually request this to be done at some point, even after you have submitted your application. If I were in your position I'd get those same documents I had to get signed the last time signed again, and submit those with my application to avoid any delays in the processing time. I hope I understand what you were asking and answered correctly. You can follow me on instagram at @Kimmie_u or you can find me on fb @Kim Anderson
Hi Kim, if my previous passport had previous visas and my new passport doesn't have any visa issued since its new, do I add my previous passport data page as well as the visa on it with the new passport data page? or do I just add the new passport data page with previous visa on the old passport only, kindly advise
Hello Uchenna, you would need to show the information from your old passport to show your travel record and show the information from the new passport as this will be the passport you're travelling to Canada on/with
Hello Kim. I filled in my application that my parents will sponsor my expenses in Canada but the money is in my bank account. How do I rectify the problem please
Hii kim, I’m in a trouble that i filled my name on family name instead of Given name on this form....so they have issued me BIL with that name so its not matched with my passport so what should i do in this regards Please Help me out as soon as possible🙏🏼
Hello Kim, I would like more clarity on the tuition fee section available. I am going to do a bachelor degree for 4 years. Do I need to indicate the total amount for the 4 years plus the room and tuition board fee for the 4 years? Or I only indicate for the one year both tuition, room board fees & others expenses and explain where I will get funds for the remaining years on my letter of explanation and letter of sponsorship from my parents? Another question, for funds available for my stay. If my parents are depositing money in my bank account, having paid my tuition fee. Am I only going to indicate funds in my account or the total sum of the financial documents I will be uploading on my application?
Hi, I’m in the same position as you. What did you end up doing? Did you put the full amount of tuition for the 4 years or just for the first year? Likewise for your room and board. Also for funds needed to stay in Canada what did you put?
Hi kim , Thanks for the video was helpful. Just came across your channel , would like to know if the family information 5645 form can be validated as mine doesn’t show validate button though other forms did .more so the signature button isn’t working as well just the date section. Do one also need to sign the student information form 1294 or one should leave it blank ??please i need help After validating a form and then updating it do one need to re validate again? Thank you.
Hi Adeola, Thank you for your comments and kind words. The IMM5645 Family form does not validate. You just save and upload to your profile if you are submitting online. If you are submitting the IMM1294 electronically, you do not need to sign. BUT please ensure you validate this form. Each time I update this form I always validate again (just to be on the safe side). I upload the form when I believe I have thoroughly completed it
Hi Kim! Thank you for your help. I would like to ask you. Regarding the question that says if I have taken a test from a designated... I took the Duolingo, should I put yes? and my other question is, in the contact information area it says that I should put my e-mail address if I want to receive the information through my e-mail, do I have to put my mail address even If I select to out my e-mail address so that they send the info there? Thank you so much in advance!
Hi Anny, i'd suggest you give them all the information they ask for. Better to give too much than too little information in my opinion. The only approved language tests i'm aware of that you can use for immigration to Canada are CELPIP & IELTS for English and for French TEF Canada. Please see link for acceptable language test www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/language-requirements/language-testing.html
Hi Rhebeka, yes that's correct, your proof of financial support can be bank statements, employment letter if you've already landed a job here in Canada. If someone else is supporting or sponsoring you a letter from them and their bank statement would help.
So please, does that mean I would have to merge both the bank statement and letter of my sponsor and upload it at the proof of financial support section?
Hey Kim, thanks again for your video, I want to ask about one of the application forms of the study permit, there is a section of employment that I have to fill even if I have graduated from high school, on my university website they said I should put the occupation as a student, employer my school name, and the to date should by the date of my study permit application, however they said enter this if you’re in high school so I don’t know what to do, should I put N/A and write the date of birth in the From date?
Hello Hammad, Yes you got it right. If you are just leaving school and do not have work experience, you would enter you schooling information. That is you school as the employer, the time you were in school as the tenure. Whether you were in university or high school that's what you would do if you do not have work experience.
@@kimanderson8017 what about the family information form, it says I need to enter the names in both English and my native language. Well, I have enough space to enter both names on the same form can I do this instead of filling it twice with different language names and the same information ?
@@hammadjaber3643 I'd suggest you follow whatever instructions you're given on the form. I'm almost sure the form says you're allowed to use another page if necessary
Also, if 1. I don't remember my UCI is that ok? 2. I already have a visitors Visa that expires July 2022. My program will finish in September 2022. Do you think I should do the Optional Document - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made outside Canada?
Chei, you can look back on that letter you had received with your visitors visa was approved and you will find your UCI number at the top. The UCI helps to link your applications. Since you already have a visa and you will be in Canada before it expires, I would not complete the 'Application for Temporary ....Outside Canada." In this case I think its very important you find your UCI number. I'd also mention in my explanation letter that I have a valid visitors visa and attach a copy.
Hey, I've got a question. So please at where you were asked of the amount of your fees, so in situations where you get a teaching assistanship job where your tuition is waved, what will such a person do when he or she gets to that stage? Thank you.
Hello Kwaku, I'm assuming you're doing a masters program? I do not have experience with the question your asking so i do not want to give you wrong advise. I suggest you contact your school's international office? Either way I think its best you show some sort of funding in your bank account to show you are able to take care of your job just in case things do not work out as planned.
Hi Kim! Thank you for your video!!! Question about the study costs section: I have a scholarship that covers all my Tuition and Room&Board. So what should I put on “funds available”? Should I put the the amount of my scholarship (which covers everything) + what I have available on my bank account? Or should just put what I actually have available on my bank account (like $10k)??
Hi Isa, congratulations on your scholarship. IRCC requires $10K per individual plus tuition. If i were in your position i'd show the 10K in my bank account and then i'd make mention of my scholarship in my explanation letter. Remember, question 4 under the heading "details of intended study in Canada" asks for the cost of studies for Tuition, Room & board. I'd put the cost of both then explain in my letter that the scholarship will cover these and i would further list the $10K under questions 5 "funds available for my stay." Hope i answered your question. All the best on your application
@@kimanderson8017 Thank you so much!! I will do that! Now, do you think on "My expenses in Canada will be paid by", should I choose 'Parents' or should I choose 'Other' to be able to write "Parents and Full Scholarship"?
Hi Samboko, that would be an "explanation letter." This would be any other information you want to share with CIC that is not included in any other part of your application. Nothing replaces your police record, you will definitely need one if you're applying for a visa to come to Canada.
Hi Kim, thank you for the explanation. I'm gonna pursue a master. In the tuition section do I need to put the cost of 2 years of only 1 year? Indeed, I have a scholarship of 15k and my supervisor will give me 15k. The tuitions for 2years are 28k. Are my funds enough ?
Hi Kim, thanks for your video. I will follow my wife during her studies, so, I dont have any idea how to fill the following field "Name, address and relationship of any person(s) or institution(s) I will visit", once we don't have our accomodations already or have relatives in canada. It is correct to fill as "N/A" or "not applicable"?
I would suggest putting the name somewhere you will be staying even if its an hotel. You want CIC to know you planned your trip well and you have no plans to be a burden to the system
@@kimanderson8017 Thanks! It's so confusing, bc I am not sure yet where do we'll stay but also I know how hard its to them to believe I am not trying to burden
Hello kim! Thank you for this video. It was really helpful. Question, on the employment part. I was contractual. so basically, the same work but then different contracts and certificate of employement. should I just put them altogther in one row or separate them? thank you for your response
Hi Alicia. Yes you can have your biometrics done in Jamaica. I did mine at the VAC (Visa Application Centre) office in Kingston. I just googled VAC office Jamaica and it seems they are now located at 19 Haining Rd.
Hi Kim, I hope u r doing great! thanks for the video, I have one question and I would appreciate it if you kindly help me. In "Funds available for my stay" should we write the summation of tuition, room, others or it is better to write more?? Also, if we have received a fund offer from the university we've been accepted to, should we write Other in "my expenses in Canada will be paid by:"? Thank u so much in advance!
Hi Kimiya. I'm doing great and i hope you are as well. Section 4 on the IMM1294 asks for information on the costs of your studies but I would still include my Tuition fees in the overall amount I have available for my stay. I would say my expenses are being paid by myself or parents. The overall picture you want to paint to the immigration officer reviewing your application is that you have the funds available to take care of yourself while here in Canada, even if any financing plans such as a job or funding you have for when you come to Canada doesn't work out.
Hello Kim, thank you for the video. I am applying for the Study Visa, is it required that I fill out the 5257 form since it says for temporary residence, I'm not sure if students need to fill this..Thank you!
Hi Danii, yes you would need to complete that form as well as you need a visa to travel to Canada. The study permit does not guarantee entry, it only permits you to study here.
@@kimanderson8017 Thank you for your reply. One more question about IMM 5707 ""will your spouse accompany you to Canada"". If I successfully get my student permit, can I apply SOWP for my spouse? Even I said No in IMM5707. Thank you!
@@Emma-io4dt If you plan to apply for your spouse's open work permit after you get your study permit then yes, that's ok, even when you said No on the 5707
Hi kim, I actually fill out my form and I have no blanks or red highlights, I validated my imm1294 but there’s no barcode on the last page, can I submit this? please help me
Hi Kim. If I already paid my 1st year of tuition for $18k and i have a GIC for $15k. For the "funds available for my stay" question, do I indicate just the $15k or do I add $18k and $15k? Thanks
Hi Jeny, I would put only the 15k because that's the funds I have "available." Then for my proof of funds, I would add both my bank statement showing the $15k and receipt showing I already paid tuition funds of $18k, attaching the 2 documents as one file and that would be my proof of funds. I would also make reference to already paying my tuition fees in my explanation letter (the "other supporting documents" section). I think you're right on track. All the best

I have the latest Imm1294 with barcodes validation. But it won't get submitted on the application (Canada IRCC website portal). Do you have any solution for this issue?
Hi Kim, After validating form imm5257b wouldn't it should add a barcode. I am asking this because in form imm1294 after validation a barcode is displayed. Thanks in advance
Hi Kim, hope all is well..love your content so much..quick question, is it a regular police record you need or an international one for the student Visa permit?
Hey Yani....thank you for your feedback. When I went to get my police record I informed them that the police record should be addressed to Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and they knew exactly what information I needed. Hope this helps. All the best with your application.
hi kim, thanks for this video it is really helpful, however is it complusory to include family members while filling the form, father ,mother, sisters, brothers etc? and from your experience dont you think including spouse to follow for studies might affect the consideration of the visa. it will look too obvious the family are not going to leave after studies. just looking it from my own angle.please kindly share your own opinion. thanks
Hello Akeem, thanks for your feedback on the video. I appreciate you watching. Your questions and concerns are fair and I'm sure many others may ask this same questions. With regards to including your parents and siblings on the application, yes I think its necessary. Simply because the they asked for this information. You do not want to leave your application incomplete causing them to have any question mark on your background which would further jeopardize your application being successful. Now if you have a half sibling who you have never met, or met only a few times with whom you do not really have a close relationship with, I would not include them in my application. Making that decision also takes into consideration that they do not reside in Canada and you nor that person plans on using each other for extra points towards your PR application (totally different convo here).
With regards to including your spouse, I'm not sure if I fully understand. Are you making mention of your spouse in your application that they will be coming to Canada to study in short order? Once again very valid question but please note that Canada's aim is to invite over 400K permanent residents in 2021. Canada wants persons/families here to contribute to the economy they do not want persons here who will be working illegally and become a burned to the system. Hence why i believe its so important to show you are able to sustain yourself/family while here in Canada. I'm sure immigration knows most persons intention is to permanently stay in Canada but they still have to do their due diligence to avoid illegal settlers. All of this is in my opinion of course :-). So its all based on how you present the information in your application.
Thanks for ur response, however for clarity, my question on including spouse on your application as a student ,for example now I am applying for a student visa and I now include my spouse and my child to follow me to Canada won't that send a signal that we don't have intention of going back to our county since we are all going ? And if finally consider will the visa cover for my and my family or my spouse has to apply fir her own separately knowing fully well that she is not going to school when we get to Canada . Is it work visa she will apply for or my student visa cover for both of us?
@@aladeakeem938 You would need to apply for a Spousal Open Work permit if your spouse is accompanying you to Canada. This can be a part of your the same application for your study permit. You would each get a visa plus your permits. A minor child is permitted to study in Canada without a study permit providing that one of the parent is either a study or work permit holder. Please also note that the length of whatever permit is issued to your spouse is dependent on the length of your study permit. I do not think you need to be concerned about your family coming to Canada with you raising any red flags for your application. As long as your show means of financial support to take care of your family while here, you should be fine.
Hello Kim thanks for this video it was really helpful in filling my application form. But there is this section i don’t understand the tuition fee is it my full tuition or first year tuition. 2) the room and board i don’t understand 3) the funds available for my stay in Canada. Pls can u explain
So in this section you're giving information on how much funds you have available for your tuition (at least 1st year), room & board (rent and other utilities) and how much money you have for living expenses in general. Remember whatever amount you present on the form needs to match what you will show in your bank account as proof of funds. Hope I answered your question correctly
@@kimanderson8017 Good day Kim. Please what if I don't have the funds in my account but in the account of my sponsor. Is funds for my stay in Canada the same as Living expenses or just the sum up the whole expenses including the tuition, room and board?
@@adichiegoodnews3649 hey Adichie, your sponsor would need to provide an affidavit that they will be covering your expenses and they would need to provide the proof of funds. Funds for your stay in Canada includes all yours expenses (tuition, room and board, food, recreation etc) while your living expenses are excluding your tuition and just the funds available for you to take care of yourself

Hello Navdeep. You haven't really explained what you did wrong as it relates to your mom's name. If you missed a letter for example, I do not think its a big deal and will affect your application. However, if you think its a major error that could affect your application, you can reach out to CIC by means of a Webform after you have submitted your application. Please review this link www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=52&top=34 (under "Update Your Application") and the link to creating a webform www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp (click on "Tell Us" and answer the questions that follow and it will lead you to the webform).

Hi Anny, i'd suggest you give them all the information they ask for. Better to give too much than too little information in my opinion. Hi! Thanks for the video. Could you answer me if the proof of financial support should be translated (your Bank statements?)

Chei, you can look back on that letter you had received with your visitors visa was approved and you will find your UCI number at the top. The UCI helps to link your applications. Since you already have a visa and you will be in Canada before it expires, I would not complete the 'Application for Temporary ....Outside Canada." Hello Kwaku, I'm assuming you're doing a masters program? I do not have experience with the question your asking so i do not want to give you wrong advise.
Hi Kimiya. I'm doing great and i hope you are as well.
Section 4 on the IMM1294 asks for information on the costs of your studies but I would still include my Tuition fees in the overall amount I have available for my stay. I would say my expenses are being paid by myself or parents. The overall picture you want to paint to the immigration officer reviewing your application is that you have the funds available to take care of yourself while here in Canada, even if any financing plans such as a job or funding you have for when you come to Canada doesn't work out.

hi kim, thanks for this video it is really helpful, however is it complusory to include family members while filling the form, father ,mother, sisters, brothers etc? and from your experience dont you think including spouse to follow for studies might affect the consideration of the visa. it will look too obvious the family are not going to leave after studies. just looking it from my own angle.please kindly share your own opinion.
I appreciate ur effort and time to reply my message. I am very grateful. All questions well answered professionally.
