Love the art ,, music. Amazing! Nostalgic and just great. Not the best srpg I've ever played but it's a personal favorite. The feel of the game is unique. I remember driving 50 mins to buy the last brand new copy. 20 bucks. Love this game! Hitoshi Sakimoto is a genius.
You need to play the Shining Force 3 Trilogy, it will satisfy the need for a game of the level of FF tactics, also you could pic up Tactics Ogre on PSP which just got a remake on PS5/PS4. There are a bunch if great RPGs on the PSP
Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together is by far one of the best tactics games, mechanically. Though this AP system is new to me, and it looks rather interesting. If I get a chance, I'll go through your list. But have you found any hidden gems that are worth looking at?
just finished playing it and thought it was pretty damn shallow in terms of strategy compared to modern strategy games (XCOM, Into The Breach etc). Haven't played too many older tactics games though
FF tactics is a legendary game. i never got tired of the battles do to how fun they are. i cannot even think of another decent length rpg that i can make the same claim. and playing the psp version war of the lions is even better! for this game...well it looks good. but if you say its tedious but love the other game i suppose i'd pass. thanks for the review.
Shining Force 3 is one of the best Tactical RPGs, I highly recommend you play it, its an trilogy with each game playing a different senario relating to the same overall story. They released on the Sega Saturn. Only Senario 1 got a release in North America but you can get a complete SF3 fan translated set for cheap and play it on original hardware as long as you buy a Psuedo Saturn Kai cartridge.
growlanser 2 and 3 are probably my favorite tactical RPG on PS2 even though they play alot different then FFT but i still find them to be really great. yeah this one looks kinda ok wish is a shame since i like the animation of the characters. is the voice acting atleast so bad its good or just bad? because i have a soft spot for funny bad voices
It's not an amazing game, but I liked it. And regret never beating it on my PS2. I would play until a certain point, gwt bored and let go. I want to give it another chance someday.
Maybe try stella glow? Also throughout most of the video, I could only focus on how the characters looked like other atlus game characters, like the blue haired guy looks exactly like the persona 3 mc

I had high hopes for this game back then, but the gameplay ended up being so boring and basic compared to the handful of other tactical RPGs I played before, I gave up after a few hours.
I really liked the game, played years ago but I recall there was something that breaks the leveling making it easy, I think it was attacking your party

Makai Kingdom is amazing. Story isn't the best, but game play is top notch. A radius srpg system rather than the standard grid mode.
AP is from the original XCOM games.

You can run through the game easy after a little grinding

team attacks gives the characters full xp. I think that's what u mean. if you setup a lot of team attacks you don't need to grind at all.
