Something about a well balanced yet less capable RC which is an absolute blast to play with! Hope you're doing alright - spring time over there, eh? Good times imminent 🙃
Going well here, thank you. And it's a perfect balance, yes! That's the conclusion I've come to after many packs through it. Brilliant platform for silly fun!
Our LMT Gravedigger is my son's favorite RC. He's been driving it since before he was 3 and the kid has mastered it. He makes it look like actual Monster Jam footage on dirt ramps in our backyard. The price is so worth that platform. No major breakages yet.
The body is super tough but you're completely right about the tail it shatters in the matter of no time and I absolutely love the way yours looks and what you have done to it
After over a year and a half waiting for this video since we both got the LMT chassis nearly at the same time, I can say the wait was worth the wait! Tons of great knowledge on this review! Thanks a ton for putting it so well together, Craig!
Now that is just the coolest panels I've seen❤ You would like Hot Racing suspension travel limit straps available in many lengths. I use them on the losi baja rey and arrma 3s rc.
That's the exact same part I broke and you'll break the rod ends out of the bottom of it too and a snapped them out I think it is like you said it will pull apart you have to take it apart put it back together just every time it's just that is a bad design and dude I did not know your designing now that is freaking brilliant so proud of you bud
I'm not really into monster truck events here but they are quite a sight to see in person and sound ferocious with those supercharged V8s. The LMT and variants have always looked like a lot of fun to me and I really like the design route you went with yours. They seem quick but not so fast that you need a giant field to run it like a 6s Kraton or Outcast for example
This is another great review and important tips. You know it's a good car when you're smiling a lot. The 3D printed body is a GREAT idea with all the hard knocks. Many owners of these trucks who bash them will take advantage of your idea. I see you listed a steel bumper which may be good. I don't think RPM makes one yet. I think trucks like this, the Gorgon and the old Tamiya Lunchbox get people into r/c.
this was a cool info chat you had with the running footage... consider live chat in your workshop when you're working on something. would be interesting to engage
Now, one of your life goals should be finding a way to fit a body on that beast. This combination is awesome and I'd prefer it over an LMT. The reason i didn't buy an LMT was its size and power plant, it's still an awesome platform though. I may cave in because i want an axle MT SO bad.
I've got a body I'm happy with! And I can print any of the panels again in any colour and pattern I like. Does the job for me 😊 And yeah it's a great machine. Higher kv would be worse, I think. This seems about perfect.
I own a Mini losi B and T. So my daughter and I can spend time together. It was plagued with front end problems as well. I was really considering the Losi monster trucks one for each of us... After seeing this. Probably not especially at the 700.00 price point here in the USA. Oh..one more thing if you are not aware. If there is room. Turn your shocks upside down to help stop the leaks.
I can feel ya on the container, I have a storage building it is insulated amd walled up but my ac doesn't even come close to keeping it cool on a day like today in South Arkansas, 100°f feels like 107, for now I just get what I want to work on and go inside to the dinner table or bar and work, just too hot out there, working on a new ac but ain't got it yet, soon tho but i want a dual, cooling and heating. On rc note love the king slings I've seen them in action in person but never got to drive one they look incredibly fun though
doggo squeeksqueek squeeksqueek lol.....btw, reminds me a LOT of the old kyosho USA-1 in the looks dept with a different rock crawler body. Looks like a bit of fun!
@@RCTNT you had one on the same bench? I didn't even notice! It was the wide tires, stance and size. That's what my mind went to. Along with the tamiya lunchbox, etc.
I believe Freestyle RC has stopped making/selling parts altogether. Which is a real shame, they had some excellent monster truck goodies you can't get anywhere else.
Hey Craig thanks for the video. I just bought a used LMT that has been outfitted with the mud truck version wheels and tires You might have seen it on RC Amigos. I havent really driven it but one time Because I wanted to know exactly what you said today in the video about the weak points cause I was not familiar with the vehicle. So thank you very much for this content. If you know where to get some affordable alloy axles that are actually decent let me know. Thanks again!
Well not being a jerk or anything… the King Sling and the Bog Hog are in no way monster trucks. They are designed to go through mud super fast(thin) and keep the corner weight down for jumping. But… I will give credit where credit is due. You have turned it into quite a proper MT🤙🏻… if you would have done it any different it wouldn’t be as cool. Excellent work.
Dude I never would have thought to make mine a monster truck that is a killer ideal this truck is very tough I mean very strong the first time I broke it I broke the front axle housing I was flying through the yard and caught a telephone Paul and snap the front axle which is this plastic and it's understandable and I was getting it when I hit it
I've released my panels for free for it on RC-TNT.com, per the description. There you'll also find the link to RedBeardRon's original panels on Thingiverse. So once you have those, hit up a local online group in a forum or FB and ask. There are many who are into RC who also have printers. You'll find someone willing to help!
Thanks. I probably will give this one a miss. Had a close look at some photos and it looks like a clone of the original SCX10, with alu upgrades and extra bits. I think we've covered a couple of much cheaper 1/10 crawlers at this point and also a couple of much better crawlers for similar money (SCX10 II Deadbolt, Element Enduro SE, RGT Pioneer, etc). Looks like reasonable value, if dated under the body! Cheers
I love my LMT King Sling. It's the worst RC truck I've ever owned. It's horrible at everything a RC truck is supposed to do. Even better it breaks every time you try anything RC truck like with it. It can be made much better with $1000 or so of Vitavon axles, links and such. I love owning it and looking at it but i rarely drive it.
I know how nice the Vitavon stuff is but honestly, there won't be a huge difference between a truck with 1k dropped on it and mine with under $200 on it. This thing has grown on me a bunch.
I'm sure you know, but you can take a photo straight on with a ruler for scale and insert it into fusion 360 as a canvas and trace it. They don't design parts to be unbreakable, they have to make sales in parts Afterall 🤣🤦♂️. What untill are you using?

This is a great RC channel. Has helped inform my opinions as a newbie to the hobby.
I'm always glad to hear feedback like that, thank you :)

Goodness, has it been that long?! Wow!
@@RCTNT I was still living in Barcelona, so at least February 2023! Hahaha!🤭
Wow! I noticed the grass and gravel bits I filmed were from October. I'd assumed 2023 but maybe that was 2022, then. Geez.
Always tinkering craig. Love it. 😊
🤜🤛
I really dig the black and white “pre-production” car look
I really like the design of your panels. The hood kind of has a low rider vibe look; I really like it!
Thanks, I'm happy with it too 😎
As always another great video. My LMT used to eat servos until I installed a reefs raw 500 with a treal saver
When this one goes, it'll be getting a Holmes Hobbies 650 👍
Now that is just the coolest panels I've seen❤

Oh yes, this is a perfect yard machine and not at all a race inspired 'monster' Truggy like those others. This thing has really grown on me!

oh for sure, I know they're mud trucks. As a concept, I totally get it! But I wanted an LMT. Couldn't get one, so I made... well, this! Cheers :)
Best upgrade I did to mine was replace the heavy wheels/tyres with JConcepts tribute wheels/tyres much lighter and a bit more scale looking
Nice. I like these Demolishers but have nothing really to compare them to. I'll keep that set in mind, thanks!
Craig, what kinds of cars have you designed? How can I get one?
Should have watched the whole video first I guess.
